Warning: Asset Flip!
Fishing Frenzy is an asset flip, what Valve calls a "fake game". The "developer", fishingfrenzydev/freeanygame, took the Fishing Frenzy HTML5 Game tutorial/demo/game asset pack from the real developers, Muscle-SS, changed the name, and dumped the result onto Steam. They're attempting to scam people into buying this, so they can get your money for someone else's work. This developer uses considerable array of sockpuppet Steam accounts (created to attempt to hide his trail and further mislead gamers about his asset flip scamming and unethical activities):

freeanygame
hellydevelop
anyfreemore
halloweenreborn
anyfreegame
Awesome Deveelop
freeanywhere
matchdev23
anyccledev
AnyWhere
fishingfrenzydev
hellydev
All the same guy. All those accounts just to mislead gamers. Why? To hide the source behind all these asset flips: fishingfrenzydev/freeanygame have shown a repeat pattern of unethically dumping other people's work onto Steam as a cheap, nasty cash grab. Here's some examples so you can see for yourself:

"Gold Miner" = Gold Miner HTML5 Game Template developed by Muscle-SS
"Jelly" = Jelly Match 3 developed by Muscle-SS
"Animal Match" = Jelly Match 3 developed by Muscle-SS
"Any Candy" = Jelly Match 3 developed by Muscle-SS
"Any Fish" = Jelly Match 3 developed by Muscle-SS
"Jelly 2" = Jelly Match 3 developed by Muscle-SS
"Sweet Match 3" = Jelly Match 3 developed by Muscle-SS
"Awesome Puzzle" = Puzzle For Kids developed by quimeragames
"Halloween Memory Reborn" = Halloween Memory developed by Muscle-SS
"Plumber 2" = Plumber developed by Muscle-SS
"Plumber 3" = Plumber developed by Muscle-SS
"Traffic Command: Reborn" = Traffic Command developed by Muscle-SS
The products that result from asset flips aren't "real" games. They lack depth and content, because they're just simplistic copies of demos or tutorials. In this case, "Fishing Frenzy HTML5 Game" is just a simple Construct/HTML5 mobile app action/reflex arcade game template with a fishing skin on it, and doesn't have any merit as a proper, fully fledged PC game, so a copy+paste of it can't be recommended. Asset flips don't involve any professional game development. Sure, sometimes they may change a few cosmetic things, swap out different assets etc, but at heart it's functionally identical to the asset they're ripping off. Asset flips like this are harmful to the gaming industry and to Steam because they reduce the visibility that sincerely made indie games should have, and make it harder for gamers to find real games from genuine developers. Don't reward this morally bankrupt, unethical behaviour from fishingfrenzydev/freeanygame.
Not the worst game, if you can pick it up in a bundle or for cheap, it passes the time, but the controls and hitboxes are clunky and lots of stuff isn't explained. I played for like... 20 minutes and most likely have had my fill unless there's an update.

Fishing Frenzy is a lightweight arcade-style fishing title developed and published by fishingfrenzydev that focuses on simplicity, accessibility, and fast-paced collection mechanics rather than realistic simulation. Framed as a casual aquatic adventure, the game places players in control of a small fishing vessel navigating colorful waters filled with fish, sea creatures, and a variety of collectible objects. Its design philosophy is straightforward: offer immediate engagement with minimal barriers, allowing players to jump into fishing without complex systems or detailed management mechanics. At its core, Fishing Frenzy revolves around steering a boat across a confined body of water and casting a line to capture as many fish and items as possible. Movement controls are basic and intuitive, making it easy for new players to begin reeling in catches within moments of starting the game. Beyond fish, players can collect assorted items such as shells, bubbles, gifts, and other floating objects that populate the environment. The presence of hazards like aggressive sharks introduces a mild sense of tension, requiring players to stay alert while pursuing high-value catches. The loop emphasizes speed and reaction rather than patience or realism. Visually, the game adopts a colorful and cartoon-like presentation. The marine environment is bright and approachable, with clearly distinguishable fish and objects floating beneath the surface. This clarity supports its arcade identity, ensuring that players can quickly identify targets and hazards. The sound design complements the casual atmosphere with light background music and simple effects that reinforce successful catches. While the aesthetic does not aim for graphical sophistication, it remains functional and consistent with the game’s low-pressure tone. However, the simplicity that makes Fishing Frenzy accessible also limits its depth. There is little in the way of progression systems, skill upgrades, or evolving mechanics to sustain long-term engagement. Sessions tend to repeat the same pattern of collecting fish and avoiding threats, with minimal variation in objectives. Players seeking strategic fishing simulations, environmental diversity, or narrative context may find the experience lacking in complexity. The absence of layered progression systems means that replay value depends largely on personal enjoyment of the basic arcade loop rather than on structured advancement. The pacing is brisk and immediate, making the game suitable for short play sessions. Its low system requirements and straightforward controls make it approachable for a broad audience, including younger players or those unfamiliar with more intricate fishing simulators. Yet, because the gameplay remains fundamentally unchanged over time, extended sessions may reveal its repetitive nature. Without evolving challenges or varied game modes, the novelty of collecting items can diminish once players have experienced the full range of available interactions. Ultimately, Fishing Frenzy positions itself as a casual arcade distraction rather than a comprehensive fishing experience. It succeeds in delivering quick, uncomplicated entertainment built around responsive controls and a cheerful aquatic setting. For players looking for a simple, low-commitment game to pass time, it offers an accessible entry point. However, those searching for deeper mechanics, layered progression, or immersive simulation will likely find its scope limited. As a modest indie project, it fulfills its intention of being an easy-to-play arcade fishing title, though its longevity depends heavily on a player’s tolerance for repetition and minimalistic design. Rating: 6/10
It's a cute game and operates pretty smoothly but i feel it desperately needs some achievements added. Without any real goal it runs its course fairly fast. Even at only $6 i find it a waste of money. You'll most likely play it once and never touch it again.
