About
"Welcome back to the Afterlife, Ki. Let's get you to the Evergate, and back to Earth"

When a lost soul named "Ki" awakens in the afterlife, her path back to earth is blocked by the ‘Evergate’. To return home, Ki must decipher her mysterious connection to kindred spirit as she navigates through memories of a time once past.
Navigate through each new memory via 85 challenging stages. Harness the ‘Soulflame’ mechanic, unlock new abilities and find your own creative ways to reach each end gate.

This ancient power of the Afterlife allows Ki to slow down time, take aim and fire a beam of energy at white surfaces known as "The Source".

Use your Soulflame to smash through the mysterious crystals scattered throughout each memory. Unleash their power to soar to new heights, reach the unreachable and safely navigate perilous environments. Hit multiple crystals at once to combined their energies and find new creative ways to reach the end gate.

Rise to the challenge and collect "Essences" by reaching all the areas within each memory. Use them to unlock ancient artefacts and boost Ki's attributes. Move faster, jump higher and harness even greater powers!

Gorgeous hand-drawn visuals and an elegantly orchestrated soundtrack - recorded by a live orchestra - immerse players in the Afterlife and bring dreams, nightmares and spirits alive in stunning detail.

很不错
вполне хорошая игра
I really enjoyed playing this game! Its a little short but the game-play and story are very compelling. The visuals and sound track are also incredible! The mechanics are also very unique and fun to work with. If you enjoyed Ori and the blind forest I would recommend this game! Pros: 10/10: Visuals and Sound Track 8/10: Mechanics and control 8/10: Story Cons: * Game is somewhat short (about 10hrs for main story line) but there is extra content and its within reason for other games in its price range. If you can pick it up on one of steams sales it is 100% worth it. * Difficulty: This is nothing compared to Ori and the blind forest but this game is pretty unforgiving. If you miss step even once between check points you will probably have to restart. Checkpoints are pretty short, but it can be a little annoying Conclusion: I highly recommend this game! It has an incredibly unique twist to platforming that is very rewarding and different from anything I have seen before. The story, visuals, and soundtrack are also amazing!
Please consider following my Curation page. I cover a wide range of genres both paid and unpaid, providing unbiased opinions as well as regular giveaway events.

Normally I hate platformers
Technically, I still do, because they are mostly the really difficult and not all that interesting progression types of platformers, just designed to make you a bit too angry. EverGate is more of a platformer with some very minor visual story sprinkled in that doesn't really add much to the mix, but the way they visually transition you to the next locations is really well done. This transitional feature, combined with the fact that the world is vivid and beautifully designed, kept me playing for the little time that I did.
Conclusion
Even though this isn't my favorite genre, some do it well while others do not. The platforming features in this game were well thought out, providing additional obstacles for completionist runs as well as easy mode to complete it without doing much at all outside of getting to the end. My only issue is the player character, he feels a bit out of place with his design, this could be due to the fact that he has big bulbous eyes, unsure, but if you're into platforming with some level of challenge you should check this out as it has a beautiful display both visually and musically.
A fun puzzle platformer. The art style was nice and cute, but the music was grand and fantastic. In terms of story, it's simple but interesting but the way it told it was quite cool,
the way it showed multiple of our lives and reincarnations was nice, although I do think that they make him think of himself as much worse than was shown, from all that we see he's not even that bad, only in one of the lives is something he does bad his fault.
I do think there are some weird points though, for example,
why would the afterlife be THIS fragile? I feel like since it's this fragile when it's just one soul doing it, then it would have been destroyed a long time ago but that's just what I think.
In terms of gameplay, pretty good, if we want we can have some assistance in the options with invincibility and game speed which is a great touch (especially when doing achievements), the puzzles are good and all the different powers were different from each other which made it have a nice variety of puzzles with nothing beeing too much of the same, the artifacts we can get also help in us being able to do it in different ways, overall nicely designed. There were some points of frustration here and there but not as much as in other platformers, so that's nice. There is one thing though,
why would falling ice affect you in the void dimension power? Since we basically go into the background I don't see how we'd die from falling ice... But that's what I think.
The achievements can be quite a pain to get though. Overall, a cute game with a fantastic soundtrack, an interesting story and some very good puzzle platforming.
Evergate is the most underrated gem I've ever found, and Im so glad to be review number 100. I got it cheap expecting an alright short game, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I was so surprised by the quality of basically every aspect of it. Coming up with strategies is so fun because the gameplay is constructed in a very unique way, that allows for many solutions/skips to be done with the variety of artifacts you find, which you can generally get some use of in many situations if you're creative. Thats not to take away from the "intentional" ways to beat levels, that also feel very clean to do. In terms of length I expected way less, but thanks to the artifacts replayability of levels in order to get speed badges after doing then normally is not only worth doing, but probably my favorite part of the game. There's also some fun (I think kickstarter created) bonus levels, and im not even done with the game after 11 hours, because of achievement hunting if you're into that. The other insane thing about this game, which I feel like should be the reason a lot of people have at least heard of, is the damn ost, its sooo good and I've been listening to some stuff from it outside of the game too. I cant believe this only has 10 likes on youtube despite being one of my favorite songs from a game I've heard all year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZAq3gBkhy4 Story is not a big part of the game at all, but its pretty compelling and its implemented well with the other stuff. This game is just amazing, its a crime how underrated it is, and Im gonna be preaching it like crazy to try and get more people to check it out
