Purchased early access. Expecting more concerning DEV's previous work. Gold chain chaingun enemies cinched it for me. Hoping they get enough funding to allow it to flourish.
Amazing blend of ideas and great execution. Only thing I would add is a meta progression system, but even without that it's really fun.
Very fun game
Eye of the Commando is a love letter to the DOS era of games without any of the baggage. It has an impossibly stacked OST. The gameplay is frenetic and fun but still moves at your pace. It's a good goofy time that I would hand to anybody.
This is what got me to play this… turn based dungeon crawler with an 80’s action movie vibe💥 I was very surprised at how much I enjoyed this mash up of a few genres, dungeon crawler/bullet hell/FPS. It works & judging by the leaderboards, I’m not sure how people are speed running this but they are. 💥 turn based dungeon crawler 💥 the humor is great 💥 if you die, it’s your own fault Would definitely like to see more levels added or even a level editor. That will extend the life of the game & I can only imagine the crazy levels that the community would create.
Promising early access game with a fun concept and good graphics. I liked how much the ranged attacks changed the general turn based dungeon crawl mechanics. The game is still missing a few features, so if you're looking for a complete experience wait for the full release.
I've enjoyed the game from what I have played so far. The dungeon crawler mechanic is unique, blending the retro asthetic of Duke Nukem, Contra, Metal Gear, with a semi real time tactical RPG mechanic from a third person perspective. While I like the presentation, I feel the controls can be rather clunky the first time around, unless tweaked properly. sometimes when overwhelmed by enemies you can easily confuse yourself with the controls and rotate the character when you were thinking of strafing. The game requires a lot of trial and error to get used to the gameplay but once you've adapted, you actually start to enjoy it. The game can be rather challenging, even in easy mode The soundtrack also helps keep things intense and motivated for battle. The game can get buggy sometimes and at one point the controls locked up on me when I got hit by a projectile while strafing. Hoping this gets ironed out in future patches. Overall a neat concept, even if the controls are somewhat clunky. It might not be for everyone, but I found it addicting once I figured out the controls. 7.5/10
I wasn't sure about the concept initially but this dev has yet to disappoint me so I picked it up. If you grew up with 80s action movies the art and humor will immediately grab you. Add that to compelling gameplay and an amazing soundtrack and you get another great game from Adventurepro Games. There are two modes at the moment. A campaign that takes you through a number of handcrafted areas and bosses that eventually comes to an end. It also recently added a raid mode that pits you against an endless horde of enemies in a procedurally generated jungle. The dev has mentioned he plans to extend the campaign significantly but even in it's current state it's satisfying to play through. It's always a risk to buy into an early access game but the dev has had amazing support for his other game Dungeonmans and also regularly streams development on twitch. He is also very responsive on discord if you have issues. Definitely a developer worth supporting!
You are witnessing a masterpiece in the making.
