Equinox: Homecoming

First, I didn't buy this game for the horses. I read a review that briefly described the lost person/murder mystery turned supernature. And the questing is the primary thing I like about this game. It's set in the present in an isolated community. As a player, you are returning home because your mother has disappeared but that's not all... And I've discovered that I like the horses as well, not just as a mount to get to the quests faster. There are areas you can go alone or with others to trail ride, multiplayer 'capture the flag' type events, and racing. A large variety of repeatable weeklies provide a secondary way to level up, get currency, and reputation. You access most of these on your cell phone which also serves as a tool for other features, such as signing up for events and tracking progress. The only thing you can't do with the phone (yet) is take selfies - that seems like an easy update. The only thing I wish was different about Equinox is that their isn't really any player choice/impact on the quest lines. You can choose to do or not do a quest and very rarely you can choose between a couple of responses (usually not) but your choices don't seem to change the outcome or impact reputation. It's a very interesting but linear story. I've just finished chapter 3, leveled my first horse to level 50, and joined a riding club. I'm really looking forward to the next chapters of the main story and building relationships with the various factions. Another plus is that you can buy coins but you can also earn them through playing the game.

Overall a great game, but wish it was a bit less buggy. You easily get stuck on rocks/trees.

Works perfectly on steamdeck despite the rating saying unsupported, didn't even need to do anything special. Very excited for this game, there's not enough good hores riding games on steam. Totally recommend if you enjoy horses, chillax games, collecting achievements, and jumping and riding through beautiful forest and beach scenario. Seems to be lots to do already and haven't run into any bugs, and looking forward to diving into the mystery / detective aspect a little more of the missing mom.

I really like the look of the game and even tho its early access you can tell its a fun game with good twists! I would almost say 13+ for playing this :D

Not encountered any bugs. Renaming needs to be possible, and will help developer profit, grow, and make the game even better. The is game is not only a very fun escape, but I am intrigued. This is the MMORPG surprise catagory MVP. Gotta go find out what happened to my mom! Rating improved to 9/10

If you are looking for a mystery game with horses, this sort of fits the bill. There's a mystery, and there are horses, but there isn't much "game" in my opinion. All of the quests boil down to "go here and press the 'e' button". There are no dialogue options to choose and no skill-based minigames. The story is entertaining, the riding feels AMAZING, and the map is beautiful. My biggest thumbs-up is for how fluid the riding and scenery meld. You don't have to follow the roads to get where you want to go, and you can find neat views and cool places just riding around. My biggest gripes- you have to use special gold currency to purchase different horses. Biggest letdown ever, since to get those gold coins you have to progress main quest lines and do all the side-quests, which are different than the "task" quests. IMO a horse game should let you Get Horses, especially if the different horses have different stats. Even RDR2 let you have a few extra horses for different purposes. I don't want to get to the end of the game and not have gotten a new horse. I also don't want to pay real world dollars to unlock new horses. Also, I am more forgiving of this because it takes so much extra time and coding, the world feels empty. In the forest areas, no problem. In the town, it feels like a ghost town. No one moves, there are no extraneous NPCs, and as far as I have seen we are the only person who actually gets on a horse. Part of that may be I am not on very populous servers? I am not sure. But the only MMO aspect I have gotten is from the events, which are actually fun. TLDR: great game for riding around and getting a good story, not for collecting/customizing horses.

I've read so many good reviews of this game, that's why I'm so confused. I've read that people really like graphics, but I tried changing settings both on my monitors and the ingame settings and nothing work, the game is exceptionally dark, the textures are weird and the dawn/sunset light gives me a headache every time. I've read that this game is supposed to have an adult content, so why do the character act and talk like they're in high school? The dialogues are so irritating, it's reading a bad romantasy written by AI. And why is everybody so angry all the time? They've all got teenager angst, which would be fine if they were teenagers but they're supposed to be adults or YA at best. I like the open world concept, the exploration on horse is cute, but there are random things thrown in the main story, like winning horse races: the main quest is about finding our missing mother but we're too busy bickering with the queen bee heather and out-winning her at horse racing? Ok...). As for the main story, the idea seems cute, but I can't fully appreciate it because the game seems to focused on the bickering between the character than the actual investigation. And again, it feels like a bad romantasy story where the character main focus should be the plot but instead they're too busy dating and such. I got the game on discount, and I think it's worth trying if you have a chance to get a good discount, but I don't advice getting it at full price.

The game is just great. When I bought it, I couldn't have imagined that I would be so drawn into the plot. It's very interesting to play the game, sometimes it even gets scary (for me personally). The music is perfectly matched to such frightening moments, making me shake more and more with fear. I would like to touch upon the issue of donations. It's quite possible to do without a subscription, gold, etc. in the game, you just have to level up a little longer, but I don't see any particular disadvantage in this. Special respect to the developers for this. Mega pleasant cut scenes that are incredibly interesting to look at, and the best part is that they can be reviewed. I'm more than happy with the graphics, considering that the game was released 4 months ago. This project has great potential and a great future. I'm excited about the game.
