[b]Platform: Desktop PC | Time: 49hrs (some DLC) | Rating: 3.5/5[/b] [b]What is it:[/b] A post-apocalyptic RPG where you explore a vast world and interact with a variety of character types, building a character through the choices you make and playstyle you develop. [b]Pros:[/b] The game presents you with a beautiful environment, tons of things to explore, and an amazing story to keep you engaged for hours on end. The weapons and armor have so much variety in weapons and armor to let you play exactly how you want to play, while staying difficult enough to rarely feel overpowered. [b]The bad:[/b] The performance of this game is genuinely terrible. It’s the first game I’ve played where I feel like 80% of the time, it is actively trying to get you to stop playing. This may have been worsened by being on Linux but given that I’ve heard the warning about performance before I started playing, I can’t imagine it’s much better on Windows. [b]Good for:[/b] Fans of post-apocalyptic worlds looking to explore, interact with humorous characters, and fine-tune a character to call their own. Similar games include: Fallout New Vegas, Fallout 4, the Elder Scrolls, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. [b]Verdict:[/b] This is a fantastic game being held back by one thing almost singlehandedly - performance. What made a 10/10 drop all the way down to a 7/10 (generously) because I kept having to restart from saves at least 2-3 times per play session. Even ultimately stopping me from finishing the game as there was an unpassable glitch in one of the DLCs. It might be better on Windows, but my honest advice is to wait for the remake if you can.

The storyline, gameplay, and all over story arc of the player character in this title is exquisite. Two thumbs way up!!!

cult classic first fps version fallout. replayable but the base game needs a remaster or played with mods due to how bad it actually can be while playing.

Или когда вы решаете прогуляться по болотам в Point Lookout, а местные реднеки оказываются крепче, чем супермутанты-бегемоты? Именно за это безумие и атмосферу бесконечного, густого одиночества мы и любим эту игру. Да, стрельба здесь деревянная, как довоенный комод. Да, чтобы запустить её на Windows 10/11 без вылетов каждые пять минут, нужно сдать экзамен по программированию и поставить десяток фанатских патчей. Но когда ты активируешь V.A.T.S., отстреливаешь голову рейдеру под джаз 50-х годов и исследуешь очередное заброшенное убежище с жуткой историей — игре прощаешь всё. Издание GOTY исправило главное преступление оригинала: теперь после финальных титров игра не заканчивается, а дает возможность набрать 30-й уровень и вместе с Либерти Праймом разнести остатки Анклава. 10 рад-иксов из 10. Пойду выпью Ядер-Колы из унитаза, чтобы восстановить здоровье».
