Reviews
TL:DR Although it's a very short game, Emily_ delivers the story with vibes and puzzle-like minigame through finding clues given by the chat and the keywords. Very nice game if you're looking for something simple but still compelling enough to keep for a hour, should be platinum'd for a full experience Emily_ is about the story of you and this AI, what starts as something simple quickly turns into something emotional as you progress through the chat and plot twists, with hints dropped here and there about the ending for you to figure out as you go. As a game itself it's a very simple visual novel, you're given a question, 2 choices, you pick your path and you hear what Emily has to say, though, just like many visual novels, the choices lead to nothing but a simple dialogue change and used to keep the player engaged as they read through. Nevertheless, where it falls short in length and gameplay, the game uses vibes to make up for them: the green UI, the screen flickers, audio and photos clues... everything in the game make you feel like you booted up an old PC and just found Emily there, waiting to be reawakened from her slumber through the passwords you find in the clues. Speaking of the clues, the game leans more toward the visual novel tag than the puzzle tag, finding clues and figuring out what is the password is extremely easy to the point it feels more like a mini-game to keep the player engaged a bit more, and even if you are "supposed" to go through the chats, the answer or the first clue is dropped right at the end before the chat closes or not given at all, same goes for the files you unlock, you can get to the final chat with just 4 files unlocked, probably even less, which is really bad considering you need at least 25 in order to unlock the true ending (this is not told anywhere in the game afaik). Unlocking the files can be fun or tiresome depending on who you ask, and having played the game twice (before and after the 1.1 patch) i can tell both versions: The First time it was really fun going through all the chats and files, saving all potential keywords and even trying to find secret/easter eggs ones, i got easily to 56, which is beyond what's needed for the achievement. But the second time was dreading, as going through the whole process again to get to 25 was annoying, since you get kicked out to the main menu every time you open a file, you have to manually click the textbox every time you want to type in something, some keywords don't work despite being similar ("mom" works, "mother" doesn't). However this is something every player should go through, as i 100% advise to get all the achievements in order to have fully experienced the game, it doesn't take too long anyways, the game can be beat in less than a hour, making it a perfect game for those who hitch a bite-sized story that doesn't take too much time to enjoy and feel. 7/10
good game, good soup. i really liked the twist, it's rarely explored.
Venir mandato a fanculo da una donna pure in un videogioco non è mai stato così divertente
Emilia è proprio uno dei giochi di tutti i tempi, consigliato per chi vuole immergersi in una bella storia in poco tempo
