About
eXoSpace Combat Engineer combines the gridless spaceship building of Reassembly, the intense combat of Nova Drift, and the unpredictable hyperjump encounters of FTL.

Using a fully gridless, intuitive snap-and-rotate designer, you balance weapons, thrust, energy and armor, use advanced mechanical parts like pistons and hinges to build transforming warships, or install hangars to deploy swarms of custom-designed drones.

Take your custom vessel into Bounty Hunt mode, navigating asteroid storms, pirate ambushes, and random encounters as you evolve your ship from a basic drone into a true dreadnought to survive intense, bullet-hell boss fights.

Mission-based game loop: complete missions to increase in rank and build even bigger ships to hunt more dangerous targets.
Gridless spaceship designer that lets you easily snap parts together in any angle, allowing you to quickly try out new designs or upgrade your ship.
Design your own drones and deploy swarms of them from your hangars.
Intuitive engineering constraints: balance thrusters, weapons, energy and armor to create an effective warship.
Bullet-hell boss fights: each mission ends with an epic phased boss-fight. Find weak points while dodging projectiles.
A fully-featured sandbox allowing you to build any ship, create your own faction, and share it with a click on the Steam Workshop. You can even build your own boss!
The Galactic Arena: face design and piloting challenges ranging from 1 vs 1 drone skirmishes to cruiser battles.
More than 600 different ship designs to discover, including many community creations.
More than 200 parts to build your ship with, including powerful faction-specific weapons.
5 playable factions with their own tech tree, powerful unique parts, and crew.
And more is added in regular updates!
"Again, awesome work. Been a while since I've been this impressed with such a hidden gem."
“This game is ingenious, amazing and AWESOME! Something that fills the gap between Reassembly, Cosmoteer and Starsector.”
“I like how here, I can quickly design something and experiment. I can iterate quickly and comfortably."

srry, but not srry, this game just sucks edit| controler does not work, nor does steamdeck controls
Great 2-d ship builder/fighter game. The spiritual successor to Reassembly (but with articulated parts.. very cool), been watching this for a while and loved it during the playtest. If you like optimising a ship, trying different strategies this game is for you. Well worth the price!
If you like Cosmoteer, you'll enjoy this game too! I wouldn't say either game competes with each other, just more variety if you like this genre. What I do enjoy a lot with eXoSpace is the direct control you have over your ship, while Cosmoteer is more like you're commanding your ship(s) (I do know Cosmoteer has a direct control mode, but it's more intuitive/the primary focus in eXoSpace). The roguelite incremental progression of eXoSpace is a nice change of pace, with a goal and bossfights to experience. It's a lot more objective-oriented compared to the sandbox experience of Cosmoteer. Overall it's a fun experience and I hope the devs continue expanding upon this.

Awesome ship builder roguelike! 🚀👾 Made by a very open and vocal dev that actually listens to player feedback, and keeps pushing great updates and bugfixes. Worth a buy just for actually using Early Access the way it's meant to be used (very rare!!!).
Yes, absolutely yes, it may be early access but it is really fun to play now, and it is super satisfying to have a monster ship that can face tank stations
great so far
Fun game! I feel like I've just scratched the surface with what's possible regarding designs. Looking forward to doing more runs and seeing how the game develops.
Like Reassembly, but bigger. Like Avorion, but less needlessly complicated. Runs on a literal potato, and really scratches the "I want to make space ships to blow up other space ships with, not just fill in turret slots on a grid, but I don't want to remember anything from high school physics class"
This game is way to addicting!!! I love making battlestar's. It would be cool if you could make your own faction and then that faction randomly spawns in when you do your next playthrough.
Really nice game with some great shipbuilding mechanics. The bounty hunt needs some work, but is already a lot of fun. Looking forward to updates!
