The issue has been fixed we now have access to settings to fully customize them. I really like the movement in the demo but movement feels awkward now a little herky jerky. It may be another steam deck issue. It just feels like I'm moving eventhough I'm not pushing the control to move. Other than that it felt like the demo. If the movement doesn't bother you it's a good cheap fun game. 7/10
Awesome game, very unique story, such a brilliant concept. The gameplay is great, it doesn't feel like "just another shooter", the destruction is also a massive bonus. Short and Sweet, it's left me wanting more!!!
Very good game worthy of buying it ❤️
i only played 16mins, I didn't enjoy it, the movement system and the shooting mechanics are honestly well polished but feel out of place with everything else, vague dialogue and no help to make you understand what to do at the start of the game. A lot of visual effects that made it look like it was a psychedelic horror, idk I didn't even understand what was the point of it. optimization wise is good, but I feel like it lacks a clear direction.
I was lucky enough to receive a copy of this game from the wonderful developer of this game, and I'm incredibly grateful for it. Besides slightly clunky controls and perhaps slightly unrealistic destruction, this is actually a really solid game in my opinion. The graphics give Borderlands vibes which is awesome and it's super chaotic. The one thing I absolutely did not like though was the use of AI. Some actual voice acting is absolutely necessary for a video game and this definitely needs fixing. The rest of the AI used should also be removed as well. NOTE-I played this game on my other account through Steam Family-I've played the game for more than 0.1 hours
Oyun çok başarılı ve gelişmeye açık umarım geliştirici oyundaki bazı pürüzleri giderir ve oyunu kusursuz hale getirir
Edge of Destruction is a first-person shooter developed by Surin and published by Devotion Interactive that attempts to blend high-intensity combat with a psychological narrative and a destructible environment system. Rather than presenting a traditional military shooter or fast-paced arena experience, the game builds its identity around a central mechanic: the ability to demolish large portions of the world during gameplay. Structures collapse, walls shatter, and entire areas of the environment can be reshaped through the player’s actions. This mechanic transforms the battlefield into something dynamic and unstable, where destruction is not simply a visual effect but a core element of the gameplay loop. The story places players in the role of Sara, a woman who awakens in a strange and fragmented reality after a traumatic accident. She finds herself in a world that feels familiar yet distorted, filled with ruined structures and shifting landscapes that seem to respond to her actions. As the game progresses, it becomes clear that this environment is not a normal physical world but rather a manifestation of Sara’s own subconscious. The environments she travels through represent fragments of memories and emotions that she has suppressed. Instead of confronting the painful truth behind her past, she initially attempts to escape it by tearing apart the world she has created. Narrative elements are revealed gradually through environmental details and scattered pieces of dialogue. Rather than relying on long cutscenes, the story unfolds through exploration and symbolic imagery. Locations feel less like realistic settings and more like dreamlike spaces shaped by psychological tension. Certain areas resemble abandoned urban environments or industrial complexes, while others appear surreal and distorted, reflecting the instability of Sara’s mental state. As players move deeper into these environments, they uncover fragments of her memories that slowly reveal the circumstances leading to the accident that changed her life. Gameplay centers on first-person shooting mechanics combined with large-scale environmental destruction. The player is equipped with various weapons that can damage both enemies and the structures surrounding them. Unlike many shooters where environments remain static, Edge of Destruction allows players to break through walls, collapse buildings, and alter the layout of combat arenas. This system encourages experimentation, as players can create new paths through environments or remove cover used by enemies. At the same time, destruction can also create new dangers, as collapsing structures may block routes or trap the player within debris. Combat encounters are designed to take advantage of this destructible environment system. Enemies appear throughout the game’s levels, and players must navigate constantly shifting terrain as the battlefield changes during fights. In some situations, destroying parts of the environment becomes a tactical decision that alters the flow of combat. Players might demolish a structure to expose hidden enemies or break through barriers to reach new areas. Boss encounters also make use of these mechanics, with large sections of the environment collapsing during battles and forcing players to adapt to the evolving conditions of the fight. The destruction system is one of the game’s most distinctive features. Watching buildings crumble and debris scatter across the battlefield adds a sense of chaos that makes each encounter feel unpredictable. The mechanic also ties directly into the narrative theme of dismantling the mental world Sara has created to hide from her past. As players continue to tear down the environment, they symbolically break through the emotional barriers that separate Sara from the truth of her memories. Visually, the game adopts a stylized yet somewhat bleak aesthetic that reinforces its psychological themes. The environments often appear worn, fragmented, or partially ruined, reflecting the unstable nature of the world itself. Lighting and environmental effects emphasize the unsettling atmosphere, with dark corridors, distorted architecture, and surreal landscapes appearing throughout the journey. The visual design focuses less on realism and more on creating a mood that feels tense and emotionally charged. Sound design also contributes to the overall experience. Much of the audio atmosphere is built from environmental sounds such as collapsing structures, distant echoes, and the rumble of debris falling through damaged buildings. These sounds help emphasize the physical impact of the destruction mechanics. Music is used sparingly but becomes more prominent during intense combat sequences or important narrative moments. The combination of ambient audio and sudden bursts of action helps maintain a sense of tension as players explore the unstable environments. Because the game is still being developed in Early Access, some aspects of the experience remain unfinished. Certain gameplay systems and environments may feel rough around the edges, and enemy behavior occasionally lacks the sophistication seen in larger shooters. Technical issues or performance inconsistencies can also appear due to the complexity of the destruction system. However, Early Access also means that the developers are continuing to refine the game based on player feedback, which may lead to improvements in future updates. Another limitation lies in the balance between destruction and level design. While the ability to demolish environments is exciting, it can sometimes create confusing navigation situations if too much of the map collapses during combat. Players may occasionally struggle to determine where to go next when the environment changes dramatically. This unpredictability is part of the game’s identity but can also introduce moments of frustration. Despite these challenges, Edge of Destruction stands out as an ambitious attempt to merge environmental physics with psychological storytelling. Few shooters attempt to make destruction such a central element of both gameplay and narrative symbolism. The concept of tearing apart a world that represents the protagonist’s own mental defenses adds a layer of meaning to the chaotic action. Overall, Edge of Destruction offers a unique combination of experimental gameplay mechanics and introspective storytelling. While it may lack the polish and content variety of larger first-person shooters, its destructible environments and surreal narrative give it a distinctive identity within the genre. Players who enjoy unconventional indie projects and experimental mechanics may find the game’s approach refreshing, particularly if they are interested in seeing how the project evolves during its ongoing development. Rating: 7/10
Great FPS shooter chaos game. The "destroy everything" aspect of this game makes it very fun to play. Overall gameplay is good and not that hard. Just that the use of AI for the voice overs makes it kinda boring to hear the story since it lacks emotion but considering the fact that this is an indie game, I think it's ok. Another thing that the Shotgun is just tooo OP. Like you can sit at one place and shoot enemies really far away from you, so if there could be some adjustments made to the guns that'd make them usefull for different cases like the first AR for long range , shotgun for close, etc, otherwise everything is great with some room for improvements. Overall: 8/10 Graphics: 10/10 (Beautifull) sound track: 7/10
