Graphics: 5/10 Sound: 7/10 Story: 7/10 Overall: 6/10 First things first: Get it when on sale. To be honest, this thing shouldn't exist as it is, but given that it's a Kickstarter game I understand the need for it to exist. It serves to not only show how work is coming along but also to give the fans something tangible beyond just promises and promises. And, boy, is it needed given that for almost 3 years there were no news on the project. Now, what we have here is an intro composed of two stories, one with multiple endings and one that is just a kinetic novel. In all honestly, the second one didn't get my interest at all. The first one though had some spark to it. I don't actually expect anything great out of the continuation, but it should be enough to entertain for a little while. Also want to note that the music by itself isn't that great, but the game has a quite decent voice over, which is why I rated the sound part so high.

很喜欢这种类似于漫画的表达方式，画风也让我很是喜欢，但这并不足以让我给它一个好评。 压抑的剧情看得是真的难受，篇幅的短小又让我产生了一种未完待续的感觉，虽然我喜欢本作的美术风格，但如果仅仅只是喜欢美术风格我还不如去看图片来的舒服，想给一个中评却没有这个选项，可如果差评的话相比较于很多作品本作还是要优秀一些，尤其是结合价格来看的话勉强还说的过去。 如果还有更多的剧情的话我想是值得一个好评的，但如果仅仅只是现在这样那只能说是一般了。

Net deze intro uitgespeeld en werd er echt door geboeid. Voor onder 1 Euro kon je deze aanschaffen en heb het in een bundel gekocht met de wallpapers en Stripboek in pdf en de hoofdgame voor net onder de 10 Euro. De intro speel je onder de 2 uur uit met alle alternatieve paden. Zou deze eerst uitspelen voordat je aan de strip begint want die bevat spoilers. Beiden zeer aan te raden maar de wallpapers zijn niet echt heel bijzonder. Kortom ik kijk er naar uit om met de hoofdgame te beginnen.

Typical japanese-type visual novel with a woman having clothes torn off and a man obtaining superpowers. It has been done to death, The art is decent. The prose is competent. Overall, meh.

So this is an intro game. - Average story at best. - Very short play. - Few choices. - Decent art and music. - Easy 100% achievement. - Buy only on sale. - Not worth it unless you want an easy 100% game. Overall 3/10.

One of the first titles produced by the Dharker studios, and not a typical one. It only serves as a very brief introduction to two characters so unless you feel like reading the sequel: Echo Tokyo: Phoenix, don't bother. This title is an uncommon mix of a comic and VN style presentation. I find this combination rather refreshing and worth pursuing. At the start you are given a choice of one of two stories. Each introduces one of the main characters of the Echo Tokyo series. Both stories are very short and only one has choices. The stories itself are not very original if you ever read or seen sci-fi titles. Writing is rather average, but considering the price, acceptable. The novelty of presentation kept me interested. Art is presented in the form of comic panels. There are no character sprites or CGs but there is gallery containing all comic pages. There is a strange mix of art styles. My guess is at least three different artist produced the visuals, if not more. This introduced a lot of quality inconsistencies and some chaos. Some art is barely passable while other is somewhat above average. I can't say I like this art mishmash. audio side is fine. Nothing memorable but it generally fits the events well. There is a full voice acting which considering the price asked is rather surprising. Still, the quality of this supposedly professional voice acting leaves a lot to be desired. Lack of emotions is rather grating. Just reading a script is not a good voice acting. Japanese do it better 99% of time so why bother with English if at all. No bugs encountered. To summarize, A very brief intro of two Echo Tokyo characters presented as a comic/VN with full, but weak, voice acting. The art is inconsistent and music rather average. Novelty of presentation and promise of possibly better next part might be enough to give it a try. Weak recommendation from me and only if you plan to read the next part: 5.2/10
