This game is absolute PEAK! most people leaving negative reviews are only really mentioning the fact that the game is "too abstract", "too boring", or "the game just revolves around the menu" which is all fair, but you did buy the game knowing that. Personally, this is one of my favorite indie games that ive found in awhile. ive only gotten like 6/10 endings so far but I think all the dialoue, all the characters, all the secrets, all the endings are all just Mwah! chefs kiss. This game is more like a piece of art than a traditional video game. It has an amazing aesthetic and bryce bucher did an AMAZING job! its very, like, forgotten used CD rom cursed digital world type of vibe but I ABSOLUTELY dig it. Its defanitely not for everyone, but personally I thinks its a phenamenoul masterpiece that should absolutely be on your list of games you wish to play! Overall id say its a 9.5/10! the only thing that is holding it back is the fact that the game does not have much direction but personally I think thats part of the experience, defanitely dont feel any shame in using a guide!
I think some of the locations are pretty un-discoverable ie the
bush leading to the island
. I didn't really like some of the endings, the oil and wine ones were sorta high-school-edgy for example. The music was phenomenal, and I loved the autumn and island locations.
Maybe a little too abstract for my tastes. The game is rite with symbolism and metaphors and seems to hold a lot of secrets, but the gameplay is nothing but "use inventory item on every possible hotspot, see what happens" ad nauseum. I'm fine with vagueness and at first I enjoyed how the game kept things close to its vest, but you very quickly realize that the only way to make progress and uncover secrets is to be so precise that the only way to find everything is to either guess-and-check forever or pull up a guide. Beneath the cool graphics and interesting dialogue is a very basic adventure game that requires no skill or strategy to beat. If you're okay with that, cool, you'll love this, but I was hoping the gameplay would be a match for the ideas, and they simply weren't
really nice visuals, great soundscape, still lingering in my mind to this day after playing it. thank u fatum betula
Pretty damn good.
