Over the last 9 months I've spent an average of 41 hours per week on this game. How do I have so much free time, you ask? I do not. It is only by God's grace and a professor's mercy I somehow managed to pass last semester at college. There is a certain addicting joy to making a machine that just runs and makes stuff. Also I should note, I had 2 friends who already knew the game well who I played multiplayer with to show me the ropes. I was kinda just along for the ride and only felt so-so about it until I got to Vulcanus, played on my own a bit, and the power failed. I was by myself, and had to figure out how to get the power running again on my own. I did. And it clicked and was immensely rewarding. That, and the sheer ambience and vibe of the feeling of wonder when I landed on Vulcanus - those were what really made me fall in love with the game. Also I love the graphics for the circuits and sulfur. I literally bought a real fist-sized sulfur crystal as a desktop decoration just because of how much I liked the sulfur icon, lol. And novelty circuitboard-looking drink coasters and old computer parts off Etsy just as some random novelty decorations that look like the game's circuits, lol.
i played factorio and now i'm the qc engineer of a factory making construction hardware. don't let it happen to you.
i think i have adhd
I took this question to mean "Do you think this is a fantastic game that deserves praise?" Which I can only answer with a resounding yes. This game is a modern game that competes with classic all time genre-defining games like Sim City (2k) or Civilization in terms of gaming experience. If I were to take the question literally, I would have to answer NO. Stay away from this game before it consumes you. It is digital crack. Waking minutes away from the game are just time you can use to strategise your big picture expansion plans.
It is currently 2 in the morning. I can't stop. please... help. I can't stop the cracktorio.
factory must grow.
