This is a delightful game made by a crew of five young ladies - Caroline, Anne, Juilet, Rose, Lydia - and their father Mark. Your tuxedo cat Ivy has escaped the house, and you must get him back while facing strange obstacles and contesting with the antagonist Queen Anne. It's not possible to die in the game and every level presents an overarching puzzle to solve in order to progress, usually involving finding materials or a weapon to utilize. There's decent platforming to be had, and the lack of a death state means the combat in the game mostly just involves avoiding potential stunlock. You can also play with up to 4 friends from your Steam profile, which is a design decision you really don't see enough of with work in this genre. It's a very sweet story and it's always heartening to see young talent doing their best. Highly recommended!
Finding Ivy is a delightful and refreshing take on the casual 2D platformer. The premise is simple yet charming you and up to three friends set off to explore a whimsical, hand-drawn world in search of your runaway cat. The journey is filled with classic platforming elements like running, jumping, and climbing, but what really makes the game stand out is its heart. The art style is immediately eye-catching. Every background, character, and item is drawn by kids, giving the game a raw, imaginative feel that you won’t find in polished, hyper-realistic titles. It’s colorful, playful, and brimming with personality every level feels like you’ve stepped into a child’s sketchbook come to life. That sense of authenticity makes the adventure feel warm and personal.
Chasing after a mischevous cat in this 2D platformer, Finding Ivy is a cute crayon-colored cozy game. It looks like it's pulled straight from a child's sketchbook that is impossible not to smile at. This game is better played on a controller, but not impossible on keyboard, I've played with both. This is a cute little game with adorable animals!
Really Short, but Super cute, Love the idea. hopefully they'll make more games
