I expected this game to be for me a 10/10 But Unfortunately it Wasn't. its a (7.7/10) I am a gigantic Final fantasy fan some of the final fantasy games are a Major thing of what built me when I was a kid and even as an adult helped me to become the man I am today with the morals that I have today. Fictional story's always had a very deep and strong influence on me and I am happy to say that The story inside this game gave me a lot of the same effect that the older final fantasy games had the story was beautiful and most characters where great. But the game had a lot of flaws Even in the story itself. But the story was probably the strongest thing from all of this game. The combat was WAY too easy that its genuinely making me so sad I played with no items and with some of the WORST gear in the game intentionally just to make the game hard for myself and it just wasn't On top of that I really fell that some of the only times I did die it was only because It was not obvious what to do in the battle NOT because I was not skilled enough so I just came back every time with the new knowledge that I got and Passed super easily Lots of boss in this game are just damage sponges nothing more really. Attack animations are INCREDIBLE (and this is the best part of the combat) but the combat itself is kinda mid Its weird cuz this combat on paper was supposed to be my fav type of combat. Heavy combus (you have only 2 in game💀) Parry and dodge (which are beautiful animated and feel good but so ez to use its laughable) Beautiful Sword ( that had some of the worst sword combat i felt in a triple A game it feels like you hit enemies with a stick) Semi Open word (looks gorgeous and stunning and visualy telling the story of the word so well BUT SO Disappointing to actually explore and play around in barely anything to do and you feel WAYY too limited by the very clear limits the devs put to the game it feels so bad) Is the combat tells the story in a good way? Yes Is the open world is? Hell yeah Do the characters are? Hellll yeah Do the game still made me tear up a bit like other final fantasy games Talk about the meaning of human kind and more ♥♥♥♥ like that? HELLLL yeah But I expected so much from the next final fantasy game and it really didnt stood my expectations. Very sad about it as well cuz its the first project from the Main ff14 director which is one of my all time fav director so my expansions where even more high then a normal. Did the story and the beautiful world touched me? YES maybe much more than it should for most i loved it Did it i enjoy the gameplay experience? Not so much but in rare times yes. It sounds more like a 5 or a 6/10 review But I still really enjoyed my time with it Overall still a gorgeous game 7.7/10 Might change my opinion on it later (VERY BAD PERFORMANCE ON PC BTW I REALLY NEED TO MENTION THAT) for g sake is been 2 years since it came out on pc fix it Square (they most lilkey wouldn't) performance on pc is a whole different topic here so imma not deep in it.

Sí.
genuinely excited and happy for a hack and slash ff
FF 16 is Devil May Cry Hack n Slash Combat with a well written Final Fantasy story. The combat is different from a lot of other FF games but is very well done and engaging. The story has several unforgettable moments that fit well in line with the other main line FF games. The sidequests are the worst part of this game as 90% of them are just fetch quests. I'm a long time FF fan and although this is quite a bit different from the others, FF16 is solid game with a well written story.
At this point in my life, I have only played FF7 Remake and Crisis Core Remake before. STORY - The story was about free will, but I didn't find the execution that intriguing. It felt a bit generic, aside from story point on how magic users were treated like lesser people. - My favorite character was Cid. I liked most of the side characters. Jill, Joshua, Dion, etc. All good. - Unlike the main story, the DLCs were great. Interesting stories and challenging bosses. Also, they brought back Tonberries!!! QUESTS - I completed all of the side quests. I skipped a lot of dialog. I did enjoy the L'ubor questline in Dalimil. GAMEPLAY - I did enjoy the gameplay. Once you unlock enough powersets, you can create good, custom combinations to maximize damage output and enemy stagger. - All Eikon battles were HYPE! - There are these time trial minigames that I wasn't a fan of. I decided to only do the Water Trial in the 2nd DLC. - I enjoyed exploring the open world areas and finding the mini-boss encounters from the hunter board. I did all of them because they were that fun to encounter! VISUAL/SOUND - The game looked and sounded good. Best example would be the Omega fight in the 1st DLC. CONCLUSION Rating 7/10. The DLCs and gameplay carried. 7/18/26
Just a great game. Yes, it's an action game. Yes, I think it could have been better with more strategic battles, switching characters and such, but it's a solid action game as is. This is coming from an OG fan who enjoys, but is not married to "turn based" games. The music is next level and might be one of the greatest soundtracks produced in... in anything really. It goes a little heavy into the GOT realm of fantasy, which I do not like for an FF game. FFXVI takes itself way too serious most of the time and I think it needed some lighter hearted moments to balance out. I think it's a solid FF title, though it could have been a masterpiece with the right tweaks.
