Faulty Apprentice

Как только я запустил эту игру, я был очарован качеством рисовки и сразу начал продумывать текст для положительного обзора. Но, поиграв немного, я понял, что черновик с положительным обзором можно удалять! Я три раза подряд словил баг после седьмого дня! Первый раз у меня был просто бесконечный диалог с гоблинами, и я ничего не мог сделать! А во второй и третий раз я просто словил чёрный экран и также ничего не мог сделать (и даже выйти в меню)! Игру приходилось закрывать через диспетчер задач и перезаходить в неё. А когда я так делал, то сохранения попросту удалялись, и приходилось начинать с первого дня. А чтобы правильно с первого дня дойти до седьмого, нужно довольно много времени! Я дал игре аж три попытки, и все три попытки она провалила! Я очень редко даю подобным играм три попытки, и мне очень жаль, что я не смог поиграть в эту игру нормально:( А я ещё хотел докупить все DLC, но хорошо, что я этого не сделал… Но и в бесплатные DLC я тоже не смог сыграть, потому что, чтобы начать играть в DLC-контент, нужно пройти игру)))))) А, к сожалению, того факта, что я дошёл только до седьмого дня, игре недостаточно:) Рисовка и персонажи здесь просто восхитительные! Мне очень понравился каждый персонаж, и я хотел открыть с каждой девушкой все сцены, потому что каждая девушка действительно выглядит очень сексуально! Мини-игры тут скучные, и благо, что в настройках можно отключить их пропуск. Сюжет здесь очень странный, но за семь дней я его не понял:) Может, дальше интереснее, но я этого не узнаю:) Очень надеюсь, что следующая игра разработчика “Faulty Apprentice: Best Elf” выйдет в ближайшее время. И очень надеюсь, что багов в ней не будет! Во-первых, что стоит учитывать для данной игры перед её запуском, обязательно ставим все DLC! Если этого не сделать, то поймаете баг с невозможностью прохождения данной игры. Теперь вкратце и по сути. Это AVN-игра с мини-играми, где по сюжету история о деревенском дурачке, который оказывается втянутым в войну и должен решить, кому помочь: добру или злу. И на всё про всё даётся 15 дней. И первое, что в игре прекрасно, это проработка персонажей и их предыстории, которые открываются со временем и рисуют полную картину данного мира. С художественной части оформление превосходное. В принципе, как и звуковое, музыка приятная, а большинство реплик качественно озвучено. Большая часть моделек персонажей действительно хороши, и в некоторых специальных сценах есть анимация. Есть чиби-версии персонажей, которые используются при перемещении по карте. Есть три мини-игры, хорошо продуманные для сюжета. Вы каждый день разговариваете с обитателями замка, и у вас есть три варианта (положительный, нейтральный, отрицательный), которые влияют на их моральный дух и склонности к светлому или темному пути. Есть персонажи, с которыми можно завести отношения. У них есть шкала отношений, и она увеличивается каждый раз, когда вы разговариваете с этим персонажем. Когда шкала почти заполнена, этот персонаж может предложить вам начать отношения. Если вы примете предложение, то сразу же переспите с этим персонажем. И это вот единственный момент в игре, который сделан всрато, и тут не про саму сцену, а в том, что это ни на что не влияет. И на след день вы можете встречаться и переспать с другим персонажем. В игре в независимости от ваших отношений только две концовки — это Добро и Зло, а за продолжением банкета и другими вариантами развития событий разработчики приглашают в свои другие игры-продолжения.

No Midnight sex. Wait, no sex with anyone actually! Cute story and cute characters. A lot of good content. The "game" part specifically I don't recommend. As a work of art it is nice and I still like it. I don't want to post a really negative or discouraging review because it's obviously a very small team working on a passion project, but I would have been happier with all the story content available as a series of branching choices or routes with zero "challenge", because that's usually what great visual novels are. The extreme time crunch makes establishing "relationships" literally impossible for some characters and doesn't feel natural. The tedium of trying to talk to a very large cast of characters every single day and give all the "correct" responses every time is not fun. Again, because of the extreme time crunch, if you give one wrong response, you might lock yourself out of the ending you want. Simply extending the calendar doesn't work either, because only certain things actually pass time, and those things are finite, but you can usually only have one conversation with a character in a day. So, you do that, and then have to find "busy work" that will actually make time pass so you can sleep and then talk to the character you like again. If you mess up a couple conversations, it's basically over for that person and you need to reload a save. This is an extreme problem when there are characters who don't even exist until part way through the story. I really don't like this as a game format. The minigames are insanely hard and unintuitive, like you're trying to save your friend from spiders, so if you attack the spiders on screen, you die. How was anyone supposed to know to only hit the spiderweb objects? You can turn these off, though. I like the characters and story and art. That's why I kept playing, but replaying the entire story multiple times and always being mathematically locked out of the relationship I want is not fun, and it feels like a very literal waste of time when you can't figure out what you're doing wrong with the arbitrary schedule and time limit.

I played best elf prior and really like that game. This one I was needing more voice acting in the main game, the game play got boring.

Although the artstyle in general is quite pleasant to look at, the person who drew the nude images of the female characters must've never seen female genitalia in their whole life. Big downpoint. The story and gameplay are not compensating for this by a long shot. Besides that it's quite buggy. Sadly no recommendation for this one.

Alright, you want a rage review? You asked for it AGL Studios. *takes deep breath* I have literally cursed God's name more in the past 30 mins of my life, than Satan himself, when he was cast out of Heaven. You are not worth my rage AGL. I hate you. How is this game kept rated in the positives? I have no clue, but here is the breakdown of what you get when you play this crap. (I use the term "play" sarcastically) No continue option at main menu, even though you have saved your game and the save file exist (no, I did not modify the save files AGL). Game crashes randomly, a lot. Game runs my PC hotter than any MMO I have ever played on it. Had to start the game over 5+ times, because it wouldn't let me load my save, before giving up on it even working on my PC. I can run Lost Ark on my PC, but not this? (let that sink in) I mean, that's enough right there. I don't need to report on the rest. You had my attention with the art style. Even though the game might have been short or boring based on other reviews, I was willing to give it a shot. I can see why you only have two games under your belt, and the other one is a mobile-slot-machine-rip-off. But hey, maybe I'll review that game better than this one, IF IT WORKS. Now yes, to be fully honest, this game does run on my Steam Deck, and for now, has none of the issues mentioned above. (it's a over half a grand powerhouse, it better damn run this crap) But I've lost all interest in playing this garbage. I'm not spending my weekend with your products. Maybe I'll play it one day, when I cool off, and if it doesn't brick my Steam Deck. That is a really, REALLY big maybe. I'm not returning it, I support great art, so if I gave some Taco Bell to the person/s who drew everything, I'm ok with that. But I can't tell you, AGL, what I REALLY want to tell you, because I'd be banned from Steam. (let that sink in) For now, I now have an ax called AGL Studios, and I am grinding the hell out of it. Overall: 0/10

A visual novel with dating sim and RPG elements, with some light sexual content. Honestly, the writing is really good. The story is a neat take on fantasy cliches and the characters are all wonderfully diverse without leaning into cliche archetypes too much. The art is whimsical and nails the fantasy aesthetic. And the minimal voice acting is perfect, though I wish it was all dialogue.
