6/10 An artistic walking sim with a few Tetris-inspired puzzles. Good: - the gfx style of the game is really unusual and imaginative, as you see in the screenshots and the trailer - the game brings up the issue of dysfunctional families and bad parenting when children must live up to expectations of parents to be "worthy" of love - free So-so: - no music or sfx - the story, while interesting, it presented in a messy way. You might have to read its description or watch the trailer to understand it Bad: - there are just a few puzzle types, all Tetris-based. Some of them I didn't even understand (the one where shapes go up) - should one create a row there? Overall, it's an interesting short "experience"-type of app. Like most modern art, it presents its message in a way that's not easy to comprehend, so some could call it pretentious. I guess the issue of this "demanding parenting" is more prevalent in China (where this game comes from) because China is a booming economy, there is a strong sense of progress there and thus high demand to excel personally. Plus, the 1-child policy that must have made parents anxious about successes of their single child. There is no "backup" in form of other kids, and the sole child you have is your only "legacy". Just for comparison, in the West currently the problem is the opposite: "helicopter parenting" and giving medals for coming last in a sports competition which ultimately teaches kids to be lazy and entitled, making them unemployable as young adults. Both extremes are bad of course. Also, a child psychologist would say that kids learn more by simply observing their parents and mimicking their behavior. If you are a lazy loser and spend your day sitting on a couch with a beer in your hand watching soccer on TV but punish your kid for having bad grades at school that's just unfair to the child. Instead, you should be a high achiever yourself and show an example of a productive, goal-oriented life to the child but don't really demand anything. They will copy you naturally.
