An old favorite which still draws you in and engages you. There are multiple levels of unit complexity so start with a simple game, master the mechanics and level up your skills so you can add more units until you are using them all! Although this is a hot seat game, I haven't found a way for players to formally cooperate or share maps. Wonderful game.
This game has been around since back in the early PC days, yet is still so engaging. It's a build, conquer, expand game that focuses on the combat and creating a good supply chain of troops and units. That could soon become very tedious in a game with a large map and I have seen it be very tedious in other games, however this game has a lot built into it to manage that automatically, with convoys, paths, auto explore mode, etc. So many different type of units, all of which can be heavily customized if need be. I have done a little customization to make some of the units more viable, as I found their production or construction time to be such that the game would be well decided before they became a factor. It is so addictive despite its retro graphics,

Fun game!
This is an update of a game I was playing from a 5.25 floppy disc back in 1989. It has ZERO visual appeal, but other than the Sim City series, no computer game has held my interest like EMPIRE DELUXE.

I've been playing this game in one form or another since the late 80's and that still makes me a newcomer. While I miss the weather from a previous version, this game has replayability more than any other I know, and has that "just one more turn" hook. Don't let my steam numbers fool you, I've logged countless hours with this game since it came out. I've done loads of single player vs AIs, pbe, and fileshare games. I've even won some of them! :D
A very good game offering a smooth flashback to the original EMPIRE game. Money well spent!
Classic game for when gaming was actually fun.
