About
A plethora of powerful swordplay techniques and Eikonic abilities lie within Clive's remit—and it is up to you to decide which ones you wish to learn or upgrade. If you're having trouble choosing, upgrades can be unlocked automatically.
Story-focused mode is recommended for those players who are less comfortable with action games and wish to focus more on the game's story elements. In this mode, Clive will automatically evade some attacks, and epic Eikonic combos can be triggered with simple button presses. Action-focused mode, where Clive's every action is controlled by the player, is available for those who are confident in their skill—or want to test it.

This is probably the third best final fantasy game for me. There's room for improvement but overall worth it on sale for roughly $30.
this is a very good game if you change your mindset that it is the typical Final Fantasy game that's a turn based RPG. Enjoyed the story and characters. Only small criticism I can say is that some of the cutscenes are a bit too long. (shut up Barnabas!)
One of the best games i have in a long time.
Much less than the sum of its parts. The game is functional, it looks fine, runs alright, and everything works, but it just fails to come together in a way that feels cohesive and enjoyable. It has its moments, but they're bookended by a lot of "Ugh, this again?". The presentation cuts a lot of corners with tons of canned repeated animations, fades to black, and a total lack of motion capture. Gameplay wise a lot of the game feels like a hallway moving from combat encounter to combat encounter when the battle system really isn't sufficient for the game to lean on it so hard. Boss fights are overly long with an absurd number of phases, one of which is inevitably a QTE laden hyper-drawn-out cutscene. Enviromental designs can be really cool, the Hideaway in particular, but often feel lifeless and needlessley cumbersome to get around. Narratively a lot of stuff is left unexplained, plot points are dropped, or they're relegated to one of the in-game encylopedias (Theres more than one). The game isn't awful and I'd lean more toward a tepid recommendation if the Steam review system had a middle ground. I certainly wouldn't advise paying full price for this.
The game is alright but the performance suffers at times. The story is interesting and honestly it can feel engaging during combat. The game is trying to be "devil may cry" and you can recognize these moves from devil may cry. But just because they are trying to be devil may cry even for a fan, I don't recommended it if you are looking for a clone of dmc. The game is trying to be open world but majority of the place feels empty, there isn't much to interact with except side missions. These side missions are not are just mid, nothing interesting but they are not the words, it kinda reminds of Naruto storm games adventure mode where you can talk to npc but they saying the same thing except the important npc or relevant to it's mission. The experience you get during combat or missions are a bit tiny in my opinion. The soundtrack and combat are great but because of pacing, performance, the way they are trying to be dmc and open world in mediocare state, I find it hard to recommend this game at FULL PRICE. Maybe I played bunch of quality games where they did a greart job on performance, story telling and all aspect of that game that is why my expectation is a HIGH. I don't recommended it full price but I recommend it if you buy it on sale and if you are in for story and regular combat. Overall it is 50/50 because the game suffers to its performance even the high end pc out there, there isn't any support for ultrawide monitors that you have to workaround to play it ultrawide which is easy to just search on youtube on how to do it. If you are looking for for action adventure with great story, I recommend Lies of P Complete Edition over this game but if you can get this on sale especially deep sale, go for it. Update: Maybe I will add more as I progress through the game, There was this epic battle against Kupka, the Eikon of Titan where you have to kill him for good. Honestly it is great battle of the giants, this battle is epic. After the battle, you get into a scene where prince Dion and Sir Terence kissing "gay scene, that broke the hype of the pacing, hype and what is about to happen. Why? It kinda felt like they are building up something epic and then it crash down to the ground in an instant. Dude. Why?!
