Just finished my first run of the game, and I have to say, It was really fun.
About This Game
This game is a fun cheap little platformer game where you play as an unnamed character where you traverse through a whole bunch of levels to complete the game.
Levels
There are 100 levels and every time you die, you have to play a level you already completed. If you die while trying to beat the already completed level it sends you back another level, and you then have to complete both of those to get back to the level you have yet to beat.
Difficulty
As you progress throughout the game, the levels get harder and harder. For the most part, this is true, but in some cases, the developer throws in a level that is either quite a lot easier or quite a lot harder than the previous levels. Overall, in terms of the levels though, I found that all of them were quite fun (albeit a few annoying ones), and all of them were fair.
Mechanics
There isn't any info in the game about how to play, although it isn't really necessary because the controls and mechanics are mostly straight forward. The only thing that took me a while to realize is that if you walk off an edge, you can still jump twice while midair if your quick enough with it.
Aesthetics
The aesthetics of this game were quite amazing. The minimalistic and semi-retro feel of it made the game really nice to look at. Due to the style of the game it would seem it would be hard to add nice little details without making it look out of place. Although, this game adds subtle little details for the player to notice at several points during the game, which is a nice little touch that made the experience all the better.
Graphics
Thanks to the simplicity of the art style in this game, I could clearly tell where both the ground and spikes were without any trouble. Throughout the game, there were no points in time where it hurt to look at, and you can play for a long time without having your eyes hurt due to there being no overly bright levels in the game.
Soundtrack
This is one of the few aspects of the game that felt a bit lackluster to me. There's only 1 song in the game as far as I can tell. It's somewhere between 30 and 45 seconds long and is played on repeat throughout the game. It sounds sort of like one of the VVVVVV songs, but with it's own unique twist to it. It's a good song, it just gets repetitive after a while. It helps if you keep the sound somewhat quiet while playing.
Achievements
Some people might consider the achievements in this game to be kind of "spammy" due to an achievement being unlocked for every level you complete. I somewhat agree with that aspect because an achievement for every level seems to be quite a lot, but, I wouldn't change it. It makes you feel like you accomplished something after you complete a level for the first time. Then there are a few achievements that make this game quite a lot more difficult to completely beat. There's an achievement for completing 75 levels in a row without dying, for example. It's doable, it's just it will take you quite a while to do.
Price
For the 2$ that this game sells for, I would say it's completely worth the price. It provides a bunch of content that's actually fun to play. Compared to all the other terrible games being released on the steam store as of late, this game isn't even on the same level. It could be priced at, say, something like 5$ and still sell relatively well.
Developer
This section isn't really about the game, but more so about the developer of the game. When he first released the game, there was a bug where it would crash if you tried to put the game into windowed mode. This in itself is slightly annoying, but the developer responded to the person who asked for a fix and fixed the bug within 12 hours of release. Really amazing developer who actually cares about his game and the people playing it unlike some of the developers who publish a game and then forget about it for a couple years.
Score
Overall I rate this game 8.5/10. I find this game to be way more fun than a lot of the Triple A games that are being released lately. Score would be higher but the soundtrack brings it down quite a bit. I highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys platformer games!

E.Z is an amazing Platformer with awesome meta-humor and great level-design. The game comes with two difficulty modes: "I just want to have fun" and "Classic". In "Classic" you will return to a random previous level if you die. Then you will enter the level you died in and get the chance to progress. This way you will always be challenged and it's rich in variety. The graphics and level design reminds me of Dungeon Escape and Dead Dungeon by Roenko Games. The (gameplay-)humor is a great preview for Totally Normal Creatures latest gem, We are Eva. I totally recommend all the mentioned games. Grab a cup of coffee (or whatever you like) and enjoy the madness <3 edit: The game supports Cloud Saving which is great because you don't lose any progress) 🟦🟦🟦🟦🟦🟦🟦🟦🟦🟦🟦🟦🟦 🟦🟨🟦🟦🟦🟦🟨🟦🟦🟦🟦🟨🟦 🟦🟨🟨🟦🟦🟨🟨🟨🟦🟦🟨🟨🟦 🟦🟨🟦🟨🟦🟨🟨🟨🟦🟨🟦🟨🟦 🟦🟨🟦🟨🟦🟨🟨🟨🟦🟨🟦🟨🟦 🟦🟨🟦🟨🟦🟦🟨🟦🟦🟨🟦🟨🟦 🟦🟨🟦🟨🟦🟦🟨🟦🟦🟨🟦🟨🟦 🟦🟨🟦🟨🟦🟦🟨🟦🟦🟨🟦🟨🟦 🟦🟨🟨🟦🟦🟨🟨🟨🟦🟦🟨🟨🟦 🟦🟨🟦🟨🟨🟦🟦🟦🟨🟨🟦🟨🟦 🟦🟨🟦🟦🟨🟨🟦🟨🟨🟦🟦🟨🟦 🟦🟨🟦🟦🟨🟦🟨🟦🟨🟦🟦🟨🟦 🟦🟨🟨🟨🟨🟨🟨🟨🟨🟨🟨🟨🟦 🟦🟦🟦🟦🟦🟨🟨🟨🟦🟦🟦🟦🟦 🟦🟦🟦🟦🟦🟦🟨🟦🟦🟦🟦🟦🟦 🟦🟦🟦🟦🟦🟦🟦🟦🟦🟦🟦🟦🟦
Crim's Humble Opinion Curator E.Z is a difficult and fun platformer that will frustrate you but at the same time give you a nice sense of accomplishment. There are 100 levels in this platformer and each level has a nice variety from the previous. You will sometimes have the screen flipped or reversed on you which throws your understanding of platformers out the window and challenges you to adjust. If you die on a level you go back to a previous level you have beaten. This can sometimes be frustrating if you get impatient as you can lose a lot of progress very quickly. As long as you take your time you can get through it though. For those who are not very good at platformers or want to stay away from the rage-worthy aspect of this game, there is a mode called I Just Want To Have Fun. This mode allows you to restart on whatever level you die on. Most of the in game achievements can only be unlocked on the normal mode. The controls are simple and the weight feels right. You will realize that it is usually your fault for jumping into a spike or down a hole; despite your aggravation trying to convince you otherwise. The music and minimalistic visuals work well for this title. The developers are also super attentive to my understanding. The amount of content and replay value is pretty good for the low asking price.
