This game is only recommended for people who likes hard games. This game have basic action hack&slash rpg and very enjoyable. I amazed on how well done the art, ui, and the gameplay. The gameplay supprisingly smooth in my opinion and gives you proper action thrill. The developer know what he's doing and the game can be very easy or very hard depending on your customization on the character development.
nice game to play hard but fun
Eternal Dread is a Hack 'n Slash game with a leveling-up system similar to Diablo 2. In addition, the game uses Ryona as a staple in the series where a game over scene shows your character being done in a way possible depending on which enemies you were defeated. You play as Riel. A woman who was inspired to be a warrior after she was rescued joined the Warrior's Guild to stop the evil that has plagued in the world of ED. Despite her being a Warrior type, she has a lot of skills and techniques in her disposal. She can use Combat skills for close-quarter combat, Magic skills for elemental damage, and Archery skills for enemies out of her reach. The gameplay, while it has its flaws, is simple at best. You go to places and slay monsters in your way. There are times that the enemies are too strong that you can't tell when they'll execute their skills and sometimes it's difficult to fire your long-range spells or attack at an enemy far away from you. However, once you get used to how the game works, and what skills are best fitted for your character, depending on the situation, and acquired stats needed for Riel, you'll understand the games flow and you'll get good at it. Dodging and blocking are very useful defensive maneuvers, but dodging is the best move to use in a tough battle. I recommend this to those who are curious about this game and those who want a challenge in what this game has to offer.

Eternal Dread is a grim, uncompromising indie action RPG that leans heavily into themes of despair, endurance, and survival in a world already on the brink of collapse. Developed and published by Hitbear Studio, the game presents a harsh vision of dark fantasy where humanity has largely failed, civilization has been shattered, and the few remaining defenders must struggle not for glory, but simply to keep existing. From its opening moments, it establishes an oppressive tone that informs every system, encounter, and design decision. The narrative backdrop is bleak and straightforward. Humanity has been devastated by powerful demonic forces known as the Elder Fiends, entities whose influence has corrupted the world and driven most people to extinction. Rather than casting the player as a chosen hero or legendary savior, Eternal Dread places you in the role of a fighter who survives through persistence and repeated hardship. Storytelling is largely environmental and contextual, delivered through atmosphere, enemy design, and the desolate spaces you traverse rather than lengthy exposition or cinematic cutscenes. This understated approach reinforces the feeling that hope is scarce and survival itself is the ultimate objective. Gameplay centers on real-time combat combined with traditional RPG progression. Players explore hostile areas filled with aggressive enemies that punish careless movement and mistimed attacks. Combat favors positioning, timing, and learning enemy behavior over button-mashing, and even basic encounters can be dangerous if approached recklessly. Progression comes through leveling, equipment upgrades, and incremental stat improvements, but power growth is deliberately restrained. Even as your character becomes stronger, enemies remain threatening, maintaining constant tension and preventing the experience from slipping into power fantasy territory. Difficulty is one of the game’s defining characteristics. Eternal Dread is intentionally unforgiving, with limited safety nets and harsh consequences for mistakes. Death often means retracing steps and re-engaging with familiar threats, emphasizing repetition as a learning tool. This design can be deeply satisfying for players who enjoy mastering enemy patterns and refining their approach, as each victory feels earned rather than scripted. At the same time, the reliance on repetition and trial-and-error can feel exhausting for players who prefer smoother difficulty curves or more generous checkpoint systems. Visually, the game adopts a stark and utilitarian art style that complements its themes. Environments are dark, ruined, and oppressive, filled with muted colors and jagged silhouettes that reinforce the sense of a world long past saving. Enemy designs are grotesque and imposing, clearly communicating danger even before combat begins. While animations and character models lack the polish of higher-budget titles, they serve their purpose by prioritizing readability and atmosphere over spectacle. Sound design further enhances the mood. Music is sparse and somber, often fading into the background to allow environmental sounds and combat effects to dominate. This restraint heightens tension, making moments of silence feel as threatening as active encounters. Audio cues play an important role in combat awareness, helping players react to enemy attacks and reinforcing the weight of each hit exchanged. The game’s pacing reflects its philosophy. Progress is slow, victories are hard-won, and setbacks are frequent. There are no major shifts in mechanics or dramatic gameplay twists as the experience unfolds, which can make extended play sessions feel repetitive. However, this consistency also gives the game a clear identity: it is a test of endurance rather than a constantly escalating spectacle. Players who align with this mindset may find the loop meditative in its brutality, while others may struggle to stay engaged without more variation or narrative payoff. Community reception mirrors this divide. Many players praise Eternal Dread for its raw challenge, oppressive atmosphere, and commitment to its vision, appreciating it as a throwback to older action RPGs that demanded patience and resilience. Others criticize it for clunky mechanics, uneven balance, and a lack of refinement that makes the difficulty feel punishing rather than fair. These reactions highlight that the game is unapologetically niche, appealing strongly to a specific audience while alienating others. Overall, Eternal Dread is a harsh, single-minded action RPG that prioritizes atmosphere, challenge, and persistence over accessibility or polish. It does not attempt to smooth its edges or broaden its appeal, instead embracing a design philosophy rooted in struggle and repetition. For players who enjoy dark fantasy worlds, punishing combat, and the satisfaction of overcoming adversity through sheer determination, it offers a stark and memorable experience. For those seeking narrative depth, mechanical variety, or a forgiving progression curve, its relentless tone and rough edges may feel more draining than rewarding. Rating: 6/10
I gave this game as many chances as I could, but in the end, I have to say it is bad. I decided to start playing it about a week ago. I had nothing else to do, and I remembered that I had bought this game. One of my reasons was to go for all the achievements. Another was that I wanted to try a hack-and-slash game, since I’m not very familiar with that genre. I understand this is a low-budget title, so I lowered my expectations. But after twelve and a half hours, I realized I had had enough. The quests are terrible. Enemies are absurdly strong, and you need to grind to get stronger—which takes FOREVER. When I realized that, I thought: “Fine, this will be my killing-time game. I’ll turn off the in-game sound, listen to some music, grind a bit by killing goblins, and sometimes do quests.” But I couldn’t, because there wasn’t even an option to turn off the game’s music. (Maybe there was and I just couldn’t see it, idk.) If you don’t have any expectations and just want to try some small, low-budget and humble indie game, I can recommend this. But for me, it wasn’t good enough. If you are still willing to buy this game, You should definitely wait for the discount. 10 dollar is insane.
