[h1]Review[/h1] This my review up to level 65ish in Stormblood, [spoiler]just after the failed assassination of Zenos in Doma[/spoiler]. ARR is tedious, especially if replaying it. A lot of jobs don't get interesting until level 30-50, and ARR's story is pretty poor. A real slog. The FF3 raid content was cool, and a lot of FF14 plays like a love letter to past FF games. HW is great, one of the best stories in the entirety of FF. Though it was inevitable that the Catholic church analogue would turn out like every other Catholic church analogue in Japanese videogames. SB so far is very enjoyable. Splitting the campaign between two very different regions, Gyr Abania and Doma, provides nice contrast. So far, Zenos is shaping up to be one of my favourite FF villains. The cool oversized rotating mechanical sheathe is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ based. Jobwise I get the most enjoyment out of Ninja and Dragoon, both of which have well written job questlines. I only got Bard, Monk, and Black Mage to 50, so never did HW or SB content for them. I haven't touched any healing classes, the only tanks I've done a few dungeons with have been Paladin and Dark Knight, but I lack the confidence for tanking. Picking up a new job can be a bit annoying - the ones that start at lower levels take a ton of grinding to get it up to your main jobs, and the ones that start at a high level can be overwhelming with having 15 abilities to learn all at once. But if you have higher levelled jobs, lower level ones earn XP at a much higher rate. I've never played a better MMO, and tbh this is one of my favourite FF games ever and I've played (though not finished) every number entry plus plenty of spin offs. I can't recommend it highly enough, though the caveat of ARR's main story quest being ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ boring. Once you get to Ishgard it's 10/10 from there. [h1]SOMETHING TO KNOW BEFORE YOU BUY[/h1] The free trial lets you play up to Shadowbringers (the third expansion) nowadays, for free. There's limitations such as limits on money and the inability to join guilds I think, but that's literally hundreds if not thousands of hours of gameplay for free with no time limitations. Once you buy the game, you can only play the game with a subscription, (I have an Entry sub which is £7.69 for 30 days). So if you want to save on subs, play the free trial til you're sure you want to bite the bullet and buy to remove the limitations or to get the newer expansions or buy ♥♥♥♥ from the FFXIV online store.

Well, I started playing around a month ago and I am 413 hours in, about to start Endwalker. Sooo, do I recommend ? HELL YES! I stayed on the free trial until around 250 hours, but I just literally finished Shadowbringers as I am writing this review, and at 413 hours I could have stayed on the Free Trial, but I knew I would keep loving every bit of this game and wanted to experience it all, so yea... well worth it. Definitely try the free trial first, though. Just in case :P
