Fog of War: Book One

Honestly, there weren't enough sex scenes to go around — left me kinda hanging.♥♥♥And you gotta snag all the books to unlock the gallery, which is a major pain if you ain't using a walkthrough.

Fog of War: Book One is a high quality, choice-driven, story-focused, slice of life, romance AVN. You play as a retired veteran attending medical school. Book One is 4 Chapters. My best guess is that one playthrough took me roughly 18 hours. I did not think I’d like Fog of War (FOW). I never served in the military & the MC looked like the jock, big, dumb male type. But my first impressions were all wrong. I came to love FOW! Indeed, FOW is easily in my top-ten best AVNs I’ve finished. First the good. FOW has an interesting, well-developed story & plot. Yes, the AVN genre is oversaturated with college AVNs & FOW is technically a college AVN. But FOW is better, in that it has the military background; plus, the story & plot do NOT revolve around college. Hence, I never felt like I was just playing another, generic, poorly-done college AVN. Quite the opposite! FOW has quality writing. There’s character development plus concise & compelling writing that makes sense within the context of the plot. Moreover, I saw almost no grammar & spelling errors. FOW has more positives. The game’s best feature is the characters. FOW has fleshed-out characters that feel real, have depth, change & develop, & act like adults. Furthermore, there are hot, compelling LIs. For example, several times while playing, I said to myself, “I wish she were real!” At one point with an LI, I was so attached to her that the scene made me cry. There’s your proof of how good the characters are! Plus, there are cameos from other iconic AVNs like Leap of Faith, Artemis, Eternum & Projekt Passion. Also, FOW has high quality renders & graphics. Thus, the girls don’t just throw themselves at you. Despite that, FOW has ample NSFW content & it’s all well done. In my playthrough, there was lots of nudity & typically one sex scene per chapter, including the prologue. However, Chapter 3 did not have any sex scenes. And the sex scenes were hot, complete with realistic animations, in most cases different sex positions & varying levels of buildup & context. I especially liked that the MC could have one-night stands even while pursuing an LI. However, with Book One being the beginning of the story, in my playthrough, I did not officially make any of the LIs my girlfriend. But I’m sure that will happen in a subsequent book. With all this NSFW content, FOW thankfully has a gallery where you can rewatch some of the sex scenes. After my playthrough, I had unlocked 3 sex scenes in the gallery. There are 5 sex scenes max to unlock. Plus, FOW has intel files (they’re new, sexy renders for each LI). You first have to find & pick up each one. There’s a guide on Steam to help you. One of my favorite parts of FOW was the stellar soundtrack. It pushed the game to a higher level of quality. The FOW soundtrack is one of the best AVN soundtracks I’ve heard or am aware of. On top of the exceptional soundtrack, FOW has effective audio, with good sound effects. FOW’s strong audio made the game much more immersive & enjoyable. Now let’s change topics. I hear a lot about replay value in AVNs. But for FOW Book One, replay value is irrelevant. The story is only beginning in Book One, so of course there won’t be multiple endings (in fact, there’s just one ending). So just be aware that FOW Book One naturally has limited replay value. Thankfully, choices do have consequences, & there are more sex scenes to unlock, so there is a little bit of replay value there, but not much. And the developer has told me that Book Three (the final Book) will have multiple endings & thus will likely have a high replay value. Now let’s discuss the negatives. FOW does have some flaws, but thankfully they’re all minor flaws. I’ll just list them, since they don’t need an explanation. In Chapter 2, a serious & sinister plot point develops but the music is wrong. A light-hearted, upbeat song plays, which was completely at odds with the scene. Also, the gallery does NOT have every sex scene, but it does have the most important ones. As well, you can’t name your saves. Continuing, if memory serves, there’s no ambient noise. It seems that the great music was used in place of adding ambient noise. But I would have preferred to have at least some ambient noise here & there to make the game even more immersive. In conclusion, FOW is the full package & one of the best AVNs I’ve played! I went from being skeptical & refusing to buy the game, to buying the game & loving it, ranking it as one of the best AVNs I’ve played! Thus, I strongly recommend FOW, especially if you like Leap of Faith, Artemis, Eternum & Projekt Passion.

This game has a lot of potential and is off to a great start! I like the story overall and the characters that have been introduced. There is a good build and that makes it more enjoyable for me than just instantly hooking up with everyone you meet. Would definitely recommend and can't wait to see where future chapters go!

Still slowly going through this visual novel, however... I just got past the part where I got to see [spoiler]Cece and Lexi[/spoiler] from the VN: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1768640/ So happy! I love those two! So far, the music in this visual novel is outstanding. The story has also got me immersed, to the point I start to think of conclusions and scenarios that may play out. Can't wait to finish it!

To be honest the only reason I recommend this game is because of the Story more than anything. Great story, the personalities of each character feel unique. The Design however, feels uneven some characters feel like they got more effort than others. This game is really slow, there's probably like 1-2 "Rated 18+" scenes per chapters and they're not that good compared to other AVNs. However the story managed to get me hooked enough to recommend it.

