I absolutely loved this game, its very hard for games to make me care, to cry and beg for more time. It was so hard to watch the endings for each character and how sad some turned out, mostly for Nil, Fraype and Mocha. Those 3 hurt the most and it really stuck to my heart, (spoilery) it really hurt to watch them be sad, lose their friends, be used to repeat a day infinitely and to watch someone they loved die. I payed attention to the details they added and it all hit me hard, i havn't touched this after i beat it in 2 days? and it all still lingers in my heart. Knowing the game is over just, its hard to explain but i want to spend more time with the characters, i want a chapter 3, i want another game, i don't want to let them go yet. Yes their are some bugs here and there, some odd wording misshaps and some other really not so important iffy things. I still recommend you try this game out and just let yourself sink into their world as you meet and hangout with everyone, Definitely do the novel mode as it lets you learn the full story and learn somethings that characters reference now and then. Sometimes you'll hear them say something you don't remember happening till you do another story line and then it happens. You start to piece things together and after a few story lines and after you do mocha, the Victory day song starts to make full sense more then you think.

It's interesting how degenerate you can make something without it being age restricted on Steam. Although if you think about it, there probably aren't any laws against animal nudity. I mean, Tom & Jerry were completely naked the whole time and we just never really questioned it. The artwork is consistent, and of a fairly high standard, provided you can handle industrial strength furry cringe. UI is a broken mess. Not sure why they didn't just use renPy. Oh, so you press D to see the text log, and S to skip, but the game doesn't tell you this until you have been playing it for about 2 hours. Some rather bad English/grammar: 'jolted back to intention' I think you mean 'attention'? 'I follow allow to attempt to blend in' I think you mean 'along'? This sort of thing happens a lot. A bit of proof reading would be good. Giving this a thumbs up mostly just because I respect the technical skill of the artist and all the hard work they put in. Oh, the player character just insisted on being called 'they'. My review is now negative. Easy come easy go ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Really great characters and writing! though coding and scenes isn't it's strong suit due to the buggy menus, inconsistent with backgrounds and character sprites to the context of what's going on, and the music (at least for the first volume) is pretty bad and can get tiresome to hear for a long period of time, which you might end up doing, would be great if they remastered the game and even added extra content such as post game content for the characters, or alternative endings you can achieve after post game, nonetheless a good experience to play through that some could relate to.
"A tender tapestry of emotion, connection, and unexpected magic." Familiar Travels is one of those rare visual novels that doesn’t just tell a story—it invites you into someone else’s heart. You play as a mid‑twenty‑something grappling with imposter syndrome and fledgling magic at Vanaheim Institute, trying to make sense of belonging, relationships, and your place in a world that feels both alien and familiar What makes it shine: Emotional authenticity: The characters feel alive. Their conversations—about fandom, identity, heartbreak, and joy—hit like real life in cozy dim-lit rooms . Open‑world choice: Walk where you will. Whether spending time in the art studio, the café, or the library, each choice weaves into your relationships, shaping conversations and outcomes . Beautiful artistry and music: Over 100 detailed illustrations and a 30+ track soundtrack paint Vanaheim with texture and warmth. Each route glows with subtle animation and emotional beats that linger Depth and replayability: Two volumes, 300k+ words, and multiple character arcs with 20+ endings—this is a journey you’ll revisit with fresh eyes and different hearts Yes, the Steam version keeps things SFW through chapter one, but the emotional core hits hard long before anything steams up and while the NSFW scenes arrive later, the early volume is perfect for diving into the soul of the story at a gentle pace Final Verdict: 9/10 Familiar Travels is a love letter to fandom and friendship, a warm hug in digital form, and a meditation on how we find connection—both online and in heart. Whether you're healing, curious, or simply in need of a good conversation, Vanaheim awaits. Highly recommended for lovers of character-driven stories, emotional authenticity, and beautifully wrought art.
Good art and catching story. Not to save at the beginning which is pretty confounding because its like you having to make it to a page in a book that allows a book mark except you have no way of knowing where that page is. Other than that its pretty good.
its cool
In all honesty, Familiar Travels is really, REALLY good. No, it's downright amazing! There are few times I get so immersed into a fictional world that I am craving for more when it came to it's characters like Mocha, Fraype, and the other cast members. Why, the character artwork is done by none other than my personal favorite Furry Artist, Gillpanda, so if you're a huge fan of his artwork whether on DeviantArt, Furaffinity, or any other website that showcases his incredible artwork, you'll fall in love with the designs of these characters. Overall, if you're looking to pass the time, I'd absolutely recommend Familiar Travels, both Volume One and Volume Two.
Familiar Travels is a visual novel game whit Furry beside you the human player i loving the sorry so far and love all the characters in this Novel there no game play like beating up the bad guy or something like that it a story and have some multiple choices if you love visual novel whit a good story this game is for you
It's a wonderful game. Great story and some great messaging too. The team just needs to fix a couple of bugs here and there. But overall, it's a great gaming experience.
This game is pretty good just the first chapter alone was enjoyable and when added the second volume its gives a wonderful closing of the game does messes with your mind abit. There are glitches so i would say save often to not lose your progress now some endings will glitch out and make it not achievable so i do like the Novel Mode because it lets you access the true ending so you can what the end goal is like. Fun Game NSFW parts are okay but if you dont want to see them you can skip them. 8/10 hey i do love a furry game =^^=.
