I played the first episode of the game. It's not terrible, but there's very little to no player agency. The gameplay consists of clicking on everything so the story gets revealed. The story itself is not particularly deep or intriguing and the writing is kind of stilted.
do you support women's wrongs. alternately, do you think it's charming when gods are a little bit stupid about humans. or, have you previously played other tymedust games in the purgatory series. if you answered yes to any of these queries you will add ezrebeth to cart immediately. go go go go go go go go go the writing on this thing is Great and the art is as charming as ever. ezrebeth as a piece has an amazing ability to shift between scenes that are profoundly touching and moments of deep ontological horror and discomfort and it Rules So Much. in short, i <3 my mean grandma. remm is still horrible (fond) (derogatory) (adoring) and i love her even more deeply after having part of "why is remm" explored onscreen. like genuinely i cannot wait to see more of this godawful gang in more adventures through time and space being divas and refusing to learn anything/dragged kicking and screaming into character development that goes on to Make Things Worse, Somehow. truly great entertainment if you love heartfelt art about gross emotions and/or the horrors. 10/10 stuff, Will shill to my friends And my neighbors
another chapter of the purgatoryverse lore..... revealed!!! i love ezrebeth. she can be very mean sometimes but spending time with her in this game, learning about her and her life was so moving. her story has fantastical elements, but it's so true in its core. who never felt out of place, but still trying to fit anyway? and episode 2 made it so much heartbreaking. i'll avoid spoilers but these two are beautiful, aching and bittersweet. also, i've never been too fond of remm as a character to be honest, but seeing her innerworkings exposed in episode 3 was a very intriguing and satisfying experience. seeing how she tries to "understand" humanity, the reasons behind it, and how the gears of her operate was just as i imagined to be -- it made me so angry and terrified LOOOOOOOLLLLL. absolute banger, as always. def recommend!
Hello! I am just letting you know that this game is 3.7 hours if you read fast and I even failed to finish the first episode for a while. It's very good art, music, and writing. The drama is intense and the characters are well developed. The story is LITERALLY ONE OF THE BEST VISUAL NOVELS EVER!!! Especially the whole series in which I recommend you play for ultimate feels: Pitstop to Purgatory, The Guide(?), The Painting, and then Ezrebeth and this series isn't finished yet! I feel a sense of closure otherwise I'd be upset to wait for a sequel cuz this is REALLY GOOD STORY and WRITING and ART STYLE and CHARACTERS. Lots of different assets and the point and click really makes this game shine. I love all the characters and the references are great if you played Pitstop to Purgatory first which I highly reccomend. I am not going to spoil anything but I will warn you IT IS NOT LIGHT HORROR it's A LITTLE MORE EXTREME SO BE WARNED! It's also MUCH MORE EXCITING THAT IT LOOKS. DEFINTELY BUY IT AT FULL PRICE - 3.7 hours of fun and I literally went on a ROLLERCOASTER OF EMOTIONS. 10/10!!! I WOULDN:T CHANGE A THING!
