Experienced on the Oculus Rift with 1 Touch Controller
Note for Oculus users: the controls are very clunky! Press B to open menu That above description is because I only used the right hand Touch Controller. Perfect for viewing ladies in VR, but not so sure it's all that useful for viewing/ exploring planets. Whatever floats your boat I guess. So this is an interesting use of VR. You basically choose a random planet. There are 4 categories of planets and from there you select 1 random one. Then you can teleport to the planet and teleport all around said chosen planet. Each planet should look different. Although some of the differences weren't all that spectacular. The graphics are subpar. Think No Man's Sky if it had been made on original Xbox. There's a day / night cycle. There's weather patterns ... sort of. There's a sky with a moving moon usually (skies were usually the most disappointing thing about the visuals). Several planets I visited had a body of water where you could hear the water nearby and then teleport to where the sound was coming from, which I thought was excellent. However, there's no animal life. No volcano eruptions. You cannot interact with anything. There's really not much to do. You pick a planet and teleport around and see the randomly generated views. It's cool if you're a science nerd. I liked it, not sure I'd spend more than the 30 minutes I spent exploring without a major update. Rate 6/10. It's free. It's unique. I think it could be great with some interactions and addition of animal life.

I have the most fondest memories of playing Starflight I and II on my Commodore 64 when I was a teenager. I loved keeping a real logbook of my journeys and writing down useful data that I came across while exploring systems and planets. Exoplanet is pure joy to play. It brings back so much nostalgia but in a completely new form to be explored in VR. I can't believe it's free but am grateful to the developer for offering his hard work to the community.
It's definitely in an alpha state, but it has a lot of potential. The developer ought to keep working on this and try and make it closer and closer to No Man's Sky. You should be traveling from planet to planet in a ship, you should have a gun/mining laser, there's needs to be actual gameplay like in similar games, there needs to be more flora and fauna, etc. The controls need a lot of work. It only has teleportation at the moment. It needs left analogue stick movement and snap turning with the right stick. You need to be able to grip things like a gun with your hands like any other game. It's like a blank slate right now. I suggest picking it up to support where the developer could go with it.
Wow a surprise and really fun experience.Works with oculus just no snapturn or locomotion but no big deal and very comfortable.Exploring entire worlds and picking the area from out in space as well as the desired planet. Its very cool teleporting for miles on the surface. It doesnt suck, its actually really great.Praise Jesus !

Exoplanet is a free VR Space Exploration game. It worked on my HTC Vive and Index system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. One man dev team and a WIP project. Very rough Alpha state project. CONS: - The menu is ugly 2D design from retro games. - Need more to do and see on planet surfaces. Try it, you might like it if you like older Space Exploration games
I like it, has got potential, hope the developers work on this one, the sky's the limit. For now as a freebie it's ok and worth having a look at.
This is a strange one, the tutorial videos help, they're short. Once you get going there's a lot to do for free, act I took like 2 hours, but you can keep playing. The combat's fun, there's a ship combat mini game. Planets get repetitive, but some of the cliffs are super high and the oceans and lakes are cool if you explore enough. - The sound is very good - I loved the thunder and lightning. - Looks decent - Plays smooth - I didn't have any bugs. - Very worth trying, excited to see more. - A hidden freebie. P.S. I vaguely remember "starflight" from the genisis, same vibe.
This game does exactly what's said on the tin, you explore space in VR, as far as i'm aware of it's made entirely by one individual so try to keep in mind that just because you can't see that one dimple on Sergeant Grit's Face aswell as every single water droplet on grass in a 5 mile radius doesn't mean this game isn't good. This game does require a VR Setup in order to play however if you have that the game is *literally* free, Worse case scenario? you dislike it and uninstall the game, no money lost, Best case scenario? you have a game that gives you literal days worth of enjoyment. Logical rating: *N/A Personal rating: *N/A Suggestion: If you have VR, give it a go it's literally free *(i haven't gotten far into the game to give an accurate rating, if i ever do i'll update this review)
