I remember borrowing this from a friend back in the days. Just completed the campaign on the Classics version. Very basic but SO GOOD! And the live action cinematics are just glorious 😂

Fantastic port of an old classic. For the Emperor!

I am biased. Yes. However, this game from the late 90s still holds up to many of its modern counterparts; and it is actually better than the majority. The unit selection variety is amazing, the weapon selection is also amazing on titans, as well as the hand-drawn terrain feeling. The fact you can wipe out entire enemy infantry squads by collapsing a building on them is a fine touch for the game from the 90s. The campaign, if played on the hardest difficulty, is actually quite challenging for the first half of the game. Then it gets easier after repelling the first counter-attack, and the ork reinforcements. You can tailor the campaign to your playstyle with the unit selection, which is quite amazing. The enemy will match the battle with ~ 150% point-stronger army on the hardest difficulty. Unless you've racked up tons of artillery and air support, every battle can be challenging. I've played this over a dozen times since ~ 2003, and a new playthrough never gets boring. As for the bugs and other technical difficulties: the game runs fine without crashes, except for the end-mission cutscenes. Sometimes they can crash the game, and it occurs randomly. Not sure if it's some encoding problem or whatever, but just make sure you have a save backup right the mission end so you can reload and give it another go. Other than that, it runs smoothly on Windows 11 without using compatibility mods. 10/10, would recommend.

Great memories. I still own the original but it hasn't been played for a very long time. The UI is outdated AF but the game is solid and has always been one of my favourite Warhammer games. Did crash a bit on me when I tried to see the movement grid but it kind of came back then tried to crash my system but Debian was having none of that. This is a 9/10 game for me at the time. I still rate it 8/10 and if you can get past the slow and outdated interface I think you will have a great time if you like turn-based wargames.

I can not get any of the 'cheat' codes to do anything. In fact the Imperials cant hit anything most o the time.
