very little you can actually do in the game its grindy for literally no reward dont recommend wasting your time, especially if your one of those people who like to automate games like this, there is literally no way of doing that, and even if your doing it just for a cool store there is very little you can actually do in terms of designing fish tanks and designing the shop itself.
Update: The developer has said they are not going to update the game any more due to poor sales. The game is fun, but there just isn't much to it. I don't honestly know what to do with this review now, but I'm going to change it to not recommended. Developers need to be more committed than this rather than just giving up a few days after launch. I don't know why there are reviews saying that the grind is too much. I've played nearly every retail sim that came out in the last year, and this actually has the least grind of any of them. Your shop goes up levels at an almost alarming rate, and you get everything unlocked in no time. That last point is important, though, because there isn't that much to unlock. And what you do unlock has strange restrictions on them. For instance, almost none of the decorations can be used in the salt water tanks. Also, there are only 3 different aquariums, and they are pretty nondescript. I've actually enjoyed the game quite a bit, but there needs to be more of everything. More fish, more aquariums, more decorations, etc. Of course, this is early access, so hopefully that will happen. There are a few bugs. An odd one is that if you set an aquarium too close to the outside wall then no one will come into your shop. Another one is that the game doesn't save how you've painted your store. Every time you open the game up it reverts to white walls. Also, hitting escape to go to the main menu causes the game to freeze up for a minute. Nevertheless, as I said, I've enjoyed the game. If you like keeping fish, you'll probably like this
More variety of fish and sellable items would make this game better. Also, the customers standing in front of the fish tanks make it difficult to get what they are asking for. I do like the game.
Not enough content to make it a game worth more than a couple of hours of gameplay. Very disappointing for a game with so much potential. This is basically a copy and paste of another game with adapted content. The characters and cash / card payment system in the shop are just copied from another game. Not worth buying!
This is a very nice and relaxing game that is easy to learn. The graphics are nice and the gameplay is smooth for the most part. I would love to see more content. More fish. More aquariums and decorations. Everything gets unlocked pretty fast but there isnt enough. Also there are very few decorations for the salt water tanks. I'm not sure why some of the decorations cant be used in both fresh and salt. I really love the ability to remove single items from shelves even though I keep encountering a bug where it often doesnt work. (Hoping that gets fixed soon :)) The days last really long and the shop doesnt auto close till midnight even though you can close it whenever you want. I do wish there were some aquarium sounds! Bubbles would be nice :) Oh and I love the ambient lighting on the aquariums and that you can chose to light them up while leaving the store lights off. That is a nice touch :) Please keep working on it....its a very nice aquarium game that we can definitely use!
I like the game, however, there are not enough fish species. You can't hire more then one employee, you can't sell back or delete shelves or registers, the customers stand to close to tanks, what's the point in having all the upgrades?
First Impressions – Fish Shop Simulator Time Played: 1 Hour So far, I’ve only played about an hour of Fish Shop Simulator, so I can’t give a full verdict yet, but I’m definitely enjoying it so far. The game is visually really appealing, with a clean art style and satisfying animations that make even simple tasks like adding fish to tanks or arranging stock feel oddly relaxing. Gameplay-wise, it’s got that chill management sim vibe, and I can see a lot of potential once I get deeper into the mechanics. If you're into cozy sims with a unique theme, it’s worth checking out. I recorded my first hour of gameplay on YouTube if you want to see what it’s like before buying: 👉 https://youtu.be/R_Q-rjWwWhA Looking forward to diving in more and seeing how the shop evolves!
Great game apart from no help, gets very mutinous.
Nice and relaxing. The only problem I have run across is the store room shelves. Once you place something, you cannot pick it back up