Pros
+Fun platforming +Nice minimalistic visuals +Fun soundtrack +Easy mode for those having difficulties +Attentive Developers +Cheap I honestly don't have any real cons for this one. It is frustrating at times but it usually not to the games fault, but the players. If it is too frustrating for you there is an easier mode in place. It'd be nice to have the "beat this level" achievements unlock on the easier difficulty as well; but I can understand why they don't. For the cheap price I can easily recommend this platformer. It can be aggravating but it's a pretty solid title.
Follow our curator page: IndieGems if you like and want to see more reviews like this one.
E.Z is a minimalist platformer that is anything but what the name suggests. It is challenging, difficult, but also fair. There is only one objective for each level, to get to the other side of the screen. The levels are all quite small, so it is perhaps a bit difficult to think about how this can be difficult. But the game challenges the player to do some tight jumps or double jumps, to face a couple of small environmental changes, and to deal with some levels that are inverted or switched between left and right. There are only 100 levels in this game, so it can be called short, because the levels are short, and 100 short levels gives you a pretty short game. But the game does not let you keep retrying the same level if you fail, instead it goes back to a previous level that you have beaten before if you fail. The game keeps track of which level you are on and how many levels you have failed, if you failed twice, then you will be pushed back to another level from the past. You have to progress through all of these to try the one that you failed at first. There is a lot of rinse and repeat in this game, so be prepared for that. If you want to get better, repetitively playing a lot of the levels, which the game is designed to make you do, is great for that. The game challenges you to move and think in these quick response situations on an endless cycle of repeat for improvement. It is a cheap little game that can keep you occupied for many hours, the game's frustrations is really caused by the player's need to rely on skill and improved understanding of the game, not by relying on luck. Luck only takes you so far, and that is a really nice feature of this game. I definitely recommend this challenging little game.
I received the product for free. The very positive rating that this game has is so unbelievably undeserved, because there are so many glaring flaws in this game, that it hardly deserves any positive rating, let alone a 90% rating. I'll briefly describe most of the issues I found during the game, that will hopefully deter you from buying this game, as I do not think this is worth your money, even for the price it is set. 1. Directional keys don't get reset after each level. This means if you're holding a key when finishing a level, it will keep you moving on the next one, which, I cannot possibly count, how many times this has caused me to die and spiral downwards. 2. The game will constantly force you to replay the same dozen levels, not reusing any "easy" levels, and only reusing the tedious and boring ones. This causes the game to be so incredibly tedious, instead of a constant mixup between all the levels you've played so far. 3. Hitboxes are slightly larger than what they appear to be. This is a huge issue in any platforming game. All good platforming games have accurate or smaller hitboxes (i.e Geometry Dash, Celeste), so it doesn't feel frustrating to play. 4. Uncreative game in general. The amount of pixelated "difficult" platform games on the market, is so absurd, that giving one a positive review nowadays, seems like such a difficult thing to do, if you're trying to be accurate. 5. Some levels are impossible to complete on your first try. This is because there are certain levels that you have to wait for something to happen, or you have to do something as soon as you spawn in, and it's impossible to know this, unless you've played the level already. This forces you to be reset a level, which just artificially inflates the difficulty of the game, for no reason, other than to make it seem more difficult than it is. 6. Way too many mirror levels. Like, they aren't difficult, but it is so incredibly overused, and this game uses it way too much. They aren't creative, they aren't fun. They are bland, and take an unnecessary amount of time. Stop overusing them. 7. Speedrunning achievements. There is absolutely no achievements that I find that achievement hunters/completionists hate more, than speedrun based ones. It does not make sense to lock an achievement behind getting a certain time. Speedrunning is meant to be an optional challenge that experienced players can do, after they have 100% completed a game. They should not be a required obstacle for the 100%, and when you make them as absurd as 15 minutes, it just adds to the frustration of having them. 8. Some achievements are completely luck based, and just rely on you getting, well, lucky. They can also be insanely difficult, such as, not dying a single time in a run, which, might I mention, is completely insane. You also have an achievement that has you not die, in addition, to having to get lucky, which is to get the hat from an RNG event, and then not die with it, for the entire game. I mean, really? It's so absurd, that it isn't even funny. So, to conclude, for an achievement hunter, this game is such a hard pass, that a numerical scale cannot represent it. For someone looking for a fun game and doesn't care about achievements? I don't recommend it, but it's not expensive enough that you couldn't give it a shot. I recommend getting a coupon for the game before buying it, if you choose to get it regardless of my warning though.
I love this game! i beat all 100 levels and enjoyed how challenging it was sometimes it can be frustrating but in the end once you get there it feels so rewarding!
It's definitely worth it! I was on a budget and was looking for a really good platforming game for a low price, this definitely hits the spot! It's definitely worth the 1.99, It's a very addicting game and also has 2 different modes depending on what type of person you are! 9/10, would definitely recommend!
i love replaying the same level that i constantly ♥♥♥♥ up over and over. this game is lucky i play with an invincible xbox controller and not a keeb. by the way, f!$& you e.z
