About
3 short stories set in a mystical fantasy universe. You are a newborn Face of God and must decide which face you are by hearing 3 drama-packed tales of human suffering and triumph. Choose a different ending for each story. A short, linear experience that is introspective and emotionally powerful.
The stories have deep emotional, psychological and philosophical significance. They're inspired by great authors of literature like Tolstoy and Dostoyevsky. But written simply, with snappy text that is easy to get lost in.
Worldbuilding, lore and immersion are big components here. The universe is inspired by mysticism, history and religion. There are elements of Western and Eastern culture blended together. God has many faces.
Pick one of three endings for each story. You can preview all paths before making your final choice, so there is no need to replay the whole game in order to see everything. You don't play as the protagonists of each story, but as a newborn Face of God that is learning about this world through these tales.
After listening to all three stories and choosing a fate for each protagonist, you get to pick which Face of God you are. Are you the Desperate Face? The Suffering Face? The Hopeful Face? This is your final decision based on your own experience.
I respect your time. You will not have to replay the game multiple times in order to see everything. You can experience virtually the entire game in one single playthrough, which might last about 1 hour and 30 minutes. This game is short and (hopefully) profound.
I hope you enjoy.

Reviews
I once again wish that Steam had the option to leave a mixed review rather than a yes or no recommendation. There are some good elements in here but there are also some stuff that I think brings the game down a bit (though some of that is due to me being dumb and not reading the description properly). The Good: +The stories. They're fun to read through and I would say they're all interesting. Picking up the connections between each of them is a nice little treat too. +The World. The worldbuilding here isn't anything too crazy but the premise is intriguing. I'm hoping the dev makes more games in this world because it's got a lot of untapped potential here. +The art. The artstyle for the gods is nice to look at and the handrawn portraits for the characters in each of the stories is also quite nice. The Bad: -It's got very little replayability. I played through the game normally just picking what choices that I liked and it was around an 1.5 hours total (the demo time isn't included in my total playtime on steam). I then went back and replayed the game picking different choices seeing if it affected any dialogue. To my disappointment it did not other than a few lines of dialogue changing. Now, to be fair, the game's description said it was a linear experience so I can't fault the game for that since that one was on me for not properly reading the description and instead going off the tags. But I mean, come on. Why bother having different dialogue options and the choice to pick what face of god you are if it doesn't mean anything? It just comes off a little frustrating, that's all. -Random stat checks? I've seen someone on the discussion boards talking about how out of place these stat checks feel and yeah, I gotta agree. What's the point in having them there if you can't affect them? -You aren't choosing people's fates. At least, not technically? At the end of the second story, The Woodcarver, one of the faces of god says something along the lines of the choice you made only being one you chose and Eron will choose himself. So I gotta ask, what was the point in me choosing one of the options if it ultimately doesn't matter? So as you can see my biggest gripe with the game is your choices not really mattering. I understand the description says this is a linear experience but that just conflicts with the game design of having choosable options. Bottom line here is that if you're going to play this then just know you should be coming here to enjoy these stories. Don't come in expecting your choices that you can make in the game to actually matter at all. It's a bit like the game Adios in that sense if anyone reading this has played that one before. Again though I do want to reiterate that I like the world the dev set up and I would for sure be up for playing another game set in this universe. It's interesting and it might be neat to see your god appear in another game telling a tale to the next player.
If you are down here reading reviews to decide whether you want to buy this game or not, just buy it. Its an introspective piece that's trying to get you to think about how you perceive the world. If you made it this far then its worth 6 dollars. To the developer: I didn't like Fate or the pseudo-mechanical dice rolling idea until The Exile but I think that bit alone was worth it because the game is overall short. Good job. I think there is more to be done on the introspection front though. The small choices throughout the stories were often just frustrating because they came off as useless platitudes that didn't prompt anything further. The decision of which face of God to become at the end also feels like a non sequitur as, if you weren't already in an introspective mood when you started the game, the stories don't lend themselves to answering the question.
This experience delivers exactly what is advertised. If you like to read stories that explore morality, the meaning of life, etc., with a mix of comedy and tragedy, I think you will like this. They get to the point and hint at a world beyond. I'm assuming that the sections where characters attempt some action and fail or succeed are meant to merely give the flavor of playing (or observing?) an RPG, but they actually play out the same way every time. I think that's fine, though unclear without multiple playthroughs to confirm. I think they could have been used more, actually. I like the impression of gold specks in some of the artwork. Also, the burning card effect is cool. But what is the point of clicking the cards at the beginning of every scene? All in all, a good couple of hours.
Hello, I saw this game via reddit and was fascinated enough to buy it. I'd say this overall game was good, but lacked a sense of ostentation needed to properly communicate all aspects. I wanted to know the capacity of the god's expressions, and the nature of the reality i've been placed into. I would want to know more about this world and would recommend you make a larger more ambitious story in the future. Also the skill resolution mechanics should be in the hands of the player rather than just chance.
Well... 3 novellas, all short, all on a slightly depressive side. Exactly what is says on the box, no less, no more. Anyways, the author is onto something here with the world, art style and god polemics. It just needs fleshing out.
A liitle depressive but very well written story
Interesting short read with fitting art and music. Would love to see a part 2 in similar style but longer and with choices that sculpt the game rather than being entirely for introspection. The game description sums up what it's about pretty well "3 short stories set in a mystical fantasy universe. You are a newborn Face of God. Hear tales of human suffering and triumph. Decide which Face of God you are. Pick a different fate for each main character. A short, linear experience that is introspective, emotional and spiritual."
