About
An idle action RPG with absurd mechanical depth.
Theorycrafters rejoice!
Build the perfect hero, synergize your build, and watch him tear through mob after mob while you sit back and admire the carnage.
Eternal Quest: Ascended is deceptively simple on the surface, but beneath it lies a plethora of carefully crafted algorithms, mechanics and interactions waiting to be discovered!
Have you ever played an epic RPG and loved the complex character building, meta crafting and optimization exploration, but then you had to slog through all that annoying GAMEPLAY? Have you ever wished you could just build your character and then had someone to just check if the build works or not, only to be disappointed by having to check it yourself by actually playing?
Eternal Quest: Ascended is the solution to your problem!
It delivers all the depth and complexity of character building while removing all the annoying parts! You just level up your hero, optimize his build, and watch him go!
Eternal Quest was built from the ground up by a theorycrafter, for theorycrafters, based on a lifetime of theorycrafting experience!
Every piece of gear matters; no extra stuff just to make numbers go up
No stat points; that's too micro and doesn't do anything
Skill trees that are short and sweet where every point placed is important
5 base Skill Trees with 4 more to unlock and build around!
Buffs and Curses powerful enough that you actually want to use them
Evolving systems including unlockable talents and skill trees, ascension artifacts, dynamic class naming, advanced gear crafting and more!
Over 100 build defining Mythic Items
Items level with you (for a price); you never have to worry about leveling out of your favorite items

Nope! Your hero fights automatically using a simplified priority system. Your job is the strategy. Of course, if the situation demands it, you can switch to turn-based combat mode. and micromanage difficult battles.
The world is full of enemies ready to test your build. Your hero will wander the 3 realms, defeating enemies and powerful bosses. Every zone he beats unlocks the next, with enemies growing more and more powerful!
Push your build as far as it can go.
If it fails… tweak it.
If it succeeds… push it even further.
When you can't push any more, Ascend your hero to imbue him with powerful artifacts from the 8 ancient mysteries and return to the world to push once more.
i already told you about that, but sure!
Don't fiddle with little "one point here / one point there" nonsense. Well, you'll have to do that a LITTLE BIT. But on the whole, the system is build with big simple blocks that can combine with complex interactions that evolve as you play.
Carefully crafted mathematical formulas for hit / block / dodge that make sense, resistances and armor all matter.
3 different zone progression types to test your build against, each with their own optimization challenges.

You can play actively or let the game run while you relax.
Jump in, adjust your build, and watch the results.
It’s the perfect RPG for players who love thinking about builds more than endlessly clicking through combat.
No, Eternal Quest WAS a flash game. But now it's a steam game! It ascended! I designed and developed this game over 7 years of my life, only to release it just in time for flash to DIE A HORRIBLE STINKY DEATH. Now, 8 years later, it has emerged once more to find its place on Steam... with a few fancy updates!
Well, most of the game is the same as it was, doesn't it sound good enough?
Look at all the features I already outlined! Come on, it's a really awesome game!
Alright look... the Flash version was built first as a free flash idle game. But then I pivoted to add in microtransactions because that was the dirty trend at the time (and still basically is). But for this Steam Version of the game I gutted the microtransaction system, reoptimized everything around a single non-whale power progression curve, integrated all of the formerly nickel and dimed mechanics into the base game and basically just redesigned things to be a smoother and better experience. I also fixed a few outstanding bugs that have been sitting on my todo list for 8 years.
Basically, I took out any PTW stuff (not that there was much) and balanced it so you dont need to spend to win.
Too bad! This is a game for theorycrafting and optimization, not for spending your way to the top. If you really wanna spend money on this, get the Supporter Pack DLC!
OMg, look dude... the game was already pretty awesome, and no... I didn't just "throw it on Steam". First of all, I did a lot of work to rebalance things and test the new curves. And putting a game on steam is also a lot of work! There's like a whole dashboard of things to fill out, I had to upload a bunch of different images and cut them myself even though I'm not an artist, and I wrote this whole damn description from scratch!
but if that's not enough, I also integrated cloud saves and added like 60-ish achievements.
OMg i said "60-ISH". Look, are you gonna get the game or not? The game is awesome and it's not that expensive. If you wanna try it out, go for it. If not, then that's ok it's not for you.
OK so wishlist it then! And then you can buy it when it's ready.

Incredible RPG Idle game, lots of possible build options for classes and item combinations for fun builds. Has a lot of charm and funny moments at story points. For the price point is unbeatable!
This game is SO fun! Really chill idler. None can beat my pea
Great game if you like theory crafting. Let it run in the background.
Nostalgia from the past. But sadly that is all there is to it. Farming times are too high. Literally a day or more which would not be so bad if the drop chances were not so low. The exciting gear you want to build around is mythics and on average I would pin point you get 3-5 per day. But you need 12 to exchange them for the one you want to experiment with which is gated by a limited reroll system. The second layer of advancement are crafts, where you toss mythics in a blinder and hope for a usable outcome. Paired with the farm time this gets utterly exhausting since recipes are unknown and in regard of the small community it will probably stay that way. Balance wise you have to layer defenses like an onion and in many directions and that is where the most amount of skill points/item choice goes into and the load is extremely heavy. You are barely left with room to pull up your damage numbers. The prestige skills are nice but the costs spiral so much that you are basically hard capped unless you are willing to waste days to increase your physical resistance by 1.5 percent(ish) as an example. In regard to the aforementioned farming times and not having the leeway to experiment - you can only change prestige perks on prestige- you will yet again encounter the time issue. Because there is no catch up mechanic to speed through early levels in place you want to start your next run as high as possible. Prestiging to level 100 cost 250, to 200 as starting point costs 4k and at 300 it costs 30k. But the required amount to pay for that takes a lot of levels to grind. Starting at 300 was not feasable for me so I had to start at 200 but getting to 300 takes a full day while the income to upgrade my skills only started to get relevant going into the mid 300's which is basically another full day. Then there are confusing and annoying quirks to the damage types. You have a weapon that deals extra physical damage on crit? Well, that is ADDITIONAL damage and is not scaled through means that increase physical damage, only base damage does scale. It is static. Just one example and the tedium does not end there. If unclear mechanics are deemed "secret", the dev will tell you to find the answer on your own and is smug about it. There was no question about crafting recipes but suns bought at the temple, basically a base mechanic that seems useless to me anyway considering the steep costs to do anything while you need the gold to level items because you can only craft items at max level. There is also a technical issue, it used to be a flash game and kudos to the dev to port it but the performance is pretty bad. On a native 4k screen on full screen the performance tanks. All in all it was not too expensive but it is frustrating that I was only able to scrape the surface after my time invested and I am sad about the points I had to made. In the end I can not recommend it. As it is, this game's focus is a small nieche audience which is reflected in the comment numbers as it is in the engagement in the steam forum. It is a flashback to a time 10 years ago but if you want to find a better experience that reflects the progress made in the last decade I believe there are games out there that will fullfill that.
The game is fun when it actually works but it crashes multiple times a day which frankly becomes unplayable.
i put a full day into this game, woke up the next and none of my progress has saved. the creator doesnt care, find a different sub par idle game guys.
