Earth: 9000

Earth: 9000 is like a weird Missile Command rogue-like. Worth checking out. The gameplay is pretty simple and arcadey but has some interesting depth. You basically play as 'earth' and blast all these waves of different spaceships attacking from all directions. You have six different weapon types to choose from, directional shields you activate to avoid taking damage, and a tractor beam to pull in supplies dropped from destroyed ships. Along the way you can unlock tons of different weapons -- the new weapons aren't always "better" they're just different and I found it fun to experiment with different combinations. I wish the game were a little more generous with ammo, but it does make you be more strategic with your shots and forces you to go for some of the ammo upgrades. Yeah that's the other neat thing, as you progress in each run you choose upgrades to specific types of weapons, ammo, shields, or weird stuff like upgrading the moon that orbits Earth. So far I've tried a few different upgrade paths for different runs. So probably my favorite things about the game are these random boss waves. They're super hard and you get attacked by a huge ship or even a planet. They can be really hard but its a fun challenge. All in all I think the game is good and its getting better with lots of updates.
