Congratulations, you’ve bought your own planet! An agrarian rock at the edge of the galaxy that, for some reason, was practically being given away for free. So the time has come to leave your hectic, stressful life in an overcrowded metropolis for a more rural and rewarding life.

Wish there was more to this game, or a bit more freedome of travel i seem ot have gotten myself stuck with no batteries for the space ship to travel, so i guess im stuck on the farm world until i can sell enough and hope that the vendor will have one in his supply, which seems like a lot of just waiting and hoping.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Farlands has a solid foundation and a gameplay loop that kept me engaged. The ship travel system is one of its stronger points—it feels different from a lot of other farming/life sim games and does a good job of making travel between locations feel like part of the adventure rather than just a loading screen. That said, the game feels like it reached 1.0 before it reached its full potential. The core systems are enjoyable, but many of them are very bare bones. Throughout my playthrough I kept finding myself thinking, "This would be a great place to expand the mechanic," only to realize there wasn't much more to it. The framework is there, but a lot of the depth never materializes. The biggest disappointment is simply the length. Just as it felt like the game was opening up, it was over. It gives the impression that the developers were eager to cross the 1.0 finish line instead of letting the game develop more naturally. Overall, I still recommend Farlands because what's here is fun, and I enjoyed my time with it. I just can't shake the feeling that it could have been so much more with additional content and deeper systems. Hopefully future updates continue building on what is already a strong foundation. I'd only recommend for fans of the farm sim genre.
1.0 and still needs a lot of work. I've encountered basic bugs like being able to plant on non-tilled soil, being able to plant seeds over the top of other seeds. Other dev decisions like days with storms where you can't leave your house (when you have a ship that can leave the planet). Game was obviously not designed with controllers in mind as the pointer will bind to spots that are not in front of you, making fighting in the mines far more difficult as you're trying to water rocks instead of warding off the enemies. Many items still lack descriptions so you have no clue if it is a functional or decorative item until after you buy it. So many days I just reset because you end up going to a planet that doesn't have the resources you're looking for.
I wish reviews had a neutral option! This game isn’t bad, it just feels… unfinished. And I really wanted to love Farlands, I really did. The art and music is beautiful, the story intriguing, and the characters diverse. But the actual gameplay is lacking! The farm is massive, but there is nothing to do with all this space. The most automation you can achieve is placing sprinklers, so giant fields are just not an option if you want to do anything else other than harvesting. And the coups/barns look nice, but are completely useless. Animal products are not needed for the Ark, and only make some money. And if you fill them all to the max, you’ll need to refill their food every day. Apparently they also are taken away if you haven’t taken care of them for a while, which in early game I imagine to be impossible. Especially because grass doesn’t regrow on your farm, so if you run out you’ll need to spend half a day travelling somewhere. There are a bunch of cute tutorial pop-ups. But there are still lots of things not explained at all. Robeets? Have fun trying to click on them a bunch of times in confusion without any results. The mist on Darmstad? No, your game didn’t just glitch. It is actually supposed to teleport you back to the mine's entrance! The item descriptions in general are really lacking. Food doesn’t show how much stamina it’s regenerating. CHIPS won’t tell you what crafting materials will be needed before buying them. Seed packs don’t say if the crop will regrow on its own. Interacting with NPCs is repetitive. Other than achievements the only reward for socialising are some okay heart-events. Festivals are boring. Other than buying CHIPS, there is nothing to do. There also might be friendship decay!? I don’t know if it’s a bug or intended, but I lost all my friendship levels with multiple characters for no apparent reason other than not talking to them for a week. All the romanceable NPC are also teenagers or young adults at best, which feels weird at times. Especially in early game, your inventory will always be full. You can’t place chests next to the mines entrance, Ark portal, or on other planets in general. With the exception of the net and fishing pole, the game won’t allow you to leave any tools behind. You also can’t upgrade your net or fishing pole at the blacksmith, instead you can buy new ones from different vendors. Are they actually any better than the ones you get in the beginning? No idea! The game won’t tell you. I didn’t experience as many bugs as other people are reporting. Mostly wonky enemy hitboxes, a combat tutorial only showing up at the second mines I entered, and an exclamation mark next to Terbin for the last week without any cutscene or event when I’m visiting. But nothing game breaking. Honestly, if the devs hadn’t stated that there were no more content updates coming, I probably wouldn't be writing this review. But paying around 15 bucks (plus another five, if you want the soundtrack) for a game that still feels like it’s in beta, doesn’t feel right. Farlands has a lot of potential to be an amazing game, and I truly hope the dev team reconsiders expanding it!
