Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 20.86/day in the week to Aug 11 → 25.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

Esoteric Ebb is an isometric, Disco-like, TTRPG-turned-CRPG set in a bizarre post-Arcanepunk fantasy setting. You are The Cleric, an expert in esoteric events, and a glorified government goon. Inspired by classic CRPG games, Esoteric Ebb features deep and branching dialogs with a staggering amount of choices.
Create the world’s worst cleric. Take on the city through tense TTRPG dice rolls. Struggle to maintain control with your Stats chiming in at every moment. Let the voices guide you into insane encounters and hit that natural 20 right when you need it. Become the most interesting player at the table and completely ruin your DM’s day.
Five days until the first-ever election, a tea shop explodes in the heart of the city. They send you to deal with the mess.
You wake up in a morgue with half the river in your boots, surrounded by ten thousand rotting apples, several corpses, and one zombie. Out of your depth and with no official backup, you delve into your beloved city to investigate the impossible mystery no one wants you to solve. Juggle factions and play them against each other. Explore the streets and tunnels of a fantasy metropolis. Debate devils, drunk sphinxes, and all manner of fantastical fools in a world where mythological creatures sell newspapers at corner shops and ideologies overtake the ramblings of dead gods.

Don’t forget the most important question: What are you voting in the election?
MAKE CHOICES THAT WILL COME BACK TO BITE YOU. Shifting alliances! Risky dungeoneering! Complete open-ended quests, low and high-stakes alike, set in the streets, towers, and dark tunnels of Norvik. Become the city’s savior, its demise, or bumble your way into absolute power.
TRUST THE DICE. Let chance guide you! Roll to wrestle dwarves, steal anything in sight, or to keep yourself from looking like a complete fool. But remember, in true TTRPG fashion, failure can often be way more interesting.

IT'S ALL IN YOUR HEAD. Debate yourself! Each Ability Stat has a conflicting viewpoint and loves to interrupt important conversations. No matter whose side you fall on, you'll complete quests in wonderfully ridiculous ways.

WIELD REALITY-SHAPING MAGIC. Use The Cleric’s power for unique narrative choices. Control minds for fun and profit. Detect secrets in the tunnels below or in the thoughts of your enemies. Speak with anyone, living or dead, just to see how they insult you.

TURN-BASED ENCOUNTERS. Clerics in Norvik are taught to use violence as a last resort. When the need does arise, a roll of the dice determines life or death. But you always have a bizarre solution to any problem, don’t you?

THE QUESTING TREE. Your quest log, skill tree, and mind map all at once. Each Quest Branch can take root in your mind and alter The Cleric’s playstyle through game-changing feats.

Peak Story Game, I will be doing another run at somepoint
I played through once, really enjoyed the writing and the overall feel of a DnD session was great. The audio and visuals are fantastic as well. My only complaints I feel don't take away from the quality of the game and that I like it, but I would want to see "fixed". First, give me a screen with the map called map, don't put it on the "Journal" screen. I am not there for a codex, nor do I like my map sharing a screen with unrelated information. Next sprint controls are set up in a weird way, just give me a toggle on/off button in settings for the shift key, just a normal press a button so I can sprint everywhere instead of the walk pace. It isn't hard to control where I am going. I resorted to double clicking everywhere then immediately smashing a direction key to take over controls. It is weird, not sure the intent behind the set up. I did get stuck in stupid places because I couldn't find what it was I was missing because I had slightly missed my cursor over the one place to highlight it when I did my numerous confused sweeps of the City Below. Maybe the secrets spell could have helped me out but by the time I got it I guess I had taken too long for the one real location and it just opened another way, and or maybe I just found everything other ways. Anyways, maybe because of the way I played I almost never used any spells at all and the times I wanted or felt like I should use certain ones they indicated "no reason" for it. Again, great game, will play again down the road with some different stats just to see how it plays out, but hopefully a few of the inconveniences are smoothed out by then.

Esoteric Ebb answers the cry of "Keep Politics out of Games" with a resounding "NO" and is all the better for it. A script that shows maybe more games should be about politics, Ebb is a Disco Elysium-esque RPG set in a fantasy world on the brink of its first election. You play THE CLERIC, dispatched by the city to investigate the recent explosion of a local tea shop. The thrust of your adventure is this mystical detective work but over the 18-20 hour campaign you'll also learn about the rich world, magic system, races, and geopolitical events that make up the universe of Esoteric Ebb. As an RPG, Ebb gives you agency in this telling, both to define THE CLERIC but also to define and argue your political world view. The range of characters you meet are diverse, and all of them can be asked "Who are you voting for in the upcoming election?!" To kick off one of the game's many ideological debates. That the writing is so strong is good because that is basically the whole game. Like Disco before it, Ebb is a game about conversations and building a character (through dialog choices, level ups, and loot) to succeed in various dice roles. The game encourages you to make interesting choices and I wholeheartedly agree. You'll get the most out of this game if you go for the awkward dialog option, say the uncomfortable thing, and press your luck in the right ways. You may not always succeed on your dice rolls, but failure may not always be a closed door, either. Unlike Disco, Ebb does feature spells and some light combat, though the combat encounters play out as a series of dialog options so they aren't mechanically too much different. These are thematically very appropriate and great character moments, but it can be easy to stumble into these early on and lose a lot of progress because your low level Cleric got caught off guard and died. Quick save often! Spells can be used both while exploring the dense world and during certain conversations and combat scenarios. I found this system a nice addition to the general walking and talking but it didn't add too much depth in my experience. Overall, Esoteric Ebb is a captivating RPG with a brilliant script and powerful, well rounded themes. It's funny, thought provoking, moving, and richly detailed. Like a great fantasy novel, you won't be able to put it down. Unlike a great book, you can insert yourself into the fray.
Just wow. This game touched on a lot of serious topics in such a silly way, I ADORE it. Its definetly one of those games though where youll want to be a little older to play, I wouldnt reccomend this game to a 16 year old just bc of the complexities of the topics. Not to say if youre young you shouldnt play! However I do think it would be enjoyed more by an older audience. This is one of the best games Ive ever played, the story is RIVITING. Been craving a table top dungeons and dragons experience and this gave me everything I wanted, truly.
So much care and love and humour has clearly been put into this game. I really enjoyed playing it. I tried Disco Elysium last year and it didn't hold my attention nearly as well as this one did! Kudos to this developer for really acing this genre.
I loved this game way more than i was anticipating and now im on my second playthrough. It's very pretty, easy to grasp as a non-dnd player and is incredibly charming. The NPCs are unique and full of life and the dialogue with them, and internally, is absolutely hilarious in parts. It does have a LOT of reading. But for the most part, it is worth taking the time to absorb it all at least the first time around. Deep lore, insight to the world and all kinds of foreshadowing and useful info is scattered all throughout. Trying to make my friends play it so I can experience it for the first time through their eyes!
One. Only one is enough.
Absolute peak, 10/10. Feels like a full dnd campaign with variety of actions. Many roots to take, but keeps you on right on track, so I never felt lost playing. Whatever path you take - all contributes to the main plot, made me so engaged and the exploration so satisfying. Story is also something I really enjoyed, it is beautifully crafted world that feels very complete. Waiting for sequal now, if it is to come.
