Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Reviews
This game is clearly inspired by Paper Mario, but it managed to find its own identity. The gameplay, while similar to the first two Paper Mario games, felt more refined and offers a lot of personalization through the five characters that can be switched in combat and the badge system. The setting and the humor are the highlights of this game. The concept of visiting well known stories with a weird and humoristic twist was a great idea that was well implemented. This game is very joyful, and I enjoyed every minute of my 20 hours playthrough.

it's pretty good
This is a little turn-based RPG that elicits lots of comparisons. Sea of Stars or Clair Obscur for parry mechanics and the inability to look away during combat, plus the charm, story coherence, and humor of Nobody Saves the World. Paper Mario for graphical style and 3d world. The conceit of the story is that Flynt, bland story book hero, finds himself (and his dragon nemesis) as an employee of Ever After, Inc. - the company somehow teleporting real people into stories, enslaving storybook characters and strip mining the books they live in for resources before moving on. You as Flynt strive to unite storybook characters into mutiny and destroy the tech that lets you move into books. The game is surprisingly hard for the level of complexity the writing would suggest about its audience. But the challenge just ends up being annoying - platforming jumps are a couple of pixels narrower than your jump distance so it's easy to undershoot. There are no penalties for screwing up but a just-too-long cinematic putting you back at the start. Combat has some depth - enemies are all in a line. Some attacks can target, some hit the front person. Enemies have armor (subtracting a damage from your hit, which is pretty devastating when endgame attacks cap out at 5-6). Enemies have shields, too - they block all attacks that would land behind them. Unless you're jumping. But then, enemies with swords or spikes that point up will hit you instead and cancel your attack. Some enemies exist only to make others invulnerable. Etc. You can time defense and attack button pushes to improve them, but the timing window is not always obvious. What should feel like depth in the combat mostly comes out as annoying. It's complexity, but it's just not interesting complexity to me. Bonus points for organizing collectibles so they are each numbered (and therefore easy to google their location later), but I'd rather be playing the other games I mentioned. 2/5
An excellent game that plays to the nostalgia of the first two Paper Mario games. While there are a few moments that I felt are a little TOO derivative of those games (Pit of 100 Trials-esque gauntlet) the game stands well on its own with its fun, charming characters and a story that plays its beats well, balancing the humor you'd expect from such a game as well as the more serious moments. Including some that may tug at your heart. One thing I especially liked about this game that I felt Paper Mario lacked is that the group members interact with each other throughout the story. It gives them a sense of an actual group of characters coming together from different paths in life (some even starting as enemies) to form a team taking it upon itself to accomplish an almost impossible goal. This game is well worth the money and time.
Having never played any of the Paper Mario games myself, I cant say how the game compares to them, however at standalone entry, I found it a very enjoyable experience. 9/10 , Would recommend if a fan of JRPGs
Damn good game. If you wanted Paper Mario on PC, here ya go. A lot of the gameplay is pretty much that. Almost shamelessly, but its done well enough to be it's own thing.