야겜 소믈리에입니다. 가족의 길을 이어서 군에 입대한 주인공은 특수부대 엘리트로 복무하게 됩니다. 고등학교 때부터 자신을 믿어준 여자친구 Kristyn과 계속해서 연애 중이었으나, 그녀는 점차 연애보다 일에 중점을 두는 그를 참지 못하고 이별을 통보하죠. 주인공은 어느 순간부터 살인에도 죄책감을 느끼지 못하는 괴물이 된 자신을 마주하게 됩니다. 본인의 파괴적인 행동이 자신뿐만 아니라 주변 사람들도 위험에 빠지게 한다는 것을 알아차린 그는 그 길로 6년간의 복무를 마치고 제대를 하죠. 그는 자신의 경험을 살려 긴급구조 쪽 일을 하고자 마음먹습니다. 그리고 이것은 의대에 입학한 그의 이야기입니다. 자잘하게 좋은 요소가 많은 게임입니다. 일단 사운드트랙이 되게 괜찮아요. 귀가 즐겁습니다. 연출 쪽도 훌륭해요. 중간마다 애니메이션 모션 같은 것들을 끼워 넣은 것도 좋고요. 슬라이드쇼 연출이 자주 등장하는데, 꽤 낭만 있습니다. 렌더링도 잘 뽑혔고요. 반면에 스토리는 조금 아쉽습니다. 이 게임이 담고 있는 내용이 조금 많아요. 특수부대, 의대생, 대학 생활, 각자 캐릭터들의 개인적인 깊은 이슈들뿐만 아니라 미스터리 수사물까지 담고 있어요. 내용이 과해서 집중이 잘 안 됩니다. 차라리 [url=https://store.steampowered.com/app/3369070/Law_School__Season_1/]Law School[/url]이 법과대학에 중점을 둔 것처럼 이 게임도 의과대학만 중점으로 갔다면 좀 더 흡입력이 있지 않았을까 싶네요. 요즘 야겜 아니랄까봐 전체적으로 훌륭하지만 H신 쪽은 많이 아쉽습니다. 애니메이션은 잘 만들었으나 너무 바닐라 맛이에요. 자세도 몇 개 없습니다. 그리고 애초에 게임 내내 H신이 5개뿐이에요. 그 중 3번은 사이드 히로인이고 메인 히로인과는 5명 중의 2명만 있습니다. 아직 갈 길이 멀다고 봐야겠네요. I tried to like it, but just can't. So many things wrong with it... The skin renditions, coloring, make the characters look like plastic Barbie/Ken dolls. Not really any depth or realism to them. The makeup on the girls need toned down significantly. No woman I've even met has makeup caked on that much. Their lipsticks are way out of control. Which makes their faces even more unreal. And once again, the hair... Always in place, standing up, laying down, or even wind movement. Nothing changes their hair. Lastly, the English interpretation is pretty bad. Some misspelled, some even have missing words. Which makes trying to figure out what they're saying difficult. OH! ever hear of body hair?! Guess that's to much to ask the devs to try to accomplish as well. Main character is unrelatable, due to how massive they made his body. He's an elite soldier. Not some contender for the Schwartzeneiger BodyBuilding Invitational. I only got so far into it. Couldn't take the style and just how bad everything was anymore. Even if it were free, it wouldn't have been worth it. Sorry, my opinion. But this is definitely a flop.

Decently made AVN. I liked the story, the military background of the main character sets a more mature tone than the usual games. If you don't want to focus on the romantic encounters, the story itself is enjoyable enough. Don't expect it to be world class, but for the genre it is a pleasant surprise. The characters are good. The main character has good traits, not blank or toxic. The women are carefully created, both in personality and looks. Even if you are not interested to become one's lover, you can genuinely bond with them as a fellow student, a good friend and most importantly a human being. The supporting male characters are less detailed and the antagonists feel a little weightless, but overall no problem. The atmosphere is spot on. You can resonate with the main character's decisions, sometimes I forgot that this is an AVN because its world took me in. Both the military and the university settings are built perfectly. The visuals are nice to the eye. No matter of it is the combat slides, the cars, or the women of course, praise the developer, fantastic work. If you are here for the nudity, it is one of the best. The music and sounds are good also. Nothing game changing, but nicely fits into the game. The less is often more. The game is unique among its peers. I absolutely recommend it whether you want to try it for the nsfw theme or not. Waiting for the next chapter.

整體算優秀~ 來說說還不錯的點, 第一遊戲通關時間8小時左右(價格也很便宜) 第二劇情上也算吸引人,有軍人背景設定上也不隨便.... 第三有彩蛋(你能看到一些熟悉的腳色,蠻開心的) 第四女角都算漂亮(放到2026也不過時) 來說我覺得可惜的地方 第一這遊戲只有5個CG動畫,動作也卡卡的...... 第二這遊戲的音樂在有些地方聽久真的很吵,有些場景放的音樂也不合適 第三點這遊戲只有英文(如果能加中文會更好) 第四點蠻多場景轉換過硬(上一秒在家下一秒就在別人家這類的) 目前還算期待第二部(也快出了)希望能越來越好.......
