Fieldrunners

This game is one of my all time favorites for when I need to kill time. It ages well, and plays on nearly everything and is always fun.

Classic, fun little tower defense game. This game is enjoyable in its simplicity, with colorful, cartoonish graphics and easy-to-use controls (hint: make sure to learn the keyboard shortcuts). Despite its straightforward design, it offers depth, allowing for different strategies to complete each level. One issue I encountered: after playing for a few days, the game started lagging constantly—even on the title screen and during setup. While looking for a fix, I came across a suggestion to simply close the game, reboot the system and restart. Surprisingly, that fixed the problem for good, it never happened again. Even in hectic battles full of animated enemies, defenses and explosions on-screen, it plays smoothly.
