Fun lil tower defense, especially considering the price... or rather the complete lack of it. Has 5 stages with some simple difficulty modifiers that change up enemy HP, enemy gold, wave compositions/wave ordering - nothing too crazy but it does force the player to plan differently and adapt differently depending on them. Towers have different elements to them (which counter each other - enemies take more damage from elements that counter them and less from elements which they counter), which can then be combined with other elements to create tier 2, and then even tier 3 towers, which in turn can then be upgraded with elemental gems which are earned every 5 waves - this all makes for some satisfying decision making on multiple layers, and then even more on top of that since towers can differ even functionally with some of them being buff towers for others. And then finally there's a pinch of complexity in the gold system - it's an interest system that basically gives you more gold the more you save in regular time intervals, meaning that decisions on whether to instantly buy and upgrade or wait and accumulate more gold can push you to do stuff differently than you would have otherwise. The UI is whatever, it isn't bad but it could be better in the tooltip department specifically - after 30 minutes of playing and learning about different towers the UI won't be an issue anymore, especially since everything relating to tower building is key binded to the letters coresponding to the first letter of the element you want to add onto your tower (for example adding a nature element to a tower means selecting it and pressing N). Presentation-wise it has some simple, nice & relaxing music, it's colorful and in general quite calming to play. I like it, it's a very neatly thought out lil game and I can't wait to try out the sequel - while it doesn't do anything mindblowing nor revolutionary, it also doesn't do anything bad per se. Just an above average, cozy and fun experience.

Unsatisfying and shallow. I'm generally a fan of tower defense, but I had no nostalgic ties to the original Element TD and picked this up solely to satisfy my curiosity about how it's evolved into ETD2. This game is worth it's price, in the sense that I'm willing to pay a dollar for a little over an hour of entertainment. Nothing about ETD feels rewarding: wave progression is too quick and varied, downtime isn't long enough for true tower management, and achievements are pointless (tied neither to Steam nor in-game unlockables). As another review mentioned, there's no real goal beyond besting your previous high score. The lack of any sort of reward system makes the game feel like there's no true progress to be made; nothing to unlock, no new levels, no new towers, no new experiences. There are far better tower defense games out there, and unless either you're nostalgic or curious, I wouldn't waste my time here.
This is about as bare bones as it gets for a tower defense. You do in fact, get what you pay for in this case. The entire game feels like it was made on a budget of a dollar. That said though, it does deliver on the "flash game tower defense you play in the computer lab" feel. The combos are fun, the tower art is pretty good. The waves are just repeated dps checks. The difficulties? More aggressive hp ramping. This is good and bad, the game basically just sends beefier and beefier units until your defense collapses. There are many ways to beat the game and you get to choose. If this looks fun at all, get it, it's a dollar. Amusingly, there's also no "exit game" button, so the only way to close out of the game is to alt-F4 or close it directly from steam by tabbing out.
A Tower Defense Game That’s Elementally Awesome! Element TD is like the ultimate mix-and-match game for tower defense enthusiasts. Imagine if the periodic table decided to throw a rave and invited Light, Darkness, Water, Fire, Nature, and Earth. That’s the level of party you’re getting with this game! The charm of Element TD lies in its unique take on tower defense. Combining different elements to create powerful defenses is as satisfying as finally figuring out that one tricky puzzle. Each element has its quirks, and watching them synergize (or hilariously fail to) keeps you on your toes. The game nails the balance between strategy and fun, challenging you to think critically while keeping the experience fresh and engaging. It’s like being a magical mastermind who controls the elements and watches as your enemies are overwhelmed by a symphony of elemental chaos. So, if you’re ready to mix up your tower defense strategy with some elemental flair, Element TD is a blast. Just be prepared for some seriously epic moments—and maybe a few elemental meltdowns! Pues es la idea pero no tiene sentido alguno, esta muy MUY verde... Si estas pensando en dota: Element TD, OLVIDALO.
The second one is way better but I already got my moneys worth. I have this on mobile too. At first it seems like there’s no strategy but once it’s starts getting hard you definitely need strategy.
nostalgia trip
Cool but I prefer 2 :)
