[b] Target Audience: [/b] Old NES Platformers/Alternate Platform Lovers/ Coop Players[I] [/i] [b] Summary: [/b] Flora and Fang introduces a new difficulty in the Bubble Bobble type gameplay with the vertical nature of the game, relying on level design and smartly constructed enemies to push your reflexes and intelligence. It may be simple, but it's simple in the right ways, despite it taking a little time to get used to how close you can get to enemies. Granted, it's not going to blow you away in the action/platforming genre: but what it is going to feel is a little nostalgic for NES players, along with working well CO-OP wise. Boss fights were a good challenge from what I experienced, and the difficulty curve was good. Granted, score chasers may get annoyed with some of the randomization, and I admit that I wanted a little more chaos at times. A lot of my complaints are small ones. Things like not having high scores per level, or not starting a level at full health. They do lead to moments where you want to put the controller down, but nothing that will stop you from wanting to continue at a later time. The sound can be adjusted a little bit volume wise, and the game won't blow you away in any specific category. Flora & Fang: Guardians of the Vampire Garden is a 2D platformer that feels like a retro game from the 90s but with a more modern look. The story follows vampire siblings who are left to protect the garden from various insects that are trying to steal pumpkins while their father is away. Visually, the game looks cute, with nice pixel art, well-chosen colors, and a cozy overall atmosphere. The music is also nice. The game supports both solo and co-op play, and having a second player makes things more fun and a easier. In addition to the main levels, there are bonus ones that add variety and let you take a break from the main gameplay. Each level also has a highscore board, which gives extra motivation to go for a better result. There are some small downsides. The game has only one control preset, and you can’t change the controls. This is especially uncomfortable when playing with a keyboard : the shoot button is set to E, which is too close to the movement keys. Anyway, Flora & Fang is a fun and challenging game that gives you a few hours of enjoyable time. P.S. I wish the narrator had more screen time — I really liked the voice. [COPY RECEIVED FROM KEYMAILER] Very fun and simplistic arcade-styled platform game. It's very cute and far more expansive than I was expecting (still need to go back and finish it up) but I can see fans of the games from the late 80s/early 90s getting a good time out of this one!

Flora & Fang is a delightful pixel-art arcade game where you play as a tiny vampire protecting your pumpkin garden from waves of insects — each with their own annoying behaviors. Spiders, fireflies, mosquitoes, and more keep you on your toes, and it’s surprisingly strategic! Armed with spray (to immobilize), jump attacks (to squash), and various traps, you have to juggle fast reactions with careful planning. Bonus: it includes quirky minigames like a flying cat flappy-level or memory puzzles. The game shines with its charming art style, silly chaos, and fun co-op mode. Reminds me of retro platformers like Donkey Kong meets tower defense — but with gardening vampires. It’s weird, it’s fun, and I’m into it.

Good ol' fun! If you're looking for a retro, relaxing break from stressful everyday life—then go get stressed saving pixelated pumpkins instead! A cute game with co-op and great music! I recommend playing it with a handheld controller.

This is a very fun and cozy arcade like game. You play alone or with a friend as the vampire sibling Flora and Fang to protect the garden and its pumpkin from invading insects. Proceed in the game and beat levels with small, fun bonus levels which have easter eggs from other popular games. I highly recommend this game!
