About
In Echoes of the End, you play as Ryn, a powerful vestige born with an affinity for what remains of an ancient magic. When her brother is captured and war threatens to engulf her homeland, Ryn must rise to defend it before it’s consumed by conflict.
Alongside Abram, a seasoned scholar with a haunted past, she embarks on a journey that will test their newly forged bond, uncover buried secrets, and challenge what it truly means to wield power in a world on the brink of collapse.
The handcrafted world of Echoes of the End draws inspiration from the raw, untamed beauty of Iceland, a land where fire and ice coexist in striking contrast. Towering glaciers, ancient lava fields, and vast geothermal plains form the backbone of its landscapes, each shaped by nature’s elemental force. Traverse windswept valleys, descend into glowing volcanic depths, and uncover a realm filled with monsters, mysteries, and relics of a lost civilization where magic and machinery intertwine.
Combat in Echoes of the End is fast, deliberate, and brutal, blending precise swordplay with devastating vestige powers.
Chain heavy strikes, parries, and magical abilities with seamless grace before finishing off your opponents with visceral execution moves.
Use your magic to hurl enemies into each other, into environmental hazards, or off sheer cliffs. Drain their life to sustain yourself in the heat of battle, and unlock new abilities across four upgrade trees that let you tailor your approach to combat throughout your adventure.
Ryn is not alone. Her capable companion Abram fights alongside her, using his abilities to damage, stun, trip, and grab enemies, creating perfect openings for devastating follow-up attacks.
Whether you’re here for the story or seeking a true challenge, Echoes of the End has something for everyone.
The new Journey difficulty strikes a balance between combat intensity and steady progression, making it the definitive way for newcomers to experience the game’s story, combat, and exploration.
Puzzles and platforming are at the heart of Echoes of the End’s adventure. Every chapter introduces a distinct visual theme and unique puzzle mechanics, ensuring that no two areas feel alike, from ancient ruins powered by shifting energy to volcanic chambers with twisted gravity.
Solve intricate environmental challenges that blend logic, timing, and exploration, often requiring clever use of Ryn’s abilities to manipulate the world around her. Leap, dash, and double-jump your way through a breathtaking world as you develop a growing arsenal of magical traversal powers throughout the journey.
Forge your own path through a progression system that rewards mastery and experimentation, with over 40 upgrades that enhance and expand Ryn’s arsenal of skills. Every choice defines how you fight, explore, and survive in this ever-evolving world.
Outfits and relics further shape Ryn’s strengths, allowing you to adapt your approach to combat with unique builds and strategies. Unlock 13 outfits to personalize Ryn’s appearance and discover more than 20 relics that dramatically alter the flow of encounters, letting you fine-tune your playstyle, from relentless offense to tactical precision.

I think Echoes of the End is one of the closest “triple-A games” a double-A game has achieved in a long while. It has breathtaking, utterly mesmerising scenery painted with photorealistic textures (most likely using photogrammetry or megascanning to build and create their gorgeous environments in-game) inspired heavily by the equally beautiful locations of Iceland. The best aspect about this game in my opinion is the animations. These are some of the best and most fluid character animations I have ever seen in a “triple-A” double-A game- maybe in general thanks to their excellent Motion Capture. It’s something I greatly appreciate since sub-par animations tend to be the primary reason my immersion is broken in a game. From what I’ve noticed, developers tend to neglect polishing their animations due to frustrating difficulty which is understandable, but it brings the quality down substantially. Personally, the gameplay was very fun, at least for a “triple-A” inspired video game. There is a plethora of indie games that I might find even more fun. Still, there's a number of different enemies with plenty of different skills and combos to attack them with. However, New Game+ only provides a new layer of paint on existing enemies, so it might not be worth it to most players to replay the game. I think the story’s great, even if it is quite simple, and there’s plenty of awkward moments to stratch your head to. Sometimes, the main actress sounds like they’re reading from a script. Still, actors and actresses did a great job overall. I really enjoyed Zara and Abram, both individualistically and collectively. Though their plot-twise wasn’t surprising, I still liked them a lot. Scriptwriting could be better in terms of dialogue and mixing too, specifically when it comes to the voices’ ability to blend with the environment. In Chapter 1, for example, Cor sounds like he’s right beside Ryn when he’s across a pond. A minor nitpick but it gets grating. People assume it would be an open world role-playing game, but it’s similar to God of War (2018). The description quite transparently states it