This game is a hidden gem Short version, its flawed but amazing story and easiest 17 freedom dollas i ever spent. 8/10 Long version. -The good: -Good story -Starcraft clone but different and its a good thing -5 Races and diverse enough to feel different -Intresting maps -Decent balance -Alot of passion Stuffs that can be better: - Difficulty could get better, story mode should be a cake walk (Give a huge amount of resources or fully upgrade ur unites) but right now its pretty much the same and newbs will be stomped - Specialists unites needs some balancing where some are real strong and others very weak - Sylas faction feels abit underpowered - Fighters could use abit of balance, if they are on unpassable terrain they should not be able to shoot as thats so toxic towards your poor undefenable workers and you pretty much need more fighters than the enemy all the time just hover around ur workers as defencive turrents are windy eyed Critical issues: - Microstutters and lagg if you have alot of pop - Ultra wide and Superwide support are not really there so you need to use stretched lower ress - No disable of unit responses, i dont need to hear that i produce my #541 sporeling each one of them, I do not need to hear im attacked by each lazer that hits my ships in a fight when im not looking. Even with the flaws thats easily fixable, i still recommend the game i havent been able to stop playing it. Its fun and im addicted to the story, if you loved starcraft 1, your gonna like this one. Price + gaming love + gameplay = 8/10 Easiest 17 freedom dollars of my life !

This game oozes all the aesthetic of an alternate timeline where Starcraft never got past its Warcraft-In-Space alpha build and somehow ran with that. Its visual style is pretty neat and manages to mirror mid-late 90's RTS games while still having more modern fidelity, which I really can only compare to the Starcraft graphical remaster. Unfortunately, despite my initial excitement, I don't really feel that I can personally recommend this game until it at least gets some form of LAN or P2P multiplayer. AI skirmish at least is still possible, but my own personal taste demands the capacity to play with friends. Even the old guard games like the Age of series and both Starcraft titles (and other RTS games) lack appeal to me any more unless I can try and show folks my nostalgia, otherwise playing singleplayer skirmish in those are again just for the sake of peering through those rose-tinted glasses, and not something I do very often any more. Until then, Five Nations remains an oddity in my library. Something that could be, even if I end up picking it up again out of curiosity at some point. I don't want to dissuade anyone from playing this if they're fine with playing on their own, but just know you won't be playing with anyone else,at least for the time being.
It like starcraft in space.
I can't believe that it has settings menu of default unity game. Not even keybinds menu. Why
Biggest problem with this game is the maps Something about the asteroid walls, galaxy background fake 2D map really bothers me
.
Fun and engaging old-school RTS. Despite few shortcomings it provides lots of entertainment
EDIT: WHATEVER DEV'S DID IT WORKED! DEMO WORKED FINE ON SAME MACHINE IT PREVIOUSLY FAILED ON. That is the kind of dedication that shows this a project of passion trying to channel the joy that the v original RTS' envoked. Buying again, even if it doesn't work, the amount of interest they showed in trying to fix this for it's users deserves the investment. I have no doubt any future problems will be sorted by communication. In the age of silent mega-corps with questionable ethics, and tbh well meaning but funding/talent lacking startups, this kind of operation bringing back the glory of the old LAN RTS days is SO refreshing. Thank you Devs <3 ***************************************************** "What began as a conflict over the transfer of consciousness from flesh to machine..." When a game's description starts with an homage to the greatest of all RTS - Total Annihilation - I almost lol'd in joy. The disappointment then at spending hours of troubleshooting - googling, steam discussions, even chrome code trawling - and still not even able to get a working menu, was immense. For this to be my first refund *ever* - it pains me. But I am poor, that's just a fact, I wish I could afford to support this effort to get it to a point where the main menu works, and beyond, but I just can't. SO much potential. One of the most incredible dedications of a few v talented individuals to create a proper old school RTS. But in exceeding the minimum sys requirements and the game not being playable... Such a shame :( I will be keeping an eye on this one for sure, praying that one day it becomes playable. But I can't not recommend it. I just can't, there is too much potential here. Don't make my mistake and ignore the demo because you were too excited at finally finding the game you were looking for and rush straight to buy it. Give the demo a shot, and if it works, you lucky lucky person, buy the game. It looks incredible.
