Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Aug 17 → 1.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I got this game several years ago for the PS4, but, like many, was disappointed by the many game-killing bugs, made worse by the fact that the game wasn't getting any updates, so it felt like the devs had abandoned the game. However, apparently they released an update recently, which motivated me to go ahead and get the game on Steam. While after six hours I have encountered one bug that required a re-load to a previous save, the game has worked fine otherwise, and hopefully we'll continue to get some updates moving forward, because I've always really liked this game. Even if not, hopefully the recent update has taken the game from an "almost completely broken" game to only a "it'll break, eventually, but hopefully not completely" game. As the base game is currently priced at $40, and I recently got premier games like Fallout 4 and No Man's Sky for like $10, asking $40 for this game seems like a major stretch. That said, I like the game a lot. If you can get it on sale, and are aware that the game may glitch out on you sooner or later, or if you're not particularly strapped for cash and are willing to throw money at something, I like the game. I'd like to see the game have a redemption arc, going from a mixed/negative reaction to something more positive, and hopefully encourage the devs to work out any remaining bugs. So again, my two main words of caution would be the price, you might want to wait till it goes on sale unless you have money to burn, and hopefully you are aware that the game may bug out at some point, but, so far it seems, the bugs are not as bad as they were.

Really just feels like shovelware. Nevermind selling a 2 DLC season pass, where the second DLC was never released, and even mentioning this to the devs gets you banned from their discord according to many people in the steam forums.
Quest line "A sticky situation" is broken
So to start off Yes this game is good, yes BUY it for around 20 dollars or so. more if u like this style of game. it is a good solid game. all that said i thumb it down because they still sell season pass it appears... this game is done, no more updates, no more dlcs coming. those of us like me that bought the gold or whatever package years ago wont get all the updates, dlcs promised. there is no 2nd dlc coming. so dont waste ur money on things that will never be....... all that said. again its a good solid game, i got all the dlcs imo game is worth 30-40 dollars with the dlcs that are out now. my play time shows i enjoy it. one of the few games over 100 hours. economy is good, fun, interactive. game is somewhat challenging. depends on difficulty. main chars can get pretty over powered lvled up. geared up. making the end game little boring. I will add. the game is STILL buggy. u can loose save file for some reason..... and there a counter melee atk skill in game. for whatever reason almost never works. worst part is if u have a bleed on ur char. u get atked, then it become their turn, so they get bleed dmg.... it say counter. but ofc nothing happens other than more hp loss... and u then skip to next char turn. like wtf...... sometimes it works but ughhhh. hair trigger imo is better, but still it bug out sometimes and do nothing. like wtf. so just wanteed to add incase anyone does come this game is NOT without its bugs. game breaking ones at that.. i had to quit my last 2 saves 10-20 hours in because of game breaking buggs. 3rd save prior i was almost done with game and for whatever reason i lost my entire save folder...... like how the wtf.... so if u want to take it serious it can get very frustraing....
I honestly love this game. I know it had some issues on console but I never ran into any issues on PC. Edit: You know how Bethesda ruins their games with updates that end up breaking more things than they solve? That was Paradox with this game. I went from basically no issues, to game breaking bugs, crashing, you name it. I honestly thought Paradox had abandoned the game until late last year when they came out with a new DLC. I jumped on it considering how much love I have for this game. But my love has soured since the last time I played it. Id still recommend the base game but i'd avoid the most recent DLC. Not only do mods not work anymore but I only experienced these issues after downloading the latest DLC.
Idk why this game was drowned in negatives. Solid gameplay and fun stories part. Made me love this setting of a Mafia 1920th
if you already own it it is okay. hell no do not buy it. it is mid. but if you already have paid for it then you can play it. it is playable. kinda fun. eh.
This game is fun. Yes, it is unfinished and that needs to be noted for all prospective buyers. A couple of quests can get buggy so it is helpful to have multiple saves. Do NOT BUY the Al Capone nor Expansion 2 (these are waste of money and not going to get you anything, respectively). Game is best purchased on sale; Make it Count is all you really need (extra mob boss and new building) and Deluxe if you just really like the game. All that being said as a caveat, the game is quite entertaining for a mafia XCOM type game. Good graphics and visuals that are a significant upgrade from the decade-older entry in the genre which is Omerta City of Gangsters. For those who are looking for a more period-accurate simulation (example: mostly male or only male henchmen) I recommend downloading a mod for the game from the Steam page. The noir/1930s mafia era really needs new entries in the series with the dearth of content being created for it. Until another xcom-style crime game comes out (ideally, in the 20s-30s historic period) Empire of Sin is the only game in town that has great visuals. The game can be played casually as you seek to eliminate mobsters one by one and takeover neighborhoods. The main draw to me was knowing that most of the mob bosses you can play ARE historic characters, some lesser-known than others but that was a major draw to me.
