About
EMPULSE is a fast-paced 6v6 movement shooter where movement is the weapon. Outmove and outgun your opponents across the post-utopian streets of Freehold, chain wall-runs into grapple swings into mid-air kills, and fight for Crews to control mechs for the ultimate power spike.
Movement is the foundation on EMPULSE. Every district in Freehold is built for chaining movement together and finding your flowstate. Here’s a look at the toolkit:
Wall-running: Run forwards and backwards, chain almost any mechanic into a wall-run, and ride virtually every vertical surface on the map.
Grapple hook: Build momentum, swing around cover, whip into a wall-run faster than you could on foot, or hook an enemy to reel them in for a one-hit melee.
Holojumps and jetpacks: launch off boost pads to keep the movement chain alive.
P.A.I.N.T. Bombs: Reshape any surface with Jump, Speed, Explosive, Heal, and Sticky P.A.I.N.T. Bombs to gain the advantage in fights.
Grapple into a wall-run, swing into a Holojump, slide into Speed P.A.I.N.T. In EMPULSE, every move flows into the next
Mechs are the most contested objective in a match. They act as a power spike that spawns mid-round and forces your team to fight for control. Two of them spawn at the center of the map at a time, and whoever claims one is piloting a machine built to take over a round. A claimed mech comes loaded with a full kit:
Chaingun that ramps up the longer you hold the trigger
Rockets that delete anyone caught in sight
Melee that hits enemies for heavy damage and knocks them back
Deployable bubble shield to lock down a position or act as cover
Charge jump that launches the mech high into the sky, then slams down with a shockwave, crushing anyone caught underneath on impact
Dash to reposition with surprising speed, especially for something so massive
We are shipping in Early Access because the best version of this game is the one we build with you. From day one we will be in the game alongside the community, reading feedback, and shipping updates on a steady cadence based on player insight. Building out in the open lets us move fast and prioritize what players are actually asking for, instead of locking plans to a roadmap set in stone months prior. The more you play, report, and pitch, the better EMPULSE becomes. Here is what that means:
A roadmap driven by you, not locked in months ago. Expect new modes, maps, weapons, mechs, and meta playstyles, with plenty more waiting for everyone to discover through playing.
Balance and systems tuned with you, not at you. We adjust weapons, mechs, and modes based on how the community actually plays, and we tell you why.
Decisions made in the open. We share what we are working on, what we are holding back, and what we are still figuring out, so you can shape it before it ships.
No store, no battle pass, no microtransactions at Early Access launch. Period. Cosmetics are earned in-game through Gigs, progression, and events, with non-paid exceptions like Twitch Drops and wishlist incentives.
We’ve taken the game this far. The rest we build together.

The worst match making I have ever seen. 30 minute queue times, genuinely the most atrocious team balancing of all time. only 3 usable weapons, rest are genuinely trash/unusable. Mechs even being in the game adds an unneeded level of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. All in all just a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game.
cool game with a lot of potential
sehr gute diese
for me a 35 yr old somewhat washed never was actually that good shooter gamer. gold peak in valorant with maybe the next rank up aim lol but this game really whooped my ass at first but once i got over that learning curve hump and started flowing around and grappling when i should it is really quite fun. the mech stuff isnt too complicated and they die pretty fast even when they are on the battle field so its mostly wall running floating around and grappling while you shoot eachother. 8/10 great game
Гребанный лаунч. Качает до 29% ,а дальше не хочет
gutes konzept geiles feeling
Solid game, though of course it's light on content. Def feels like titanfall they def got the movement and feel down, feels exactly like it. couple of things 1. The character designs are dog water. Very generic. They def need some "hero shooter" design passes, like Frag Punk and Marvel RIvals. At least there's no woke slop like pink goofy outfits andd characters like slipgate 2 had 2. Def need some more "capture point" modes. Death match is incredibly boring 3. I really think they should just do like titan fall and make everyone have a mech. Having a mech spawn in the game and one dude dominate for 10 minutes just isn't it. When one mech spawns instead of cool mech battles you just get a dude steam rolling everyone, it's not fun Overall great potential
I want to like this game and I kind of do, but there is a lot that can be improved.

The Bad:

Game Modes: My biggest complaint is the game modes. Most of the game modes are some version of Oddball and it's terrible. Go pick up ball, hold ball, get ball to goal/keep away from enemy team. This is terrible because the good players just stay mostly out of bounds and are so good at the movement tech it's insane. The trailer doesn't even show one of the "ball modes" when those make up most of the game modes! If you want to play Ranked it's one of the ball modes and it's absolutely the worst possible mode to make ranked. Anything else would have been better. Actual capture-the-flag would have been more enjoyable.
Bullets: Many of the guns shoot slow moving projectiles, (think Borderlands 2,) and I am not a fan. I understand why, the idea that if you made them hit-scan then maybe time-to-kill would be even more insane, but I still hate the feeling. The shotgun now shoots 3 distinct projectiles in a line and they move very-very-slow. Does not feel good. Please change this to be pellets at least.

The Good:

Movement: The movement mostly feels great. I keep thinking to myself that this is what BRINK wanted to be all those years ago.
Guns: The guns feel distinct and sound good. I mostly like them, if only the bullet lag thing was removed. It's weird that I am moving at Mach 5 and then out the barrel of my gun comes the slow moving projectiles. It just feels off to me. g
Hammer: The hammer sounds incredible and is a lot of fun to use. It went from being one-hit-kill to two-hit-kill. I'm on the fence about that but it hasn't killed the enjoyment of it. The different grenade types either assist with movement or restrict it with the exception of 'heal paint' and 'damage paint' and generally feel good to use.
It isn't squad based! I love that there is an actual 5v5 mode. It's annoying to me that most PvP games have switched to 3 man squads and don't allow for more players.
Feels like more of an arcade shooter: There's not much to say, I just hope that they lean into this and not out of it.
Great movementshooter, nice gunplay ... needs much content and polish, but the base in EA is great <3
