Inspired by the deep simulation of Dwarf Fortress, the open world survival of Minecraft, and the social interactions of The Sims. Embark is a colony management game with a focus on complex simulation in a huge living 3D world.

Almost a year without an update. Dev went on to making another game as a favor to a friend apparently. Promised to come back to Embark but we're now nearly 6 months out from when he stated the next update would come. Can't recommend in good conscience at this time, as the game is not finished. I'll update if the dev ever resumes work.
I keep hoping to see progress made, nothing ever seems to change and unfortunately, my expectations were not met. The game promised a vast open world with endless possibilities for exploration and adventure, but instead, I found the worldhas languished with very little progress, the AI is retarded, and worst of all it's boring. The graphics were also underwhelming, and the gameplay felt repetitive and uninspired. I was also disappointed by pretty much everything by this point. Overall, I was let down by "Embark" and would not recommend it to others.
don't bother it only gets updated once a year and is far from finished
I was really hoping for the success of this game. Sadly, I think the dev gave up. A lot of promises made and broken. Early Access needs to change in a big way. I bought it, I'm stuck with it.
The game has been in early access for almost five years, and the last update was an year ago. Need i say more? Don't listen to the positive reviews, they are just fanbois and white knights that like being scammed.
This is why I don't buy Early Access games anymore. Money taken, game abandoned. Thanks?
this game havent got any update in years, its been abandon stay away guys
Bought the game for the potential, sadly not enough of it has been realized.
beyond frustrating. drafted colonists don't obey orders and run off without reason. some jobs namely butchering just wont happen. colonists will get depressed because they are hungry, but wont eat because they are depressed. game pauses and unpauses randomly. in some saves the game speed simply doesn't work their animations are faster but their actions are not. game needs a lot of work and after 3 years in EA I just don't think its going to make any meaningful progression in development.
This game looked extremely promising. But, with sporadic updates and now the developer abandoning it to make a shiny new game, I would not recommend it. It's like Towns all over again. Don't buy it and try to get your money back if you did. Edit: The Dev abandoned his X account and disabled his email for the game, as well. What a joke.
