Epic Palace : Knossos

The concept of a strategy game centered around decorating a throne room immediately hooked me. So many strategy games let you build empires, but so few let you tangibly see the wealth those empires bring in. I'll preface this review by saying that I would love to see other games featuring structured base decoration like this game has in one form or another. The game itself plays much more like an RTS than most other historical strategy games centered around empire management, and that's fine with me. It's a polished set of mechanics that make the click fest feel fun, even if it is overwhelming for someone like me who shies away from true RTS games. The victory condition centering around sacrificing resources to attain prestige is a clever way to really highlight the culture of Minoan Crete and make the bronze age setting pop. The palace itself feels very important, with expanding the palace and building on production rooms being the only way to access late game techs and items. This is where the decoration of the throne room becomes most prominent; You send out trade ships which return with hauls of randomized loot, including blueprints for building decorations for the throne room which give you prestige that push you towards victory which you can view in a first person mode. Decorating the throne room pauses the game, making it a nice place to take a little break from managing the palace while admiring the fruits of your labor. This all ties the player's want to make the palace look more impressive and to win the game together tightly enough that you always know the value of doing what you are doing, and the game never feels aimless or pointless. The soundtrack is quite nice, and the graphics are good enough to really sell the palace of Knossos as a place worth decorating. Overall, this is a very nice little game, and I'd love to see more of its kind, whether of the same series or of games including the palace decoration mechanic. First person modes in strategy games should be tried more often.

Cool historically accurate resource management game, would recommend, although i am a bit sad about the lack of replayability

Das Spiel "Epic Palace - Knossos" findet zur Zeit der Bronzezeit in der Ägäis statt. Ich kann das Spiel Allen weiterempfehlen. Es macht sehr viel Spaß mit diesem Game in diese frühe Zeit einzutauchen, historische Informationen über andere antike Städte, wie Milet ( = Gründung durch Sarpedon, den Zeus-Sohn und Bruder von König Minos), und ihr Verhältnis zu den "Minoern" (Kretern) zu erfahren. Dass Kreta eine Vormachtsstellung innehatte, mit seiner Umgebung gut vernetzt war und die Bedeutung einer Handelsmetropole besaß, wird anhand der vielen ankommenden und abreisenden Händler und Diplomaten überaus deutlich. Ebenso schön ist es, dass man den Palast von Knossos in mehrere Phasen gegen den Einsatz gesammelter Ressourcen auf-Leveln kann. Der Thronraum im Palast ist mit Dekorationen, dem Original-Knossos entsprechend (Rekonstruktion durch den Ausgräber Sir Arthur Evans, aber auch Alternativ-Möglichkeiten), anpassbar. Am meisten Spaß macht das Ressourcen-Sammeln, um Aufgaben, wie den Kult für die Götter, zu erfüllen, während die Zeit gegen uns läuft (Wettrennen gegen die Zeit). Auch schön ist es, dass man mit Angriffen rechnen muss. Es gibt ja die Theorie, dass die Mykener (Bewohner des griechischen Festlands) nach der Thera-Erruption und dem darauffolgenden Tsunami Schuld am endgültigen Zusammenbruch der minoischen Kultur sind. Das Ganze wird im Game abgerundet durch die fantastischen Bilder, die direkt von den Fresken aus Knossos stammen könnte. Jünglinge mit langem schwarzen lockigen Haar sind für die minoische Kultur ja charakteristisch und finden sich somit auch hier wieder. Daneben auch die schönen minoischen Bronzewaffen, wie sie direkt von den Mykenern übernommen wurden und in deren Gräber als Grabbeigaben mitgegeben wurden sowie den charakteristischen Eberzahnhelm. Ich bin nach dem Kauf des Spiels und dem ersten Ausprobieren absolut zufrieden und spiele es sehr gern. Vielen herzlichen und ganz lieben Dank, liebes Entwicklerteam. [h1] Epic Palace : Knossos [/h1] Epic Palace Knossos ist eine schöne Mischung aus Städtebausimulation, Handel, Strategie und vor allem Rohstoff Mikro Managment. Wichtig ist es auch - neben der Ausbau des Palastes und der Stadt - Aufträge zu erfüllen damit das Ansehen steigt. Nur so kann das Spiel gewonnen werden. Die Grafik und der Sound sind schön und stimmig. In ca. 8-9 Stunden ist es durchgespielt. Der Wiederspielwert ist leider nicht allzu hoch,- vor allem weil der Highscore und die Archivpunkte nicht erhalten bleiben. Hierfür bedarf es eigentlich auf jeden noch eines Updates!! It is also important - in addition to the expansion of the palace and the city - to fulfill orders so that the reputation increases. This is the only way to win the game. The graphics and the sound are nice and consistent. It takes about 8-9 hours to play through. Unfortunately, the replay value isn't too high - mainly because the high score and the archive points aren't retained. It really needs an update for this one!! However, I'm afraid that this will no longer exist, but I can still recommend the game.

Fun game but lacking a lot of city builder features like hotkey support, the option to cancel a task, etc that make it hard to really enjoy. I made it through the game like twice, and it felt way more stressful than I would have liked. More options to control the notifications would be great, I don't need blaring red alarms for every single thing going on. Kinda feels like a mobile game in how limited the options are., Overall it's fun if you like Bronze Age settings and has some good moments, but the lack of freedom in how you play the game really takes away from what could be an awesome game.

super Spiel es hat meinen Ehrgeiz geweckt es immer noch besser zu machen

This is a fun time and resource game. You don't get much chance to slow down, but it's fun getting into the rhythm of harvesting olives/wheat/whatever and creating greater and greater goods. The graphics are very well done and it's got catchy music. The game does feel a bit overpriced, but I like how it prioritizes historical accuracy, so I am on board.

C'est un bon jeu tant qu'on s'attend pas une grande œuvre d'art. Le jeu est mieux aparenté à un jeu mobile ou un jeu flash d'antan qu'a un jeu de stratégie typique sur PC mais ça reste amusant et bon pour se distraire pendant quelques heures. Le prix reste un peu élevé pour le nombre d'heure qu'on peut y mettre, à recommender s'il est en solde surtout. Ça reste un vaillant effort comme premier jeu du studio et j'ai hâte de voir qu'est-ce qu'ils feront de prochain.
