Eidolon Adventure is a somewhat nonsensical "casual" 2D retro pixel mobile-app tier incrementer game with RPG-like elements. Gameplay consists of crafting by merging various objects to create other objects in crafting rooms, and using those to buff up your Eidolon, which is basically an avatar that fights for you. I think. This is extremely hard to follow. The English translation is so terrible it almost gave me an aneurysm. Google Translate could do a better job if it had half a bottle of scotch and one of its eyes poked out.
Following on from incomprehensible gameplay, the technical implementation is also a shambles.
A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result.
There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. The implementation here is of such poor quality, the developer couldn't work out how to make the game display in fullscreen, it only runs in a window.
The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers.
This looks and feels like a mobile app, but I wasn't able to find it on the app stores. Maybe it was removed, maybe it was rejected by Apple and Google (they do have more rigorous quality standards than Valve does for Steam, after all). Regardless, for all intents and purposes this is a mobile app, it has the same limitations and dumbed down qualities. It's impossible to recommend such a game to PC gamers. We don't spend all this money building gaming rigs so we can pretend they're iPhones.
These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.
Eidolon adventure didn't appeal much to the people who own a copy of the game, either. It has achievments, and they show us a very clear picture that the game didn't really capture any interest from gamers. The most commonly and easily attained achievement is for leveling your Eidolon to 50 hps, fairly easy to do, but only around 34 percent of players bothered to get that far before uninstalling the game, less than half the players. Hardly a success story, gamers just weren't all that interested in the game.
Eidolon adventure is relatively cheap at $1 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend.
