About
Fathom's End is a first-person lighthouse keeper simulation set on a lone tower far out in the Atlantic. Miles from land, the lighthouse is yours to run.
You maintain the beacon, manage its systems, respond to radio calls, and keep the light turning through long nights and unpredictable weather.
The work is slow. Long stretches of careful observation, watching over systems that don't always announce when they need attention. The main lamp can blow. The clutch can jam. A breaker trips, the lens dirties, the evaporator needs priming. There are over a dozen systems to learn and monitor, and faults develop whether you're paying attention or not. Every lapse carries weight. It's a slow, tactile experience about isolation, repetition, and quiet persistence.
Immersive first-person simulation – Operate and monitor the lighthouse's systems: lamps, clutch, generator, foghorn, radar, radio, and more. Each one needs regular attention. Neglect has consequences.
Dynamic weather and atmosphere – Experience storms, fog, and calm seas in a detailed and reactive Atlantic environment.
Daily routine and responsibility – Maintain the light, manage resources, and complete daily logs for the Maritime & Navigation Lighthouse Authority.
Isolation as gameplay – Embrace the quiet, the repetition, and the weight of duty. The tower won't run itself and it won't always tell you when something's wrong.
Survival through scarcity – Track hunger and thirst, budget limited funds, and plan carefully to afford infrequent supply drops.
Living world beyond the horizon – Encounter unique radio calls from passing ships and distant stations, hinting at a wider world you’ll never see.
Fathom's End is in Early Access. The current experience represents the core simulation. Substantial new systems, activities, and content are planned to keep the player busy, especially during the quieter moments. Below is the 2026 roadocean map with just a selection of features planned to be added this year alongside significant performance improvements and bug fixes.

Reviews
I usually don't write reviews on Steam, but Fathom's End deserves an exception. As the game description says, it is a Lighthouse Simulation game. You are the keeper of Fathom's End, which is located 200 miles offshore, and your job is to keep the lighthouse running. Take incoming calls from ships, keep an eye on the lamps, fix problems, make the lighthouse your home. Don't expect any kind of jump scares. This game doesn't have any. Just the routine. And somehow this was, or I should say is, for me more than enough to get hooked since the moment I started testing it. Time honestly flies while playing the game. I really love the atmosphere of Fathom's End. It's calm without being empty. Lonely without being depressing. Relaxed and chill without being boring. And every now and then it can get pretty demanding. One of the main reasons, besides the sounds in the game like the waves, weather effects and the noises inside the lighthouse from the console and the other items, is the music. It fits the game so well, feels never out of place. It is a part of "Fathom's End" and "belongs" to it. Another thing I really enjoy about the game are the interactive parts, like opening windows, fishing, cooking, the ability to listen to music and much more. As I mentioned further up, ships are a part of the game. Every single one of them is voiced by a real person - voice actors, friends, people Max (aka the dev) knows. In a time where AI voices are everywhere, that's something I genuinely appreciate. What makes all of this even more impressive for me is that Fathom's End is a one-man project. It just launched into Early Access, which means there is still a lot more to come. I've been lucky enough to know about and follow it from the beginning of development and I'm really glad it's finally out there for everyone. If this sounds like your kind of game, I honestly don't think you'll regret giving it a shot.
I at first had my doubts but this is a pretty cool lighthouse keeper game that you can just relax and run your light house, so when you want to take a break from fighting aliens or swashbuckling the seas, this is a great choice
Really enjoying playing this game. As it says in the description this is a simulator that requires you to spin multiple plates as you navigate your way through night shifts on a remote Lighthouse. The elements that make up your gameplay are thoroughly thought through, ranging from taking calls of vessels in your shipping lanes, to maintaining the different working elements of a lighthouse in the 80s. There is never a dull moment as the calls keep coming from the ships asking you for information as well as the regular reports you need to send to the mainland. I have never been much of a simulator guy but this has kept me enthralled to a point where my normal streaming schedule has completely gone out of the window to fit in a shift on Fathom! The soundtrack is simple and beautiful with gorgeous instrumentals that help build the atmosphere of being alone in the Mid-Atlantic. The voice work is brilliant with well over 20 different ships each with their individual captain with their own personality. Top work on sourcing so many top quality voice actors with a project of this size. Right now, we can only play the base game elements, but the scope for this game (still in early access) is unFATHOMable. There is already more than enough for you to do, with having to not only operate the lighthouse but ration food, order supplies, fish for your supper, cooking and managing power. But, with future narratives and relationships to foster with the different ship captains and future customisable elements to help make your lighthouse a home, it's kind of a no brainer to me. Great game, I'm absolutely loving it and for the price it's a steal! Would 100% recommend this game to cozy streamers who like to chat. Would 100% recommend this game to anyone who enjoys a good simulator. Would 100% recommend this game!
