About
Enter the Chronosphere combines turn-based tactics and real time action. Follow the crew of the Starseer as they combat a galactic threat: giant spheres that are consuming reality itself. Fight to the center of procedurally generated chronospheres, unlocking new characters, alien weapons and powerful synergies.
A shooter that gives you time to plan your next move.
Between each turn, bullets hang in mid-air and enemies are frozen. When you move, so does everything else. Alternate between bold action and careful planning. Dodge through a field of bullets, reload your shotgun, knock enemies into pits, call an artillery strike, or heal up just before you get hit in the face.
Mix weapons, gear and gadgets from different worlds to create powerful builds. Incinerate enemies from afar with sweeping lasers, fire your shotgun around a corner with bouncing bullets, modify your chainsaw to implant alien eggs, and then detonate your hatched minions like living bombs.
Every chronosphere contains biomes from the worlds it has consumed, each with its own enemies, objectives and gear. Choose a chronosphere to run. Retrieve coordinates from a bug-infested hellsphere, unlock a shiny new six-shooter in the wild west, or take on the smallest sphere (because you’re really meant to be working).
The rules of physics melt inside a chronosphere: anticipate distortions, mutations, and plunderable paradoxes. Do you stabilize your wounds, or your reality? The deeper you go, the weirder it gets.
From the “comfort” of their starship home, our heroes pursue the galaxy’s greatest threat: The mysterious chronospheres. Unlock new characters with alien skills and stories. Complete missions to learn new abilities or to expand the game with new threats and challenges. Conquer special chronospheres for massive rewards. Listen to the crew argue over whose turn it is to do the dishes.

Lots of fun. There's a great deal of weird weapons, it's sortof a little like playing a turn based enter the gungeon - although there is no ammo total to concern yourself with, so it is a lot easier to pick a weapon and stick to it. Sometimes that's great, sometimes it reduces the variance on the run to where it feels a bit samey by the end, but the runs are usually short enough that it's not a huge big problem, and you tend to get offer rarer, weirder, and sometimes more powerful weapons about half way through. Gameplay is moving or shooting or performing some other action, and you never have all that many options to choose from. Instead, how and when you use each of your options determines how well you'll do, and when you're doing well it feels like you're dancing through firestorms and returning fire in a graceful bullet ballet. When you're not doing well it feels like there's dozens of them and only one of you, and owch, and that EXPLODES, how can it possibly explode even more?! Then you retreat next to an explosive barrel and really that was the main mistake and now you're dead, but that's fine too, because another run is always an option, and it'll come with new stuff to try out, and possibly new biomes or enemies to face as well. Audiovisuals are strong, there's great theming, good music, and excellent sounds for all the various destruction happening around you. The art style is vibrant, colourful, and interesting, without ever being too visually distracting. The turn based nature helps a lot with this - you can just slow down and inspect things closer, if you really need to.
Really nice game for short rounds. The graphics alone are worth the price (no pixel-art, yayy). Soundtrack is nice as well. The gameplay is a really good idea. (I'm way too old for the stress of bullet-hell games :D ) The round-based gameplay makes it a little more chess-y. In regards to being patient and a little strategic helping you here. The controls are pretty intuitive and easy to understand. No hard boss moves/sequences you have to learn - every enemy move is drawn on the map ahead. The story, though, I have to say is.... there - maybe(?) The characters have a short small-talk after each session. But it's really only a little world-building dressed as a soft soap-like-dialogues. Maybe the "story" will actually be interesting late-game... for now I find myself just clicking through it
Review after 3 hours and have to say i'm hooked. Game play is fun and fluid with a perfect mix of strategy and action. Weapons and combos are fantastic and hit all the right spots to give you that power fantasy when the mods just hit *chefs kiss*. Ticks all the addictive boxes that a roguelike does and leaves you wanting to dive right back in after a session! I've been playing this with an Xbox controller on my TV and it feels spot on. I've already recommended this game to a few friends irl. Very polished for an Early Access Game and definitely worth the $19.99 AUD in it's current state.
I wasn't even aware of the fact that "Chronosphere" is Early Access still. Because: It simply doesn't feel like an unfinished game! Everything already has a state of completeness I totally enjoy. Here are some features I higly like: + A modern approach to turn based games that I haven't seen before except for "Shadwen", where other characters only move when you do, giving you the chance to think about your next action - and evading bullets in "Chronosphere"'s case + Roguelike-elements that do the job of motivating you to explore the next level instead of rushing through, with the ability to get new weapons, new gadgets, modding your equipment and more + A lot of active missions like the "challenges" in other roguelikes, including killing as much enemies, finding a weapon, and so on, always including an unlockable + A set of Accessibility options that really are those, foremost the option to increase UI and text scale, which IS relevant for players like me with a sight handicap. That's well done, and still rare these times I will continue exploring "Chronosphere" in this state already, but being curious for more content, because you can never have enough of that in a roguelike. Already now I can say, this is a new favorite game!
This is an early access title that is absolutely worth supporting - it's in a very polished state already. The combination of genres (turn-based & bullet hell) is heaps of fun, and the roguelike aspects are solid with each run feeling unique for the most part, although there are weapon mods that feel like the obvious pick for the majority of weapons, but maybe that's just my preferences speaking. I quite enjoy the little interludes between runs of the crew bantering with one another, which adds charm and has made me feel surprisingly invested in the story; I'm interested to see where the plot goes next after more updates. Also, this game looks amazing if you have an OLED screen, highly recommend.
Solid Rogue-lite, with a lot of charm. Great art direction and character design combined with a fun combat system that could be described as Hades meets Superhot. The only problems with the current version for me are that the soundtrack is pretty repetitive, and once you figure out the physics of enemy attacks, it becomes pretty easy to avoid everything if you have a decent loadout. I think with some new content this game could have a ton of replayability. New bosses, areas, and more incentive to take mutations would help the difficulty curve keep up with the learning curve for longer. Overall for the price this game is definitely worth it if it looks like the type of thing you would like.
