Wow, this game is BAD! Not even worth the discounted price I paid for it. I played 3 'matched' and then lost all interest, because the UI is horrendous: it registers less then 1 in 10 clicks so upgrading your 3 different types of towers to a maximum of level 3 (which the text doesn't even reflect, I thought I was just pissing away money until I noticed the towers were a little better than before) is very difficult -- but not in a good way (probably terrible coding). Refunded before I ruin my mouse by trying to click even harder... Stay away!
Its not bad concept but it is unfinished. Developers should really work on the Health bars, damage recived bars on the creeps. Also major problem is u really have to click alot so that u can select the tower and upgrade him(its really anoying and not playable). Creeps get stuck behind each other( its good coz u got extra time for the towers to finish them but its not point for a TD game). No difficulty selection , maps sudenly going dark. Its cheap to buy it now and waiting till the developers fix the problems and do some improvements in the game.
This game looked promising at first, but after actually playing it was boring and just not fun. Only 3 towers available and they only upgrade 2x before maxing. You repeat the same maps over and over again for the story and after clearing 4 or 5 maps I finally got to see a different map but the difficulty spike so hard that there was no way to beat it. Hopefully with more development they could stream line the game and add some customization options as it is a fairly good looking game and the theme works well for it. Never got to seen any of the supposed cut scenes. TLDR: Game needs a lot of work before it could be considered, so I recommend passing for now
I'm a fan of tower defense but this game is really horrible! Even at a discount this game is not worth the quality of game play to dollar ratio. Really bad game don't buy it unless it's at a 99.999% discount. Don't do it!!!
i really like the game looks promising. but i hope the update will add health bar to the enemies
Warning: Asset Flip! Faith & Shield:4044 Tower Defense is a Digital Homicide style asset flip, or what Valve calls a "Fake Game". The "developer" paid for/pirated a few Unity asset store assets, dumped them all in a blender, and submitted it to Valve as if they're real game developers.
Two notable criteria for what makes an asset flip instead of legitimate use of stock assets are whether those assets comprise the majority of the game, and whether the "developer" properly credited the people who created most of the assets in the game. This game fails both of those tests. The "developers" here didn't credit any of the artists and real, actual game developers who created the assets here, so this is plagiarism, as well as cash grab shovelware. In this case, the asset flipper took the Tower Defense Toolkit 4 from "SongGameDev" on the Unity Asset Store, slapped a few asset flipped objects and effects on it, and tried to pass off the toolkit as if it was their own work. It has no value or merit as a real game. As always when developers can't work out how to create their own assets, they can't do the rest of the job of a game developer and that's painfully obvious here. This dry-paint-generic TD game is clunky, uninspired, and downright boring to play. Taking this shovelware seriously as if it was a genuine attempt to make a game, it doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The mismatched game assets are fairly mediocre/low quality, it's a wonder why they couldn't be bothered "borrowing" higher quality assets for this asset flip. This is a lot like going on a shoplifting spree but only stealing the cut price store brand goods. Regardless, the poor quality assets alone should be enough to deter gamers from bothering with this. The controls can't be customised because the game has such a dumbed down, simplified interface that it's just point and click stuff like a browser/Flash game. The fact that the interface is this dumbed down might be seen as a problem in itself, however... this is a fairly shallow experience if you're the kind of gamer that likes to play games with deep, rich control schemes and interaction. You'll get none of that here. PC gamers will be insulted by the interface for this game as the mobile app devs demand you tap/swipe on your screen to interface with the game. While this is probably just due to sheer laziness from the mobile devs behind this game, it's offensive disrespect to PC gamers and a sign of an extremely shoddy mobile port. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 5 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 110,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. This kind of asset flipping isn't harmless. It makes it harder for gamers to find genuinely made games from ethical developers. It makes it harder for genuine indie developers, who put hard work into trying to make real games, to find an audience for their products. It gives indie developers a bad name. So, should you buy this asset flip? Is this better than any of the 110,000+ genuinely made games on Steam? Of course not! Faith & Shield:4044 Tower Defense has the gamer gouging price of around $5 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam. For comparison, the $5 asking price for this game could get you games like "Batman: Arkham City", "Far Cry 3" or "This War of Mine". Quality, professionally made games like those are frequently on sale cheaper than this.
Imagine if you will, a tower defense game that, at best is made by someone who has never played one before, or at worst, simply hates them, and wants you to hate them as well. That would be this game. On the plus side, it looks pretty enough. Certainly a lot of time was spent putting together the visuals. That's the end of the plus side. Though the sounds might be for some people, as there is a lot of R2D2 beeping and booping out of the game. The downsides are many. The maps are small and confining, and also poorly designed. The first four levels or so are the same map, a small affair, the second actually has stretches where the place you can place towers are too far away from the roads to actually hit the targets much of the time. Targeting is broken, as once a tower picks a target, it seems to stick with it, even when targets nearer the exit (the setting I put all my towers on) run towards the exit. The towers, the crux of any tower defense game, are tepid and uninspiring, there being three towers, machine gun, rockets and lasers, each which level up twice without any options or choices to be made. Odd thing, when the machine gun hits an enemy, that enemy tends to stop, and stand there till killed. This made the first boss, (a giant slug, even though every other foe is a robot of some kind) really anti-climactic. There is the most meager, wafer thin attempt at fluff, at the very start, far from satisfying. And there are no strategic options what so ever. Put it all together and it is a game I paid seventy-four cents for, and feel like I didn't get my moneys worth. Two thumbs down, the only thing approaching a plus (besides the visuals) is that everything seems to work.
WASTE OF MONEY
Cute little tower defense game for low-spec PCs. Enemies ARE damage sponges. Experimenting a bit with tower placement and type seems to help, though.
Basic tower defence game, but the locations are mostly limited, you have to utilize the locations you have and select it wiseley, first waves are challenging but after upgrading towers, other waves get simpler. But the towers should be balanced, lazer tower is most powerfull, I didnt feel like missile one is usable but, Its fun to build lazer tower at max level and see the enemies burst as stack. Cheap price for tower defence game