I've been following this game for a little while now, and I've been watching some Twitch streamers play, so when the game released on early access, I jumped at buying. I've only managed just under 40 minutes in between work and life commitments, but already very very much enjoying the game. The graphics are really nice and I'm getting 100 fps, I think you can see my specs attached to this review for comparison. Controls are easy to get used to and comparable to other simulation games I've played and enjoyed. I'm excited to play more and I'm very excited to see the direction this games goes in over it's development. I'm aware it's early access so it's nice to be at the start of something and I'm sure help develop the game as it grows, I can already see bug and patch updates responsive to what players are saying, which is great news. Would highly recommend as a chill out, (mostly) relaxing simulation game, with pretty graphics and nice mechanics. Neither too difficult or easy, once you get the hang of it either. Side note, the fog horn is my favourite and music choices are lovely too!!
A truly unique, niche simulator that absolutely thrives on its lonely, north Atlantic atmosphere. Massively recommend if you enjoy vermillion sunrises, crisp sea air, and the big clonky buttons of a 1980s electrical console. Cannot wait to see how the story develops!
Fathom's End is a wonderful lightkeeper sim, The lighthouse has a simple layout, yet running the place night by night is an engagingly complex task, juggling faults with radio calls from passing ships. Getting to the end of a shift with no faults and managing to correctly answer all incoming calls is also extremely satisfying, Straddling the line between cosy and stressful just right, if you're looking for a (mostly) relaxing time, you really shouldn't pass up on this.
This game can be very calm and peaceful at times, but... something bad can always happen as well. So you have to do your job seriously. It's equally ZEN and EXCITING. Good game! Recommend buying
It is a great honor to be the first simplified Chinese review Let's start with a brief review of the game. The overall rating is 7/10, and I would like to recommend this game in general: +The simplified Chinese translation is well done, ensuring a smooth gaming experience. It's truly rare for such a low-budget game to have such a polished translation +The game currently has a well-structured daily process, offering decent playability and a highly immersive atmosphere +Full radio voice acting, with distinct voices for different ships, further enhancing the atmosphere ~The modeling is relatively refined, but the camera rotation feels somewhat jerky. Considering the low cost, it's still acceptable -The current playable content of the game is relatively limited, consisting mainly of tutorials and occasional incidents to handle. Most of the time, you'll just be idling around. However, the developer mentioned there will be more storylines and lighthouse DIY content coming soon—let's keep our fingers crossed Now let's talk about my gaming experience I stumbled upon it while searching for simulation games and found it quite interesting. I've experienced a three-day workflow and will likely open it occasionally for quick sessions in the future. The game gives me the greatest feeling: alone but not lonely You are truly alone. On the lighthouse, everything is handled by yourself—eating, drinking, listening to music, turning lights on and off, and dealing with accidents. All actions are undertaken solely by oneself. You are not lonely because your work is meaningful. As a lighthouse keeper, you serve as a guide for the sea, providing ships with navigational references. Whether it's windy, rainy, foggy, or clear weather, as long as you keep the light shining, communication smooth, and the fog bell ringing, ships on the sea can always know their location thanks to your efforts. Occasional communication also delivers the information they need. Whenever a ship leaves your jurisdiction, their gratitude is genuine, and your heartfelt wishes for "safe passage" are equally sincere. Perhaps the gameplay is currently lacking, but the atmosphere is absolutely top-notch. This game may not suit everyone, but if you're tired of the overwhelming spectacle of modern gaming, consider it a cybernetic haven. May the lighthouse shine brightly through the long night.
I don't usually leave reviews for games but, this deserves all the recognition and praise that I can give! This is YOUR Lighthouse, There are many like it, but this one is YOURS! The game starts with a quick and easy to follow tutorial on the basics of the main game mechanic which gives you all the information required to play the game. Then we get a glimpse of what could be included in a future story related update...... On to the main gameplay. You are sent to the most remote lighthouse in the North Atlantic, Fathom's End, where you take on the responsibility of running the lighthouse and making sure all the ships in the area remain safe. Log your hourly reports, Make a bit of money, Order supplies, Keep track of the ships, Maintain your lighthouse. This really is an amazing game. No stress, really nice mechanics, and such a smooth gameplay experience. The game is in early access and there will be more added in the future that will just add to the whole experience. I personally cannot wait to see what is in store next! A truly amazing effort from a One-Man-Developer!
