10/10 Masterpiece of Survival Eldritch Horror presented in a classical RPG way. If you can stomach the themes, and like the genre this is a must play.
good game
so i went into the woods and alot happened after that lmao
A solid sequel overall. As with the previous game, the atmosphere, story, artwork, and soundtrack are top notch. Gameplay is punishing and unfair at times but nothing that can't be overcome through some careful thought. My biggest complaint is the bugs. There are so many ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bugs in this game you'll actually think some of them are features. Probably the best example is with the trench gun. You can kill enemies outside of battles with two shots with every character, but there is also a skill called executioner that says it allows you to do the same thing. Learning the skill literally doesn't do anything, at all. I imagine you are supposed to get the skill to unlock the ability to kill enemies outside of battle with the trenchgun, but somehow its just default for every character. Sometimes bullets will just miss, some enemies are randomly invincible to ranged weapons, sometimes items wont work (yellow vial), some enemies can be looted infinitely, some skills literally do the reverse of what they are supposed to (bury the trauma for example), some skills do actually nothing (executioner, devour), etc etc. Its a bunch of small stuff that adds up to being quite noticeable over time. Overall though there are less game ruining bugs than the previous game, which is good... I guess. Also, some of the things the game tells you are straight up wrong. For example, the reapers rake item says it causes severe bleeding in its description, but this property was actually removed in a later patch of the game, leaving an incorrect description. Pep pills are the same, they say they cause withdrawal (an actual status effect in the game) in their description but have no negative effects in actuality. Its just a bunch of smaller broken stuff that adds up and lessens the experience. The core of the game is genuinely excellent, but the edges are just so rough at times. However, its still good enough that I will recommend it. It could definitely use a few patches worth of polishing though...
This game feels like being trapped in purgatory. Every enemy hits hard, supplies are scarce, and all you can do is crawl forward until you finally get things right. If you enjoy a dark atmosphere, challenging gameplay, and an interesting story, you'll definitely like this game.
Amazing family friendly game! It’s nice, inviting, and overall the experience just feels like a big hug to the players!
I have never been so terrified yet amazed by a 2d, turn-based RPG. Between the artwork, customization/skill variety, writing, and of course the lore of such a horrific world. Cannot recommend it enough for those who wish to lose their minds. 9/10