is an Action Adventure game, not an RPG. It upsets me that people leave negative reviews solely because it wasn’t what they thought it was, or that they couldn’t read the actual video game’s description. Speaking of God of War (2018), It’s quite obvious the developers took very heavy inspiration for it: down to the use of semi-open exploration with linear storytelling; the puzzles to proceed to the next areas (which God of War had as well, but I don’t hear people saying the presentation is a scam on their store page); the opening of chests to collect lore and other collectibles; the travelling via boat; and conversations between Abram and Ryn during their travels. It’s very blatant, but I don’t see it as plagarism or copying in the slighest- merely paying homage to an amazing game, which plenty of developers do too. Controversially, and much to the dismay of some uninformed players, I genuinely enjoyed the puzzle solving. Retrospectively, they’re quite simple, but first experiencing them really gets the brain to tinker which is something I can always appreciate. I understand people complaining that there’s just too many puzzles, I personally disagree but I can see that being the case for many. Even more controversially, incels and snowflakes hate that the main protagonist is an unconventially strong woman who acts more masculine than feminine, disliking her broodish personality without understanding that it stems from a strict life of discipline (something traditional men may very much empathize with). They also find her ugly. I like Ryn, and I find her to be very good-looking. However, regardless of appearance, a game shouldn’t immediately be disregarded or negatively reviewed because you just aren’t attracted to its female main protagonist or a female supporting character. She isn’t made for the male gaze, and that only makes me appreciate the game more. Additionally to Ryn, I appreciate the different outfits Ryn is able to wear, aesthetically speaking. The soundtrack is down-right gorgeous, especially when the music plays during the end credits. It’s a great game, and a splendid debut from Myrkur Games. I look forward to the continuation of Ryn’s adventure since the ending hints towards a sequel.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 4: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2.86/day in the week to Jul 30 → 5/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
A Modern Classic!
Nix was stört, sondern überwiegend Spaß macht. Guckt euch Uncharted an!
For an "enhanced edition", it's still too rough around the edges. And it should really be tagged as a "Puzzle" oriented game above anything else.
8.5/10 Echoes of the End was a pleasant surprise. The environments are absolutely beautiful, and I really enjoyed the female lead and the supporting cast. The story kept me interested from beginning to end. The combat mechanics took some getting used to. The timing for certain moves felt unforgiving at times, and there were a few sections where the camera and movement gave me a bit of motion sickness. I also would have liked more opportunities for exploration and side quests, as the game is fairly linear. Overall, though, I had a great time with it. If you're looking for a visually stunning, story-driven action adventure with memorable characters, I'd definitely recommend it.
Gameplay matters. It always did matter. It was the only thing that mattered... or so I thought. It speaks for itself. This is AA quality (or nearly). Fantastic. No doubt the mechanics and the way things handle is better than many many games. Its enjoyable. The unenjoyable part - Dialogue. Horrendous dialogue. Immersion breaking dialogue. A very unlikable little girl with princess syndrome. Quite sexist too. I'll continue playing but I can only take so much of the "Awesome" immersion breaking dialogue from a self-centered-man-hatin main character. Which is YOU or ME. I can't stand MYSELF in the game. Gameplay does matter... But I have to love myself and I don't... in the game. So this has changed my whole thoughts on modern gaming. Get it on sale. I hate to do that from the fantastic developers but the main character is vomit and it really takes away from what this could have been.
Zaczynamy z podstawowym asortymentem – zwykłe ataki, parry, blok, unik/roll i kilka sztuczek magicznych – miotanie przedmiotami/wrogami, odepchnięcie, wyssanie życia. Wraz z rozwojem postaci, do dyspozycji mamy więcej trików – rzut mieczem, wir magiczny, specjalne ciosy/kombosy, kontry magiczne itp. Grafika i audio Graficznie, „Echoes of the End” wypada w większości świetnie. Postacie, mimika, gesty, animacje – wyglądają naprawdę dobrze, a lokacje dostarczają ślicznych widoczków. I chyba tyle. Podsumowanie Mi gra przypadła do gustu. Wie czym chce być i założenia realizuje dobrze. Jeśli lubisz gry a’la „Tomb Raider” - z dozą akcji, elementami zręcznościowymi, ale też sporą dozą łamigłówek i zagadek – „Echoes of the End” nie powinno zawieść.
Not bad at all. Heavy use of Icelandic scenery made this a gorgeous and worthwhile playthrough for me. Expect some jank, but nothing gamebreaking. You might want to mess around a bit with the graphical settings though, and swap some keybindings as neither felt optimal. I got the game for about $10, which is more than fair.
