----------------------------------------- Even though it's free, I don't recommend it, in the game all you do is walk around looking at a minimap and choose when to avoid and face enemies, I would recommend other RPGs with more content, but if you have NOTHING else to play, it doesn't hurt to try, it's only 100 mbs.
Originally a $4.99 game that went Free. Has a few-minute shelf life than just dies. Music will just stop when it's done playing leaving you to play in silence, it doesn't even repeat.
Coold map-side view combination, but otherwise very underwhelming game.
FAMAZE, retro temalı, roguelike bir bulmaca macera oyunudur. Her biri benzersiz özel güçlere sahip atılgan Şövalyeyi, kurnaz Hırsızı veya mistik Sihirbazı seçin. Rutabagaları kurtarmak için Mad King'in sürekli değişen zindanına dalın! Asla aynı oyunu iki kez! Müzik Disasterpeace'den, Sanat ise Oryx'ten.
Famaze, developed and published by Oryx Design Lab, is a compact roguelike dungeon crawler that blends puzzle design with strategic movement in a way that feels closer to a tactical board game than a traditional action RPG. At first glance, its pixel-art presentation and simple controls suggest a light, accessible experience, but the game quickly reveals a more methodical core built around careful planning and calculated decision-making. The central gameplay loop revolves around navigating procedurally generated mazes filled with enemies, hazards, and resources. Each run presents a new layout, ensuring that players cannot rely on memorization and must instead adapt to the situation at hand. Movement is grid-based, and every step carries weight, as health and resources are limited. This creates a constant tension where progress is not just about reaching the exit, but about managing risk—deciding which paths to take, which encounters to engage, and when to conserve strength for later challenges. One of the game’s most distinctive features is its dual-layer presentation. Players move their character based on a top-down map that dictates positioning and navigation, while a separate side-view display shows the character interacting with the environment. This separation between what you see and how you move forces players to think abstractly, focusing on spatial awareness rather than direct visual cues. It can feel unintuitive at first, but once understood, it becomes the foundation of the game’s challenge, encouraging players to plan routes and anticipate outcomes rather than react in the moment. Combat is intentionally simplified, removing complex mechanics in favor of direct, automatic interactions. When the player collides with an enemy, both sides take damage, turning every encounter into a calculated trade-off. This design shifts the focus away from reflexes and toward strategy, as players must constantly evaluate whether an encounter is worth the cost. Environmental elements such as traps, light sources, and collectible items add further layers to this system, transforming each level into a puzzle where movement, positioning, and timing all play a role in survival. Character selection adds variety to the experience, with different heroes offering unique abilities that influence how the dungeon is approached. Each character encourages a slightly different playstyle, whether through increased survivability, mobility, or resource management. While these differences are not drastic enough to completely change the structure of the game, they provide enough variation to make repeated runs feel distinct and encourage experimentation. Visually, Famaze adopts a retro pixel-art style that complements its straightforward design. The environments are simple but functional, ensuring that important elements are easy to identify during gameplay. The accompanying chiptune-inspired soundtrack reinforces the nostalgic tone, creating an atmosphere that feels consistent with the game’s minimalist approach. However, the presentation does little to evolve over time, and the lack of visual variety can make longer sessions feel repetitive. Despite its strengths, the game’s limitations become more apparent with extended play. The core mechanics, while clever, do not expand significantly as the game progresses, leading to a sense of repetition. Runs are relatively short, which helps maintain pacing but also highlights the limited scope of the experience. Additionally, the unconventional navigation system may not appeal to all players, particularly those who prefer more direct or action-oriented gameplay. Ultimately, Famaze succeeds as a focused and thoughtfully designed roguelike that prioritizes strategy over complexity. It offers a unique take on dungeon crawling, emphasizing planning and efficiency rather than reflex-based combat. While its small scale and repetitive structure prevent it from achieving broader appeal, it remains a satisfying and distinctive experience for players who enjoy deliberate, puzzle-like gameplay.
