its like touhou but you can parry and dash and ♥♥♥♥ and its so friggin badass yo
Elite Exorcist Miko is a very good game I am not a hololive fan, so I'm unbiased though, I am a Touhou fan, which this game practically is this game made dodge rolling and melee in a bullet hell work it's like enter the gungeon if it was a bullet hell (and good (overly simplified)(and touhou)) it's kinda hard to explain it's a bullet-hell shmup-like twin-stick rogue-lite(maybe?) but oddly melee focused but it works the game feels very fluid when it gets going would highly recommend
After crowning every boss I can say that this is an elite bullet hell. For $10 this is an absolute steal. Elite Exorcist Miko is not overly difficult, but also has a high skill ceiling, so I think it can be enjoyed by anyone, Hololive fan or not. The recent HoloX update is a great showcase of what tian nya is capable of, and makes me excited for the future of an already great game.
This is a very good horizontal shmup, which I can recommend even for non-hololive fans. The controls feels very nice, specially on controller, the soundtrack remixes are excellent and the bosses are diverse and all are fun and unique enough. There are options to make it easier, so it can be more forgiving for newer players to the bullet hell genre (or until you "git gud") There is some challenge in trying to get crown for all bosses, which adds a lot of replayability. Finally, there are some roguelite elements like customizable passives, sub weapons, seals and stat increases, it gives enough freedom for the player to find their own playstyle. Overall very elite level fangame for the most elite holomem.
When I first heard about this game, I was thinking "I'm familiar with Touhou and its bullet hell, what's the worst that can happen?" As a 2D horizontal shmup, this game brings out what makes Touhou good in the setting of Hololive. By that I mean, an elite and somewhat pon shrine maiden beats the evil spirits out of her friends and fans with really good music playing. Its like Touhou but with a protagonist that actually cares about the situation at hand. The gameplay is fairly similar to Touhou; fighting waves of enemies before running into fellow members that all somehow learned danmaku patterns to beat, burn, and humiliate you with (You know, the usual). You can use materials you pick up during runs to buy new weapons, items, and upgrades which really bring out a good sense of variety and customization to how you go about your runs. The customization goes even further with the ability to change attack styles to fit your needs and alongside an invincible dash and the ability to parry melee attacks (not all of them though), you can handle anything with enough practice and the right setup. (And thats not even mentioning the cosmetics for getting no hit runs). There's even assist options for those struggling and extra stages for those looking for a challenge. The pixel art is nice and crisp and the music is filled with strong remixes with similarities to the famous ZUNpets. The story is straightforward with a good amount of references all around the place. Its still in development, but it does show itself to be worth its price now for the content it has now and probably later on. Even for those on the fence, this game offers a demo that transfers save data to the full game. Needless to say, this is a fairly polished game and a decent hidden gem to pick up for shump fans.
Even with assist mode, this game is still hard but now beatable for me lol
Bought this game because of Hololive, continued playing for the music and the genuinely well-made roguelite game loop. There is a learning curve when dealing with the parry aspect (or maybe I'm skill issue), but it is incredibly lenient on newer players to the bullet hell genre, as well as including challenges for the masochists out there. In terms of personal customization, the game includes so many items that I could create almost every build I could think of. While some item combos are objectively better than others at this stage of the game's development, they are generally balanced enough to fit the kind of combat style you're going for. Overall, this game is easy for anyone to get into, whether a Hololive fan or not. The game's soundtrack is filled with references (and ZUNpets), and 100%ing is a pain. You should get it.
