About

You are a survivor living in the remnants of humanity. In an attempt to escape to a better life, you board the Engine Eternal, a train that has the potential to take you to Paradise. During your journey across the Old World, you and up to 3 fellow survivors will stop at several locations and disembark to search old abandoned locations to look for fuel and upgrades to keep the Engine running.

The Engine powers everything onboard the train, so managing your fuel is crucial. Beyond simply being used to travel to new destinations, excess fuel will allow you to power the fabricator, the suit repair machine, and even state-of-the-art technology that allows you to reanimate your lost teammates. If you happen across raw materials during your travels, instead of recycling them as fuel, you have the option of upgrading the Engine, granting you and your team the ability to travel to more dangerous destinations.

Abandoned reminders of humanity's existence litter the Old World. Locations such as houses or bunkers are perfect places to scavenge for leftover fuel and raw materials. But be careful, be quiet, and stay in contact with your fellow survivors at all times; you won't be the only ones there.

Incredibly pretty environments, amazing ambience, beautiful music, and great fun, especially with friends! Definitely not an easy game, but very enjoyable, and easily worth it to grab.
launched the game -> drank coffee and set new land speed record -> meet robot friend (he chill) -> found out what a reaper is and brown'd my pants -> pushed Roberto out the way and died. (Roberto is not my friend anymore) 8/10 will play again.
A really great game to play with friends with lots more to come! With 4 difficulty settings to choose from, you can choose the experience you prefer best. The environments are very nicely made and the overworld areas are absolutely gorgeous (music as well). The devs are actively updating the game and taking into account community feedback, so there's a lot to look forward to! I'll be playing this again soon. Cheers! PS: I would like to be serenaded by the nice voice in the radio more throughout the game. :)
Super fun with friends, looking forward to future updates! Engine Eternal is similar to others in the genre; you go from the train to a destination, then from a destination to a randomly generated labyrinth full of loot to burn for fuel, and monsters to get in your way. The core loop is a lot of fun, with a nice difficulty ramp during each round. The game ran butter smooth on my system (Ryzen 3900X, RX 6800XT, Arch Linux, via Proton), and I noted minimal network issues in a 4 player lobby playing as a US client connecting to an EU host. What I was left wanting though is something that strongly sets it apart from similar games. The fuel mechanic turning the game into a ticking clock is a great start, but I feel it needs more. Perhaps more interaction with the monsters, some mechanic for each that would disable or eliminate them
for example, perhaps a button on the red-light-green-light bot that makes it dance or disables it for a bit, or giving a particular item to a hag to keep her quiet, or doing something within the levels themselves to mitigate a particular mob, and so on
Visually, the maps between the train and the labyrinth entrances range from "neat!" to beautiful, although they do feel a bit empty at the moment. I do wish the game leaned more into the sci-fi-esque-steampunk-esque set dressing within the levels themselves.
The factory map in particular felt the most generic, being grey hallways, pipes, and boilers. I also wish the radio announcer or some NPC had a constant role, maybe as a passenger in a fancy car at the rear of the train, sending little bits of encouragement or quips as the players progress.
As stated, the game is presently worth picking up for more than a few sessions with friends. The developers are actively working on the game, and are listening to feedback. I recommend it!
First play and i am already hooked! If you've enjoyed games like Lethal Company, REPO, and others like them-this is the perfect next game for you. With creative monsters, interesting level design, and a gorgeous music score-Engine Eternal is already shaping up to become a hit. The mechanics are smooth, with very little issue aside from a slight bit of mouse sensitivity adjustment needed in later updates (for people like me who tend to have unsteady hands, anyway). Minimal bugs, mostly just players floating instead of walking, which does not affect playability. I can't wait to see more from the developers-this is a solid game that i imagine would be hysterical with more people playing (we just played as a duo for this round).
Engine Eternal is a wonderful smash and grab game! If you like Lethal Company you'll be at home here as it feels like a more streamlined experience! I'm looking forward to seeing where the devs take this game and can't wait to see them make this into something unique! Update, as support for the game has been dropped, I can no longer recommend the game. I recommended the game partially based on the potential it had going forward. With that potential gone I can not recommend buying the game.
10/10 would recommend this fun game horror coop game to my friends.
Slop.
FUN!
