I honestly don't even know where to begin with this game. it's an emotional roller coaster, and I've never cried so much over a game's ending before. The story starts with such a haunting premise. You begin the game with absolutely no recollection of your past life, which instantly leaves you feeling vulnerable and lost. As you make your way through the increasingly complex levels, you begin to uncover pieces of your past and the grim reality of your situation. The most gut-wrenching discovery is the fate of your fellow comrades, pigs who, like you, are trapped in cages, starving, suffering. These pigs are left abandoned, and you can't help but feel their pain.
As you start to understand the weight of your circumstances, the question gnaws at you: Why me? Why are you free when so many others are left to suffer in this hellish place? That question becomes the driving force behind your decisions as you try to save your comrades. It’s a journey of empathy and self-reflection as you realise you are the only one with the power to help them.
However, as the game progresses, the weight of your choices becomes more apparent. The further you go, the more impossible it seems to save everyone. At first, you try your best, trying to help those you can, but soon the reality sets in: not all of your comrades can be saved. The cages are too many, the odds too stacked against you, and with each failed rescue, your heart grows heavier. You want to be free, to leave all the pain behind, to forget about the pigs you’ve failed. You push forward, determined to escape your fate and find a way out. But then, in the final room, "19," you discover the devastating truth: there is no exit. There is no escape. The despair is suffocating, and you realise how futile it all was. It’s a hopeless situation, and you’re left questioning everything, the meaning of your struggle, your choices, and whether you ever truly had a chance.
This game takes you on an emotional journey like no other. From hope to despair, from empathy to resentment, it forces you to confront the harsh realities of your decisions. The ending is nothing short of gut-wrenching, and it stays with you long after the credits roll.
